Halloween Special - Halloween Coffin Box With A Cute Haunted Scene
by Sasatoku Printing

Halloween coffin gift box free printable papercraft by Sasatoku Printing, featuring cookies and a cute haunted scene with ghosts, bats and pumpkins

This cute Halloween papercraft was created by the Japanese company Sasatoku Printing and is part of its Pepakura Pack collection. It is a coffin-shaped paper box that can be used to hold candies, cookies or small gifts, but it also has a little surprise inside: a colorful, not-so-scary haunted scene that makes it a charming Halloween decoration.

Inside the coffin, you will find two friendly ghosts, a mysterious castle under a full moon, bats, trees, fences and smiling Jack-O'-Lanterns. The different layers of paper give the scene a nice three-dimensional effect, almost like a miniature paper theater. Despite the spooky theme, everything looks more cute than scary, making this a fun project for Halloween.

The complete project occupies three A3 sheets, including the coffin-shaped box and all the decorative pieces. You can arrange the little accessories as you like, creating your own Halloween scene. On the original website, you will also find a step-by-step video tutorial showing how to assemble the model, which is especially helpful if you are not familiar with this type of papercraft.

Since the original website is entirely in Japanese, here is a little help with downloading the templates. Next to the photo of the finished boxes, you will find three buttons. The black one leads to the terms of use, while the red one opens a YouTube video showing the finished boxes, although it is not exactly a tutorial. To download the templates, click the yellow button. A new window will appear in Japanese, but you can translate it by right-clicking and selecting your browser's translation option. In this window, select the first option on the left, which corresponds to personal, non-commercial use, and then click the button below to continue. Another window will open with a new yellow download button.

Halloween coffin gift box free printable papercraft by Sasatoku Printing, showing a cute haunted scene with ghosts and a closed coffin-shaped gift box

Halloween Special - Jack-O'-Lantern Pop-Up Card - by Kagisippo

Halloween Jack-O'-Lantern free printable pop-up card by Kagisippo, displayed on a vintage bookshelf with old books and cobwebs.

Created by Japanese designer Kagisippo, this charming Halloween pop-up card features a smiling Jack-O'-Lantern that rises from the card when it is opened. The pumpkin has a funny carved face and is accompanied by a decorative banner with the words Happy Halloween! It is a simple but very clever paper project, perfect for this time of year.

One of the nicest things about this model is that the templates come without filled-in colors, so you can print them directly on colored paper or even use paper with different patterns and textures. Another possibility is to print the pieces on white paper and let the kids color them however they like. This way, every card can become something unique, with its own colors and personality.

The templates are provided in B5 format, and Kagisippo also offers a video showing how to assemble the card. There are even alternative pieces for the pumpkin's expression and the Halloween greeting. Since we are in October and Halloween is just around the corner, I thought this would be a nice little project to feature here today.

And this is just one of the many creative pop-up cards available for free on Kagisippo's website. As you can see in the third image of this post, there are plenty of other designs for different occasions, so it is definitely worth taking some time to explore the collection.

Halloween Jack-O'-Lantern free printable pop-up card by Kagisippo, featuring a smiling 3D paper pumpkin and a Happy Halloween banner.

Halloween Special - Four Halloween Nesting Gift Boxes Papercraft
by Sasatoku Printing

Four Halloween nesting gift boxes papercraft by Sasatoku Printing, featuring pumpkins, a haunted house, candy and spooky decorations

These cute Halloween gift boxes were created by the Japanese company Sasatoku Printing and are part of a collection of paper packages inspired by traditional Russian matryoshka dolls, those wooden dolls that fit inside one another.

The set consists of four boxes of different sizes, all decorated with Halloween motifs. The idea is simple and fun: when you open the largest box, you find a smaller one inside, and so on, until you reach the last one.

