This beautiful paper model representing the Chapel of Saint Leonard consists of 151 pieces distributed across five printed sheets. 

Perfect for dioramas, RPGs, and wargames, the model of the Chapel of Saint Leonard was created by German designer and model maker Dieter Welz from the Ausschneide Bogen website and is in N scale (1/160). 

For a more refined finish, Mr. Welz recommends printing the templates on 160 gsm paper. 

The Chapel of Saint Leonard (St.-Leonhards-Kapelle) is located in the Söflingen district of Ulm, Germany. 

Consecrated in 1490, its construction may be even older, as it originally served as the parish church of the village. 

The chapel is dedicated to Saint Leonard, the patron saint of prisoners, the sick, and domestic animals. 

One of the most remarkable elements of the chapel is the painting of the high altar, created in 1754 by Söflingen painter Johann Baptist Enderle. This work depicts Saint Leonard exercising his protective role over those who seek his aid. 

Another significant feature is the mural on the chapel’s north side, restored to its original form in 1950 by artist Josef Braun from Wangen/Allgäu. 

The chapel features elements of Gothic architecture and houses frescoes and sacred artworks of great historical value. 

Söflingen, the district where it is located, is a charming area of Ulm known for its old monastery and picturesque atmosphere. 

The Ulm-Söflingen tram circuit provides easy access to this and other local attractions, making the chapel a point of interest for both the faithful and lovers of history and art. 

Interestingly, Saint Leonard was widely venerated in the Middle Ages, especially by peasants and prisoners who believed in his power of liberation. His devotion was so strong that many churches and chapels were dedicated to him throughout Europe. 

Furthermore, the Chapel of Saint Leonard in Söflingen has withstood the test of time, preserving its spiritual and artistic significance in the Ulm region.

A Capela de São Leonardo (St.-Leonhards-Kapelle) está localizada no bairro de Söflingen, em Ulm, Alemanha. Consagrada em 1490, sua construção pode ser ainda mais antiga, pois originalmente servia como igreja paroquial da aldeia. 

A capela é dedicada a São Leonardo, padroeiro dos prisioneiros, dos doentes e dos animais domésticos. 

Um dos elementos mais notáveis da capela é a pintura do altar-mor, realizada em 1754 pelo pintor de Söflingen Johann Baptist Enderle. Essa obra retrata São Leonardo exercendo sua função protetora sobre aqueles que a ele recorrem.

The Tower Of Belém In Portugal Paper Model - by Kouichi Kaji

Composed of 84 pieces divided into 20 sheets for printing, this beautiful paper model of the Tower of Belém, in Portugal, was created by Japanese designer and modeler Kouichi Kaji exclusively for the Canon website. 

The Tower of Belém, located in Lisbon, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Portugal and was built between 1514 and 1519 during the reign of Manuel I. 

Originally called the Tower of Saint Vincent, it was designed as a defensive fortification at the entrance to the Tagus River. 

It is an example of Manueline architecture, combining Gothic, Renaissance, and Moorish elements. In 1983, it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

The Tower of Belém was originally constructed on an island in the middle of the Tagus River. Over time, due to sedimentation and changes in the river's course, it is now located next to the shore. 

On one of its facades, there is a sculpture of a rhinoceros, inspired by the first rhinoceros brought to Europe, which arrived in Lisbon in 1515 and symbolized Portugal's contact with the East.

In addition to its military function, the tower was used as a prison during the 16th and 19th centuries and later as a lighthouse to assist navigation. 

Technically, the Tower of Belém is not considered medieval, as it was built between 1514 and 1519, at the beginning of the modern period. 

The Middle Ages ended around the late 15th century, and the tower belongs to the Renaissance period and the Age of Discoveries. 

Today, the Tower of Belém is a cultural and tourist symbol of Portugal. It is one of the country's most visited monuments, attracting thousands of tourists annually. It serves as a representation of the Age of Portuguese Discoveries and maritime expansion.

Composta de 84 peças divididas em 20 folhas para imprimir, este belo modelo de papel da Torre de Belém, em Potugal, foi criado pelo designer e modelista japonês Kouichi Kaji, exclusivamente para o site da Canon. 

