Zombie Grinder - The Post-Apocalyptic Armored Car Paper Model

I grew up watching post-apocalyptic movies (Mad Max, The Day After, Soylent Green, Waterworld, The Omega Man) and zombie movies (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later), and when I was a kid I really thought that when I was an adult, the world would be something like what I saw in these movies.

Well, today I don't live in such a world, despite the socialists' efforts to create something like that. We had Holodomor in Soviet Ukraine in the 1930s, and currently we have an attempt to do something like that in Venezuela and Argentina (edited: Argentina seems to be moving away from this destiny), but I can't say that we live in a post-apocalyptic world.

Even so, it's always good to imagine ways to survive in chaotic times and this vehicle is my contribution to that.

The entire model takes up just three printed sheets and there is no single way to assemble it. I left several pieces scattered across the sheets so you can use your imagination and build an unique vehicle.

Eu cresci assistindo filmes pós-apocalípticos (Mad Max, The Day After, Soylent Green, Waterworld, The Omega Man) e filmes de zumbís (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later), e quando eu era criança eu realmente achava que quando eu fosse adulto, o mundo seria algo parecido com o que eu via nesses filmes.

Bem, hoje eu não vivo em um mundo assim, apesar do esforço dos socialistas em criar algo do gênero. Tivemos Holodomor na Ucrânia Soviética da década de 1930 e, atualmente temos a tentativa de fazer algo parecido assim na Venezuela e na Argentina (editado: a Argentina parece estar se afastando desse destino), mas não posso dizer que vivemos em um mundo pós-apocalíptico.

Mesmo assim sempre é bom imaginar meios de sobreviver em tempos caóticos e esse veículo das imagens é minha contribuição para isso.

O modelo todo ocupa apenas três folhas impressas e não há uma forma única de montá-lo. Eu deixei várias peças espalhadas pelas folhas para que você use sua imaginação e construa um veículo único.

Created by the designer and modeler Gollum999, from "The Papercraft Blog" website, here is a perfect paper version of Dog, the robot, just as it appears in the video game Half-Life 2.

In "Half-Life 2," DOG is a non-playable character (NPC) and an ally of the protagonist, Gordon Freeman.

DOG is a robot built by the scientist Eli Vance, and its main feature is its exceptional physical strength.

It plays a significant role in the story, assisting Gordon in various situations throughout the game, such as removing obstacles, creating safe passages, and battling enemies.

DOG is known for its unique and friendly personality, providing moments of comedic relief during the more serious narrative of "Half-Life 2."

Its presence is memorable for players who have experienced the game.

You will find the model in two formats: PDF and PDO (Pepakura), so you can print the model with the PDF format and use the PDO format as guide, because it can be visualized in 3D.

GTA Chinatown Wars - Hellenbach Paper Model - by Rockstar Games

This papercraft of the Vapid Hellenbach could originally be downloaded from the official Rockstar Games website.

Today it is no longer available there, but as I had the templates saved on my HD, I decided to share them here on the blog, making it clear that the model was created by Rockstar Games.

I just combined the various templates that were separated into sheets in JPG format and gathered them all into a single document in PDF format, thus eliminating the possibility of printing the separate sheets at different scales.

For those interested in the model, the download is free, easy and safe, directly from Google Drive.

The Vapid Hellenbach is a muscle car featured in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. It is notable for its use as the official gang car of the Triads.

The Hellenbach boasts impressive performance, with high speed and above average acceleration. Its cornering abilities are quite good and it can get around sharp turns easily. Its durability is slightly below the average, making it a poor choice for vehicular combat.

The Triad variant is slightly faster than the standard model. Its top speed is also increased slightly, apparently as a result of a nitrous oxide modification (this can be heard during initial acceleration, which creates sounds similar to those of Grand Theft Auto IV's Sultan RS).

The Triads use the vehicle as their official gang car during the events of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, with several modifications. The Triad variant features a light purple/lavender paintjob, with a white stripe running the length of the vehicle, as well as blue neon underglow visible only at night.

Prominent silver bumpers and sideskirts are also added, which can be seen clearly when viewing the vehicle at the auto merchant in BOABO.

Like the Hellenbach GT, the name is a play on the phrase "to hell and back", a phrase used to denote the extreme reliability of a vehicle by its owner.

Hoje ele não está mais disponível lá, mas como eu tinha os tempaltes salvos em meu HD, resolvi compartilhá-los aqui no blog, deixando claro que o modelo é criação da Rockstar Games.

Eu apenas juntei os vários tempaltes que estavam separados em folhas no formato JPG e reuni todos em um único documento no formato PDF, eliminando assim a possiblidade de imprimir as folhas avulsas em escalas diferentes.

O Hellenbach apresenta desempenho impressionante, com alta velocidade e aceleração acima da média. Suas habilidades nas curvas são muito boas e ele pode contornar curvas fechadas facilmente. Sua durabilidade está um pouco abaixo da média, tornando-o uma má escolha para combate veicular.

A variante Triad é um pouco mais rápida que o modelo padrão. Sua velocidade máxima também aumentou ligeiramente, aparentemente como resultado de uma modificação de óxido nitroso (isso pode ser ouvido durante a aceleração inicial, que cria sons semelhantes aos do Sultan RS de Grand Theft Auto IV).

As Tríades usam o veículo como carro oficial da gangue durante os eventos de Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, com diversas modificações. A variante Triad apresenta uma pintura roxa clara/lavanda, com uma faixa branca percorrendo toda a extensão do veículo, bem como luz neon azul visível apenas à noite.

Também foram adicionados pára-choques e saias laterais prateados proeminentes, que podem ser vistos claramente ao visualizar o veículo na loja de automóveis em BOABO.

Assim como o Hellenbach GT, o nome é uma brincadeira com a frase "para o inferno e para trás", frase usada para denotar a extrema confiabilidade de um veículo por seu proprietário.

Created by designer Rob Ives exclusively for the Brother website, here are three beautiful decorative potted plant papercrafts so you can create your own terrarium and not have to worry about remembering to water them.

The only precaution I recommend is not leaving your vases in direct sunlight, as this will make the colors fade.

For the cactus pots you will only need to print five sheets, but for the fern pot and succulent pots you will need to print twelve and 15 sheets respectively.

This number of leaves is because ferns and succulents are printed on both sides of the foliage, but if you want to save ink, you can print only the top side of the foliage, which is the side that is visible, so you only need to print half of the leaves.

O único cuidado que eu recomendo é não deixar seus vasos sob luz direta do sol, pois isso fará as cores desbotarem.

Para os vasos de cactus você precisará imprimir apenas cinco folhas, mas para o vaso de samambaia e para as suculentas, você precisará imprimir doze e 15 folhas, respectivamente.

Essa quantidade de folhas se dá porque as samambaias e a ssuculentas têm impressão dos dois lados das folhagens, mas se você quiser economizar tinta, pode imprimir apenas o lado de cima das folhagens, que é o lado que fica visível, assim você só precisará imprimir a metade das folhas.