Matryoshka dolls first appeared in Russia at the end of the 19th century and became one of the country's best-known handicrafts. Although they are traditionally made of wood and represent human figures, the idea of placing one piece inside another eventually inspired toys, packages, and decorative objects around the world. In this case, Sasatoku adapted the concept to paper and gave it a fun Halloween touch.

Besides being used as small decorations, these boxes can also hold candy, little gifts, or party favors. One interesting idea is to put a different surprise inside each box, turning the opening of the set into a little game. They can also be given away separately, since each one works as an individual package.

Another advantage of this project is that it doesn't require any special materials. Paper, scissors, glue, and a little patience are enough to assemble the set. If you want sturdier boxes, you can use slightly thicker paper, especially if you plan to put candy or small objects inside them.

Sasatoku offers the templates as free PDF downloads, with files for A4 and A3 or larger paper sizes. This allows you to choose the most suitable size for your needs, whether as table decorations, party favor boxes, or simply another papercraft for your collection.

Since the original website is entirely in Japanese, here is a little help with the download process. Next to the picture of the finished boxes, you will find three buttons. The black one leads to the terms of use, while the red one opens a YouTube video showing the finished boxes, although it is not exactly a tutorial. To download the templates, click the yellow button. A new window will appear in Japanese, but you can translate it by right-clicking and selecting the translate option in your browser. In this window, select the first option on the left, for personal, non-commercial use, and then click the button below to continue. Another window will open with two yellow download buttons, one labeled A3 and the other A4. Be sure to download both PDF files, as each contains a different part of the collection, and you will need both to complete the entire set of Halloween boxes and accessories.

Halloween Special - A Wonderful Halloween Papercraft Collection
From Japan - by Keisuke Saka - via Kirin

Halloween papercraft collection by Keisuke Saka for Kirin Japan, featuring haunted houses, a flying witch, pumpkins, a candy basket, a Halloween wreath, a witch hat and monster masks.

Here is a charming Halloween papercraft collection created by Japanese designer Keisuke Saka and made available for free by Kirin, the famous Japanese beverage company. The collection includes a spooky haunted house with blue roofs, a witch flying on her broomstick, a Halloween night diorama, Jack-O'-Lantern pumpkins, a candy basket, a colorful Halloween wreath, and a set of funny masks and a witch's hat.

What I particularly like about these models is their colorful, old-fashioned appearance, which reminds me of the paper decorations and toys we used to find in magazines and children's activity books. The haunted house, with its blue roofs, tall towers and mysterious windows, is especially nice, and the little witch, with her pointed nose, purple hat and broomstick, has a personality all her own. I also like the Halloween night diorama, with its huge yellow moon, twisted tree, bats and ghosts. All these models look great together, as you can see in the pictures.

The collection is divided into six downloadable PDF files, with a total of 25 pages, including the templates and instructions. The Jack-O'-Lantern pumpkins and candy basket come in a four-page PDF, while the haunted house also requires a four-page file. The Halloween night diorama has three pages, and the little flying witch comes in another three-page PDF. The Halloween wreath has four pages, and the largest file, with seven pages, contains the Halloween costume set, including the witch's hat and the Frankenstein and bat masks.

Another nice thing about this collection is that you can choose to build just one or two models or put together an entire Halloween display. The pumpkins and candy basket make lovely little decorations, while the haunted house, the witch and the moonlit diorama can be combined to create a miniature spooky scene. And, of course, the masks and witch's hat add a little extra fun for a Halloween party.

These papercrafts are perfect for a Halloween decoration project, especially if you enjoy making things out of paper with your children. Just print the templates, get your scissors and glue ready, and have fun!

Individual Halloween papercraft models by Keisuke Saka for Kirin Japan, showing a pumpkin candy basket, flying witch, haunted house, moonlit diorama, Halloween wreath, witch hat and monster masks.

Halloween Special - A Cute Witch, Duskull And Jack-O'-Lantern Papercraft Collection - by Tanaka Masahiko

Halloween papercraft collection by Tanaka Masahiko featuring a cute blonde witch, Pokémon Duskull and two smiling jack-o'-lantern pumpkins in different sizes.

