Easy-To-Build Subaru WRX STI NBR Challenge 2016 Papercraft by Subaru Japan

Straight from the official Subaru Japan website, here is a super easy-to-build papercraft, perfect for kids (and adults too) of the Subaru WRX STI NBR Challenge 2016. 

This race car was created by Subaru Tecnica International (STI) specifically to take on the tough challenge of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in Germany, one of the most difficult and prestigious races in the world.

Based on the 2014 street version of the WRX STI, the car was heavily modified to withstand the harsh conditions of the German track, with upgrades to the engine, suspension, aerodynamics, and more. 

In May 2016, this speedster won the SP3T class (turbocharged cars up to 2.0 liters) for the second year in a row, completing 121 laps, over 3,000 km, in just 24 hours. 

The driver team, made up of Carlo van Dam (Netherlands), Hideki Yamauchi (Japan), Tim Schrick and Marcel Lasée (both from Germany), showed great skill and determination, even facing heavy rain and hail during the race. 

A fun model, full of history, and a great way to introduce the little ones to the world of papercraft and racing cars.

Esse carro de corrida foi criado pela Subaru Tecnica International (STI) especialmente para encarar a dura prova das 24 Horas de Nürburgring, na Alemanha, uma das corridas mais difíceis e prestigiadas do mundo. 

Baseado no modelo de rua WRX STI 2014, o carro foi todo preparado para aguentar o tranco do circuito alemão, com modificações no motor, suspensão, aerodinâmica e muito mais. 

Em maio de 2016, esse bólido venceu pela segunda vez seguida a categoria SP3T (carros turbo até 2.0 litros), completando 121 voltas, mais de 3.000 kms, em 24 horas. 

A equipe de pilotos, formada por Carlo van Dam (Holanda), Hideki Yamauchi (Japão), Tim Schrick e Marcel Lasée (ambos da Alemanha), mostrou muita garra, mesmo enfrentando chuva pesada e até granizo. 

Um modelo divertido, cheio de história e ótimo para introduzir os pequenos no mundo do papercraft e dos carros de corrida.

Mooneyes & Speed Rascal Slingshot Dragster Paper Toys In SD Style by Papermau - Download Now!

These paper toys of two SD-style (super deformed) slingshot dragsters each fit on a single printed sheet and are very easy to assemble. 

One of them is the Mooneyes, inspired by the famous dragster of the same name, the kind that even people who know nothing about drag racing have probably seen somewhere. The other is the Speed Rascal, an original creation of mine. 

If you place a coin inside the rear section (as shown in the sixth photo), the little car will tilt upward, as if launching in a wheelie toward the finish line. 

The Mooneyes Dragster, created by Dean Moon in the late 1950s, is one of the most iconic slingshot dragsters of the golden age of drag racing. 

With the engine up front and the driver seated behind the rear axle, this style of car made its mark on American tracks, especially in the Top Gas category, which used gasoline as fuel. 

More than just speed, the Mooneyes stood out for its bold design and the unmistakable yellow "eyes", the symbol of the Mooneyes brand, which became a global icon in the custom and hot rod culture. 

In 1963, the Mooneyes made history as the first American dragster to compete in Japan, during a demonstration event that helped popularize American motorsports in the country and laid the foundation for the Japanese custom scene. 

Today, the Mooneyes Dragster is more than just a racing machine, it's an automotive culture icon, a symbol of an era when creativity and speed went hand in hand.

Estes paper toys de dois slingshot dragsters em estilo SD (super deformado) ocupam apenas uma folha impressa cada um e são bem fáceis de montar. 

O Mooneyes foi inspirado no famoso dragster homônimo que até quem não sabe nada de corridas de dragsters já deve ter visto em algum lugar, e o outro é o Speed Rascal, uma invenção minha. 

Se você colocar uma moeda na parte traseira, por dentro (sexta foto), o carrinho ficará empinado, em uma arrancada rumo a linha de chegada. 