A Torre de Belém, localizada em Lisboa, é um dos marcos mais emblemáticos de Portugal e foi construída entre 1514 e 1519 durante o reinado de Manuel I.

Old Town Long Lane in Wangen Paper Model Diorama In 1/160 Scale by Ausschneide Bogen

This paper model showing a section of the Long Alley in the old town of Wangen consists of 248 pieces divided into 8 printed sheets. 

Perfect for dioramas, RPGs and wargames, the Long Alley diorama is offered by the Ausschneide Bogen website and is in N scale (1/160 scale). 

The Lange Gasse (Long Alley) runs along the front of the last row of houses in Argen, in the former tanners' quarter of the free imperial city of Wangen, between Bindstraße and Argenufer. 

The houses on this street were originally built from the city wall with large river pebbles. The building complex is located opposite the city garden, part of which was built for the 2024 State Garden Exhibition. 

This historic city complex represents the houses and their inhabitants busy with their business as they were in the 1950s, and the author of this papercraft, Mr. Dieter Welz, lived in one of these houses, number 63, with the bench next to the door. 

He says that, like many other houses of the time, it had no sewage system and there was only a cold water tap in the kitchen and a wood stove for cooking. The laundry room on the second floor was only used with extreme caution, and the roof terrace was used for drying clothes. 

A man who had a cart with a steam-powered saw would go from house to house offering his service, which was to saw the most varied pieces of wood that were used for the wood-burning stove and fireplaces. 

Every now and then a scissor sharpener or a barrel organ would pass by on the street. The Buchmann bus company, a little further up the river, had a Setra bus that ran the Long Alameda route. 

There were also occasional floods, and on these occasions the alleys leading to the Argen River were closed with thick planks to at least prevent further flooding. 

This model can be built at different levels of difficulty, from a simpler model to a professional model with LED lighting, and includes various accessories to represent the style of the old city of this period when, as the author points out, life was simpler and more communal than it is today.

Este modelo de papel que mostra um trecho da longa alameda situada na parte velha da cidade Wangen é composto de 248 peças divididas em 8 folhas impressas. 

Perfeito para Dioramas, RPG e Wargames, o diorama da Longa Alameda é oferecido pelo site Ausschneide Bogen e está na escala N (escala 1/160). 

O Lange Gasse (Longa Alameda) corre ao longo da frente da última fileira de casas no Argen, no antigo bairro dos curtidores de couro da cidade imperial livre de Wangen, entre Bindstraße e Argenufer. 

As casas desta rua foram originalmente construídas a partir da muralha da cidade com grandes seixos de rio. O conjunto edificado fica em frente ao jardim da cidade, parte que foi construída para a Mostra Estadual de Jardins de 2024.

Este conjunto histórico da cidade representa as casas e seus moradores ocupados em seus afazeres, tais como eram na década de 1950 e o autor deste papercraft, o Sr. Dieter Welz, foi morador de uma dessas casas, a de número 63, com o banco ao lado da porta. 

Ele diz que, como muitas outras casas da época, não tinha sistema de esgoto e havia apenas uma torneira de água fria na cozinha e um fogão a lenha para cozinhar. A lavanderia do 2º andar só podia ser utilizada com extremo cuidado e a varanda na cobertura era usada para secar roupa. 

Um senhor que tinha uma carreta com uma serra movida a vapor passava de casa em casa oferecendo seu serviço que era o de serrar as mais variadas peças de madeira que eram usadas para o fogão a lenha e para as lareiras. 

De vez em quando passavam pela rua um amolador de tesouras ou um realejo. A empresa de ônibus Buchmann, um pouco mais acima no rio, tinha um ônibus Setra que fazia a rota da Longa Alameda. 

Também ocorriam inundações de vez em quando e nessas ocasiões os becos que levavam ao rio Argen eram fechados com tábuas grossas para ao menos impedir uma maior inundação. 

Este modelo pode ser construído em diferentes níveis de dificuldade, desde um modelo mais simples até um modelo profissional com iluminação de LED, e inclui diversos acessórios para representar o estilo da cidade velha deste período quando, como ressalta o autor, a vida era mais simples e comunitária do que hoje em dia.

