Two Examples of the Real Thing

The Hannya mask is a mask used in Japanese Noh theater, representing a jealous female demon or serpent. It possesses two sharp bull-like horns, metallic eyes, and a leering mouth split from ear to ear. The name hannya is a Sino-Japanese word for prajna or wisdom. One tradition states that this name was given to this mask because it was the name of an artist monk Hannya-bō who is said to have perfected its creation. Another explanation is that Perfection of Wisdom sutras and their variations were considered to be particularly effective against female demons. An alternate explanation is that the artist would need a great deal of wisdom in order to create this mask. The Hannya mask is used in many noh and kyōgen Japanese plays, as well as in Shinto ritual kagura dances. The Hannya mask portrays the souls of women who have become demons due to obsession or jealousy. Plays in which a person may wear the hannya mask include Aoi no Ue and Dōjōji; its use in these two plays, two of the most famous of the Noh repertoire, and its distinctive and frightening appearance make it one of the most recognizable Noh masks. The Hannya mask is said to be demonic and dangerous but also sorrowful and tormented, displaying the complexity of human emotions. When the actor looks straight ahead, the mask appears frightening and angry; when tilted slightly down, the face of the demon appears to be sorrowful, as though crying. The oldest hannya mask is dated 1558. Hannya masks appear in various skin tones: a white mask indicates a woman of aristocratic status (such as Rokujō in Aoi no Ue), a red mask depicts a low-class woman (seen in Dōjōji), and the darkest red depicts true demons (revealed after appearing as women, as in Momijigari and Kurozuka.) - To view and print this model you will need Pepakura Viewer Free Version (link at the end of this post).

Hannya é uma máscara dotada de dentes ameaçadores, boca grande e chifres. Existe um conceito de um inferno, no budismo japonês, em que Hannyas são a representação dos confusos sentimentos humanos como a paixão, ciúme, e ódio, capazes de transformar homens e mulheres nesse terrível monstro. O que justifica o por quê de atores do tradicional teatro japonês se utilizarem de tal máscara em suas performances nas representações das histórias para transmitir uma identidade, uma personalidade nebulosa aos seus personagens. This really beautiful assembly of The Old Sobrado, made by designer and modeler Tapcho, was posted at Paper Modelers Forum in 2010, but just today I saw this. Is amazing how Tapcho created a complete new model with this simple house. I almost did not recognize my model with all the details created by Tapcho. He deserves all the credit for this work. He simply created a new model and I say without envy that I would like have done this! Thanks, Tapcho, I really apreciate your work!

Hatsune Miku is a singing synthesizer application with a humanoid persona, developed by Crypton Future Media. It uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2 and Vocaloid 3 synthesizing technology. The name of the character comes from merging the Japanese words for first (初 hatsu), sound (音 ne) and future (Miku (ミク) sounds like a nanori reading of future, 未来, normally read as "mirai"), referring to her position as the first of Crypton's "Character Vocal Series". She was the second Vocaloid sold using the Vocaloid 2 engine, and the first Japanese Vocaloid to use the Japanese version of the Vocaloid 2 engine. Her voice is sampled from Japanese voice actress, Saki Fujita. Hatsune Miku has performed at her concerts onstage as an animated projection. Nele é possível mudar o guarda-roupa de Miku e das outras personagens incluídas no jogo, KAITO, MEIKO, Rin, Len e até Haku e Neru, Vocaloids fanmade que foram adotadas pela companhia. Em 2010 foi lançado Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd, um jogo similar ao primeiro, com algumas mudanças, como mais personagens e músicas novas. Nesta versão, Neru e Haku receberam vozes próprias (Derivadas de Rin e Miku, respectivamente.) Toys In The Attic - by Papermau - Vintage Wood Cabinet Clock

This model has about three years and I forget it completely. Looking the model by Time Splitter I remember me and so I search in my HD and find it. So here is the Vintage Wood Cabinet Clock, in several colors. The idea is the same of Time Splitter: a cheap clock engine of one of those Chinese one dollar clock. This model was originally posted on the blog in August 16, 2011.

Este modelo já fiz há uns três anos e tinha me esquecido completamente dele. Aí, vendo o modelo do Time Splitter, me lembrei e saí procurando no meu HD. Achei, e então, aqui está: um relógio estilo vintage como aqueles do início do século passado, em várias cores. O funcionamento é feito com um desses mecanismos de relógios chineses de loja de um real. Este modelo foi originalmente postado aqui no blog em 16 de Agosto de 2011.

About Toys In The Attic by Papermau:

Toys in the Attic is the third album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in April 1975. Is also a name of a 1963`s drama movie with Dean Martin and Geraldine Page. Now, because this is a really nice name, this will be the name of a new session of Papermau`s blog. In this session I will share old original and exclusive paper models posted more than a year here in the blog. It's a way of not letting these models get lost among over 3,000 posts in the two years of the blog.

Toys in the Attic (Brinquedos no Sotão) é o nome do terceiro album da banda norte-americana de rock Aerosmith, lançado em 1975. É também o nome de um drama para o cinema de 1963 chamado aqui no Brasil de Na Voragem das Paixões, que contava no elenco com Dean Martin (o parceiro do Rat Pack e de Jerry Lewis) e Geraldine Page. Agora, porque eu acho esse um título muito legal, Toys in the Attic será o nome de uma nova sessão do blog Papermau. Nesta sessão eu publicarei antigos modelos de papel originais e exclusivos postados há um ano ou mais. Esta é a maneira que encontrei para que estes modelos não fiquem perdidos e esquecidos entre mais de três mil postagens feitas em dois anos de existência do blog.