O Mooneyes Dragster, criado por Dean Moon no final dos anos 1950, é um dos mais emblemáticos slingshot dragsters da era dourada do drag racing. 

Equipado com motor dianteiro e piloto posicionado atrás do eixo traseiro, esse estilo de carro marcou época nas pistas americanas, especialmente na categoria Top Gas, que utilizava gasolina como combustível. 

Mais do que velocidade, o Mooneyes se destacou pelo visual arrojado e pelos inconfundíveis "olhinhos" amarelas, símbolo da marca Mooneyes, que virou referência na cultura custom e hot rod mundial. 

Em 1963, o Mooneyes fez história ao ser o primeiro dragster americano a competir no Japão, durante uma exibição que ajudou a popularizar o automobilismo americano no país e lançou as bases para a cena custom japonesa. 

Hoje, o Mooneyes Dragster é mais do que uma máquina de corrida: é um ícone da cultura automotiva, símbolo de uma era onde criatividade e velocidade andavam lado a lado.

High Lift Loader Miniature Paper Model - by All Nippon Airways via Canon

Occupying just a single sheet of paper, this model of an airport cargo vehicle, known as a High Lift Loader or High Elevation Freighter, is offered by All Nippon Airways and can be downloaded from Canon’s website. 

Despite fitting on one sheet, the model is articulated, allowing its platform to move up and down, mimicking the functionality of the real vehicle. 

In airport operations, luggage, cargo, and mail, packed into aircraft-specific containers, are transported to the aircraft’s cargo hold using a high lift loader. 

These vehicles, often referred to as high elevation loaders, are long and require skill to operate. 

The model’s cargo platform moves up and down as well as forward and backward, lifting the items placed on it to the height of the aircraft’s cargo hold. It then uses rollers to slide the load into the compartment. 

Typically, these vehicles feature an adjustable lifting platform that matches the height of the aircraft’s cargo hold, a roller system to facilitate container movement, front and rear lifting capabilities, and compatibility with various types of aviation containers. 

An interesting tidbit about this papercraft is that it’s only available on the Japanese version of Canon’s website, making it a unique find for enthusiasts.

Ocupando apenas uma folha de papel, este modelo de um veículo de carga de aeroporto, conhecido como Cargueiro de Alta Elevação ou High Lift Loader, é oferecido pela All Nippon Airways e está disponível para download no site da Canon. 

Mesmo sendo compacto o suficiente para caber em uma única folha, o modelo é articulado, permitindo que a plataforma suba e desça, simulando o funcionamento do veículo real. 

Na operação de um aeroporto, bagagens, cargas e correspondências, acondicionadas em contêineres próprios para aeronaves, são transportadas até o porão de carga da aeronave por meio de um veículo de carga de alta elevação. 

Esses veículos, chamados carregadoras de alta elevação, são longos e exigem habilidade para serem conduzidos. 

A plataforma de carga do modelo se movimenta para cima e para baixo, além de para frente e para trás, elevando os itens colocados sobre ela até a altura do porão da aeronave. Em seguida, utiliza roletes para deslizar a carga para dentro do compartimento. 

De modo geral, esses veículos possuem uma plataforma elevatória ajustável à altura do porão da aeronave, um sistema de roletes para facilitar o deslocamento dos contêineres, capacidade de elevação tanto na parte frontal quanto traseira e são compatíveis com diversos tipos de contêineres aéreos. 

Uma curiosidade interessante sobre este papercraft é que ele só está disponível na versão em japonês do site da Canon, tornando-o uma descoberta especial para os entusiastas.

Mad Max - Ford Falcon XB GT Interceptor Papercraft In 1/32 Scale by Paper Model Studio

This papercraft of the Ford Falcon XB GT Interceptor, available in two versions, was created by the talented Japanese designer and modeler Masahiro Kushima, from Paper Model Studio website. 

Mr. Kushima recreated the Interceptor in the versions from the first and second films of the Mad Max saga. 

