Old Dutch Dike Warehouse Papercraft In HO Scale - by Schaalbouw

Offered by the talented Dutch designer Edward Paijmans, from the Schaalbouw website, this interesting papercraft depicts an old dike warehouse, buildings that were very common along the Maas and Waal rivers in the Netherlands, especially during the 19th century. These small sheds were used to store tools and materials employed in the maintenance and reinforcement of dikes, such as shovels, wheelbarrows, buckets and sandbags, all essential during periods of flood risk or for repairing damage caused by the water.

The warehouses were built at regular intervals along the dikes and were usually positioned directly on the embankment or attached to its inner side, functioning as small strategic emergency storage points. This model captures very well the simple and functional style of these historical buildings typical of Dutch riverside regions.

Designed especially for dioramas, model railroads and architectural maquettes, the model follows the traditional HO scale, or 1/87 scale, making it perfect for railway and urban scenes compatible with commercial miniatures of the same scale. The realistic textures of aged wood, roof tiles and masonry help create an extremely convincing appearance even in such a compact model.

The model is composed of two sheets containing the parts for assembly and also includes an extra sheet with very well detailed illustrated instructions, making the construction process easier even for less experienced modelers.

According to the author himself, the model was designed to be printed on 160 gram waterproof photographic paper, ensuring greater durability and excellent print quality. In addition, the assembly also requires some 0.5 mm thick cardboard to reinforce the internal structure of the model and provide extra rigidity to the walls and roof.

The Schaalbouw website features several free architectural papercraft models created by Edward Paijmans, all marked by an excellent level of detail and inspired by traditional Dutch and European buildings. It is a true treasure trove for fans of architectural papercraft and model railroading.

Os depósitos eram construídos em intervalos regulares ao longo dos diques e normalmente ficavam sobre o próprio aterro ou encostados na parte interna dele, funcionando como pequenos postos estratégicos de emergência. Este modelo captura muito bem o estilo simples e funcional dessas construções históricas típicas das regiões ribeirinhas holandesas.

Desenvolvido especialmente para dioramas, ferromodelismo e maquetes arquitetônicas, o modelo segue a tradicional escala HO, ou seja, 1/87, tornando-se perfeito para cenários ferroviários e urbanos compatíveis com miniaturas comerciais desta escala. As texturas realistas de madeira envelhecida, telhado e alvenaria ajudam a criar um visual extremamente convincente mesmo em modelos compactos.

O modelo é composto por duas folhas com as peças para montagem e acompanha ainda uma folha extra com instruções ilustradas muito bem detalhadas, facilitando o processo de construção mesmo para modelistas menos experientes.

Segundo o próprio autor, o modelo foi projetado para ser impresso em papel fotográfico impermeável de 160 gramas, garantindo maior resistência e excelente qualidade de impressão. Além disso, a montagem requer também um pouco de papelão com aproximadamente 0,5 mm de espessura para reforçar a estrutura interna do modelo e proporcionar maior firmeza às paredes e ao telhado.

Over 60 Free Architectural Papercrafts In 1/100 Scale - by Felis Lynx Now On Telegram

Back in 2021, when I first featured the amazing architectural papercraft collection created by the Russian team from Felis Lynx, the project already impressed me with its originality, realism and generosity. At that time there were only 18 models available, all based on real architectural projects and offered completely free for download.

Years passed and the collection continued to grow steadily. In 2025, I revisited the project here on the blog when the number of models had already reached an incredible 63 buildings, ranging from charming countryside houses to modern residences and elegant urban constructions, all designed in a beautiful 1/100 scale style with very clean and professional graphics.

Now the good people from Felis Lynx have kindly contacted me once again to share another great piece of news with the papercraft community: all models are also available through their official Telegram channel, making access even easier for hobbyists around the world.

According to the creators themselves, all house project models can now be downloaded completely free and without the need for registration, something increasingly rare nowadays and certainly worthy of recognition and praise.

For those who still do not know this fantastic collection, it is truly worth a visit. The models are perfect for architectural studies, dioramas, model railroads, RPG and wargames, or simply for anyone who appreciates beautifully designed paper architecture. The clean textures, realistic proportions and wide variety of styles make this one of the most interesting architectural papercraft collections currently available online.

According to recommendations provided by the creators on the official website, the models are supplied in PDF format and designed for A4 paper size. The recommended paper weight is 200 gsm for the best results and structural stability. For proper scale and fitting, the files should be printed without resizing.

I would also like to thank the Felis Lynx team for their kindness, generosity and continued support of the papercraft community throughout all these years. Projects like this help keep the hobby alive, accessible and inspiring for paper modelers all around the world.

Ravage Doggy Mecha Creature Papercraft In PDO Format by Szigetiart

Created by the talented designer Szigetiart and originally published at the official Pepakura Community website, this curious papercraft called “Ravage Doggy” is a great example of the creativity and technical quality often found in the international papercraft scene. Combining stylized shapes, mechanical details and a playful yet slightly menacing appearance, the model has a strong visual presence and will certainly appeal to fans of robotic creatures, science fiction and videogame-inspired characters.

