This hand drawn house papercraft, Retro Print Version, is a reinterpretation of a model previously published here on the blog in April 2022. Based on the original blank templates, this version explores the use of artificial intelligence to apply textures while fully preserving the structure and proportions of the model.
Using the original templates previously published here on Papermau, I decided to experiment with color and surface detail. After several attempts that resulted in distortions and misaligned parts, this version finally achieved a good balance, with all dimensions preserved and all fitting points intact. Instead of generating a completely new model, the textures were carefully applied over the original design.
The result ended up creating an unexpected visual effect. The layered colors and subtle variations resemble old printing processes such as screen printing or early offset printing, where each color was applied separately. Small imperfections and slight misalignments, common in those techniques, gave personality to printed materials, especially in commercial illustrations and packaging from the 1940s and 1950s.
This papercraft has a final look that feels like a manually printed piece, almost as if each color had been stamped individually. Even though this was not planned from the beginning, it works very well for papercraft, keeping all parts clear and easy to assemble without compromising the build.
The model is provided as a PDF template in two sheets, with a simple and intuitive assembly, making it suitable for beginners as well as more experienced hobbyists looking for a quick and visually interesting project.
In the third image of this post, you can see the original version of the model without textures, displayed alongside a Hot Wheels car in 1/64 scale, serving as a reference for size. This comparison helps to better understand the proportions and also suggests possible uses of the model.
Because of its retro textures and aged look, this version can work very well as a diorama scenery for classic miniature vehicles, especially models from brands such as Hot Wheels, Matchbox, GreenLight or Johnny Lightning, particularly those representing cars from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

I intend to continue exploring this approach, combining traditional papercraft with digital tools. This is still a process of trial and error, but it opens interesting possibilities, not to replace manual work, but to expand the ways we can create paper models.

Baseado nos templates originais em branco, esta versão explora o uso de inteligência artificial para aplicar texturas, preservando totalmente a estrutura e as proporções do modelo.
Utilizando os templates originais já publicados aqui no Papermau, resolvi experimentar a aplicação de cores e texturas. Depois de várias tentativas que resultaram em distorções e peças fora de proporção, esta versão finalmente chegou a um bom equilíbrio, com todas as dimensões respeitadas e todos os encaixes preservados. Em vez de recriar o modelo, as texturas foram aplicadas diretamente sobre o desenho original.
O resultado acabou gerando um efeito visual interessante e inesperado. As cores aplicadas em camadas, com pequenas variações, lembram processos antigos de impressão, como serigrafia ou offset mais simples, onde cada cor era aplicada separadamente. Pequenos desalinhamentos e variações, comuns nessas técnicas, davam personalidade a materiais impressos, principalmente em ilustrações comerciais e embalagens das décadas de 1940 e 1950.
O modelo final ficou com essa aparência de impressão manual, quase como se cada cor tivesse sido aplicada com carimbos diferentes. Mesmo não sendo algo planejado desde o início, o resultado funciona muito bem para papercraft, mantendo as peças claras e sem comprometer a montagem.
O modelo é disponibilizado em um template PDF com duas folhas, com montagem simples e intuitiva, sendo indicado tanto para iniciantes quanto para modelistas mais experientes que procuram um projeto rápido e com um visual diferenciado.
Logo acima, na terceira imagem deste post, é possível ver a versão original do modelo, sem texturas, ao lado de um carrinho Hot Wheels na escala 1/64, servindo como referência de tamanho. Essa comparação ajuda a entender melhor as proporções e também sugere possíveis usos para o modelo.
Por conta do visual retrô e das texturas envelhecidas, esta versão funciona muito bem como cenário para miniaturas de veículos clássicos, especialmente modelos das marcas Hot Wheels, Matchbox, GreenLight ou Johnny Lightning, principalmente carros das décadas de 1940, 1950 e 1960.