Halloween doesn't always have to be about frightening monsters, creepy creatures and haunted houses. Sometimes, a little witch with a friendly smile, a curious ghostly Pokémon and a couple of cheerful pumpkins are more than enough to bring some Halloween spirit to your desk or bookshelf. And that is exactly what we have here, thanks to Japanese designer Tanaka Masahiko, who created this lovely little collection of paper toys.

The collection consists of three different papercrafts: a cute little witch, the Ghost-type Pokémon Duskull, known in Japan as Yomawaru, and a traditional Jack-O'-Lantern pumpkin. In the photograph shared by the author, the pumpkin appears in two different sizes, making the group look like a small family of Halloween characters. Together, they form a charming little scene that is much more adorable than frightening.

Each model has its own personality. The little witch, with her blonde hair, pointed hat and black dress, looks like a character straight out of a Japanese anime. Duskull, with its unusual skull-shaped face, large eyes and mysterious appearance, adds a slightly spooky touch to the collection. And then there are the pumpkins, with their angular shapes and cheerful expressions, proving that even the simplest paper models can have plenty of character.

One of the nicest things about this collection is that each model fits on just a single sheet of paper. That's right, only one sheet for the little witch, one for Duskull and one for the pumpkin! According to Tanaka Masahiko, the models were designed using Art of Illusion, Pepakura Designer, Inkscape and some tools developed by himself. The author also provides a difficulty rating for each papercraft: one star for the pumpkin, two stars for Duskull and three stars for the little witch. So, if you're a beginner, the pumpkin might be a good place to start.

What I particularly like about these little paper toys is how well they work together. Although each model can be displayed individually, placing them side by side creates a miniature Halloween scene with a distinctly Japanese charm. You don't need an elaborate diorama or a complicated background to make them look good. A small corner of a shelf, a desk or even a windowsill is enough to give these characters a place to call home during the Halloween season.

All three templates are available for free as separate PDF files on Tanaka Masahiko's page at the Japanese platform Note. They are a nice little project for a quiet afternoon of cutting, folding and gluing, and since each one requires only a single sheet of paper, you can build the whole collection without using much material. If you're looking for something cute, simple and a little different to decorate your home this Halloween, these Japanese paper toys are definitely worth a look.

Four Halloween papercrafts by Tanaka Masahiko arranged side by side: a smiling jack-o'-lantern, a blonde witch in a black dress, Pokémon Duskull and a smaller pumpkin.

Halloween Special - Two Cute Haunted House Papercraft Dioramas
by Made To Be A Momma

Colorful Halloween haunted house papercraft diorama with smiling ghosts, pumpkins, a bat and a full moon, by Made To Be A Momma.

Halloween doesn't always have to be scary. Sometimes a haunted house can be a cheerful little place, with smiling ghosts, friendly bats, colorful pumpkins and children dressed up for trick-or-treating.

Created by Katie, from the Made To Be A Momma website, these two cute Halloween papercraft dioramas are simple projects designed especially for children, although I think they can be enjoyed by paper modelers of all ages.

There are two different scenes to choose from. The first features a crooked haunted house surrounded by ghosts, pumpkins and a little bat flying under the moon. The second shows another Halloween house, this time with two costumed children ready to collect their treats.

Both templates are in black and white, so you can color them however you like before cutting out the pieces. Once assembled, the circular base allows the little scenes to stand on their own, making them nice decorations for a desk, shelf or windowsill.

One thing I particularly appreciate about this project is how easy it is to get the templates. They are available as a free PDF directly on the original website, without having to subscribe, register or provide an email address. Just find the printable link, click and save the file.

All you need is some paper, colored pencils or markers, scissors and a little glue. A simple and enjoyable Halloween activity for a quiet afternoon at home or in the classroom.