Both models fit on just one printed sheet, are easy to assemble, and are in 1/32 scale. 

The Ford Falcon XB GT, an Australian model from the 1970s, was brutally modified to fit into the post-apocalyptic universe of Mad Max. 

Below is a summary of the two iconic versions of the vehicle: 

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) - In the second part of the saga, the car, known as the "Interceptor", is a heavily modified black Ford Falcon XB GT. 

Its design was altered to emphasize ruggedness and aggression, incorporating structural reinforcements, exposed metal details, and a worn-out look, making it perfect for the hostile and desolate atmosphere of the film. 

Its imposing appearance and warrior-like style cemented the vehicle as a pop culture icon, symbolizing the struggle for survival in a chaotic world. 

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) - In the third part of the franchise, the Interceptor returns in black but with modifications that reflect the aesthetic evolution of the Mad Max universe. 

While maintaining its aggressive essence, this version exhibits even more pronounced wear and tear and adaptations that align with the new challenges of the film, reinforcing the sense of decay and improvisation typical of the post-apocalypse. 

The vehicle’s reuse and adaptation help visually connect the different chapters of the saga, symbolizing both continuity and transformation within this unforgiving universe.

Transformers - Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379 Semi-Truck Papercraft by Paper Replika

Created by Indonesian designer and model maker Julius Perdana from the Paper Replika website, this Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379 papercraft in 1/72 scale faithfully represents the long and robust semi-truck that appeared in the 2007 film Transformers. 

With an imposing and stylized look, it stands out with its iconic red and blue flames on the hood, one of the signature features of this version of the character. 

Director Michael Bay aimed for a more modern and striking design for the big screen, choosing the Peterbilt 379, one of the most iconic trucks in the United States. 

The selected model featured a long, curved hood, setting it apart from the boxy appearance of the original 1980s Optimus Prime. 

To make it even more distinctive, stylized flames were added, giving it a dynamic touch and setting it apart from conventional truck designs. 

During filming, three identical Peterbilt 379 trucks were used for different scenes: one for road shots and others adapted for special effects. 

The truck also underwent several customizations, including taller chrome exhaust pipes and an extended chassis, enhancing its on-screen presence. 

Additionally, its wheels were fitted with special lighting, highlighting details in night scenes. 

The model in the first image of this post was built by model maker Mido's Vibes from Egypt. 

He also recorded a one-hour tutorial video, detailing each step of assembling the Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379. 

I found the video so well-made and useful that I decided to share it here as well.

Criado pelo designer e modelista indonésio Julius Perdana, do site Paper Replika, este papercraft na escala 1/72 do Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379 representa fielmente o caminhão semi-truck longo e robusto que apareceu no filme Transformers (2007). 

Com um visual imponente e estilizado, ele se destaca pelas icônicas chamas vermelhas e azuis no capô, uma das marcas registradas dessa versão do personagem. 

O diretor Michael Bay buscava um design mais moderno e impactante para as telonas, optando pelo Peterbilt 379, um dos caminhões mais icônicos dos Estados Unidos. 

O modelo escolhido possuía um capô longo e curvado, diferenciando-se do visual quadrado do Optimus Prime original dos anos 80. 

Para torná-lo ainda mais marcante, foram adicionadas chamas estilizadas, conferindo um toque dinâmico e afastando-o da aparência tradicional dos caminhões convencionais. 

Durante as filmagens, três Peterbilt 379 idênticos foram utilizados para diferentes cenas: um para tomadas de estrada e outros adaptados para efeitos especiais. 

O caminhão também passou por diversas customizações, como escapamentos mais altos, cromados e um chassi alongado, reforçando sua imponência na tela. 

Além disso, suas rodas receberam iluminação especial, destacando os detalhes em cenas noturnas. 

O modelo da primeira imagem deste post foi montado pelo modelista Mido's Vibes, do Egito. Ele também gravou um vídeo tutorial de uma hora, detalhando cada etapa da montagem do Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379.