The model is hosted at the Pepakura Community website, an online platform managed by Tamasoft, the Japanese company responsible for creating Pepakura Designer and Pepakura Viewer, two of the most important programs in the world of papercrafting. For many years, the Pepakura Community has served as a meeting point for designers and hobbyists from all around the world, allowing creators to publish their works, exchange experiences and share original templates in PDO format.

Unlike traditional PDF papercrafts, PDO files are interactive and can be viewed in three dimensions through the Pepakura Viewer software. This allows users to rotate the model, zoom in on specific parts and better understand the assembly process before cutting and folding the pieces. Because of this, PDO-based models are especially popular among more experienced hobbyists and designers who create detailed and complex projects.

To view and print this model, you will need the Free Version of Pepakura Viewer. When opening the file, a password request window may appear. Simply ignore it and click the option “Open with Pepakura Viewer,” which appears just below the password field. The model will open normally in viewing mode and can be printed without problems.

Mustached Bomber Paper Toy In Super Bomberman Style by Mark Productions

This fun paper toy represents Mustached Bomber, a humorous mashup character that mixes the classic look of Mario with the cute proportions and explosive style of Bomberman. Blade Runner Type-S Yellow Coupe Papercraft Inspired By Syd Mead’s Futuristic Designs - by Joshua Humphreys

Created by designer and Blade Runner fan Alex Gwynne, this very original papercraft recreates the fictional “Type-S Yellow Coupe”, a futuristic vehicle inspired by the legendary visual concepts of Syd Mead for the classic movie Blade Runner. The model captures perfectly that retro-futuristic aesthetic that transformed the film into one of the greatest milestones in science fiction cinema.

Unlike the famous Police Spinner vehicles prominently seen throughout the movie, this yellow coupe was based on one of the many background cars briefly appearing on the streets of the futuristic Los Angeles imagined in Blade Runner. Even appearing for only a few moments on screen, the design clearly carries Syd Mead’s unmistakable influence, mixing sharp geometric lines, industrial forms, oversized panels and that very characteristic “future imagined in the 1980s” look that still feels convincing and fascinating today.

The papercraft itself looks very well designed and relatively compact, making it a great weekend project for fans of sci-fi vehicles, cyberpunk aesthetics and movie memorabilia. The model features a vibrant yellow color scheme with dark windows and clean body details, giving it the appearance of a futuristic taxi, commuter vehicle or even a corporate transport car directly from Blade Runner’s rainy streets. Depending on the scale used, it could also work very well as scenery for tabletop RPGs, wargames or futuristic dioramas.

For assembly, paper between 120 and 180 grams should work very nicely, offering enough rigidity without making the smaller folds difficult to handle. A good pair of scissors or a sharp hobby knife, a metal ruler and white glue are probably all you need to build this futuristic little machine. Builders who enjoy customization can also add subtle weathering, rust or neon reflections to give the vehicle an even more authentic cyberpunk appearance.

Syd Mead, often called a “visual futurist”, helped define not only the visual identity of Blade Runner, but also movies such as Tron, Aliens and 2010. His futuristic concepts continue inspiring artists, designers, videogames and papercraft creators around the world even decades later.

Pokemon Chikorita Paper Toy - Easy One Sheet Free Papercraft by Ten Pepakura

From the Pokémon universe, here is Chikorita in a cute and easy-to-build free paper toy version created by the Japanese designer Ten Pepakura. Offered as a printable papercraft template on the author’s official blog, this model is compact, charming and perfect for Pokémon fans, beginners in papercraft or anyone looking for a quick and relaxing project to build in just one evening.

Chikorita is one of the starter Pokémon from Pokémon Gold and Silver, released for the Nintendo Game Boy in 1999. Unlike Pikachu’s electric personality, Chikorita belongs to the Grass type and became known for its calm and friendly appearance, especially because of the large green leaf on top of its head, one of the character’s most recognizable visual elements. Over the years, Chikorita gained a loyal fan base thanks to the anime series and its many appearances in Pokémon games and spin-offs.

This paper toy captures that soft and rounded look very well. Even though it is a relatively simple model, the proportions are nicely balanced and the final result looks very clean once assembled. The parts are simple, the folds are clean and the overall construction seems beginner-friendly, while still offering enough small details to keep experienced papercraft hobbyists entertained. Because the model is compact, lighter paper between 120g and 160g usually works better than very thick cardstock, especially around the smaller tabs and curved parts.

About the author, Ten Pepakura is a Japanese papercraft designer well known among fans of anime and videogame paper toys, especially Pokémon characters. His blog features many free printable models ranging from simple one-sheet toys to more detailed creations, always maintaining a clean and very recognizable style.