Roman Castrum In Romania Paper Model - Revised Version by Papermau - Download Now!

Created and originally published on the blog in January 2012, here is the Roman Castrum in Romania, ready for download.

This model was made using Sketchup to draw the basic lines, then this first model was unfolded in Pepakura. 

The resulting templates were opened in MsPaint, to apply textures and flaps and to fix small errors. 

I revised this model in 2017, since the originals from 2012 were on separate sheets in JPG format. 

I put everything together in a single PDF file, which makes it easier to print and also avoids scale errors, which are common when printing several sheets separately. 

There is also another PDF with detailed instructions and many photos showing the step-by-step assembly of the Roman Castrum. 

A castrum was a type of military fortification built by the ancient Romans. It was often rebuilt, according to immediate military needs. 

This model is loosely based on the entrance gate of one of these fortresses, located in Porolissum, an ancient Roman settlement in Dacia, Romania. Porolissum was a Roman city in Dacia. 

Founded in 106 AD as a military camp, in 124 AD it became the capital of Dacia Porolissensis. 

Located near the city of Moigrad, in Salaj, it is one of the best preserved archaeological sites in Romania.

Criado e originalmente publicado aqui no blog em Janeiro de 2012, eis o Roman Castrum in Romania, pronto para download. 

Este modelo foi feito usando Sketchup para desenhar as linhas básicas, então este primeiro modelo foi desdobrado no Pepakura. 

Os templates resultantes foram abertos no MsPaint, para aplicação de texturas e abas e para consertar pequenos erros. 

Eu revisei este modelo em 2017, já que os originais de 2012 estavam em folhas separadas em formato JPG. 

Juntei tudo em um único arquivo PDF, o que facilita na hora da impressão e também evita erros de escala, algo comum quando se imprime várias folhas separadamente. 

Também há outro PDF com instruções detalhadas e muitas fotos mostrando o passo a passo da montagem do Roman Castrum. 

Castrum era uma espécie de fortificação militar construída pelos antigos Romanos. Muitas vezes ela era recontruída, de acordo com as necessidades militares imediatas. 

Este modelo é baseado livremente no portão de entrada de uma dessas fortalezas, localizado em Porolissum, uma antiga ocupação romana em Dacia, na Romênia. 

Porolissum foi uma cidade Romana na Dácia. Fundada em 106 d.C. como um campo militar, e em 124 d.C. tornou-se a capital da Dácia Porolissensis. 

Situada próxima a cidade de Moigrad, em Salaj, é um dos mais bem preservados sítios arqueológicos da Romênia.

Old Viennese Gas Station Miniature Papercraft - by Hannah Heiermann

This beautiful 1/160 scale paper model of an old Viennese gas station was created by artist and architect Hannah Heiermann. 

The model is very well designed, it's not difficult to assemble and it's amazing that it's a first job. 

Let's hope Hannah gets excited about the hobby and creates new papercrafts. I, as an enthusiast of mainly architectural models, will wait for that. 

I asked Hannah to write a few lines for this post and she kindly sent me the text below: 

"This papermodel shows a Viennese gas station, out of use and located in Nordwestbahnhof, a former train station and logistic hub in the northern centre of the city. 

The area of Nordwestbahnhof is being replanned and a huge housing complex is to be built until 2035, including the demolition of the gas station. 

This papermodel is meant as a shared archiving of this place. The model was made for the exhibition 411041348728 which took place in this specific gas station.

Este belo modelo de papel na escala 1/160 de um antigo posto de gasolina vienense foi criado pela artista e arquiteta Hannah Heiermann. 

O modelo é muito bem projetado, não é difícil de montar e é incrível que seja um primeiro trabalho. 

Vamos torcer para que Hannah se entusiame com o hobby e crie novos papercrafts. Eu, como um entusiásta de principalmente modelos arquitetônicos, vou ficar esperando por isso.

"Este modelo de papel mostra um posto de gasolina vienense, fora de uso e localizado em Nordwestbahnhof, uma antiga estação ferroviária e centro logístico no centro norte da cidade.
