Hand-Drawn Haunted Mansion Parlor Diorama Papercraft by Disney Imagineers

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is a papercraft model made available through the Disney Paper Parks: Happy Haunts Edition series, created by the talented Imagineers Stephanie Jazmines and Amy Young. 

This particular model was inspired by the themed lounge that debuted on the Disney Treasure, a Disney Cruise Line ship, in December 2024. 

The activity set includes printable sheets that allow fans to build a 3D replica of the Haunted Mansion Parlor. 

The details include the lounge façade, the main bar area, and elements such as armchairs and cabinets that compose the interior space. 

For the best results, it is recommended to print the sheets at their original scale, without resizing. Assembly requires the use of scissors, glue, and folding along the indicated dotted lines. Adult supervision is advised, especially for children. 

This papercraft offers Disney fans a fun and creative way to bring a piece of the Haunted Mansion magic into their homes, celebrating the attraction’s rich history and charming design. 

The papercraft models available on the Disney Parks Blog were hand-drawn by talented Imagineers from Walt Disney Imagineering. 

The term Imagineer combines the words "imagination" and "engineer", reflecting the blend of artistic creativity and technical expertise involved in designing Disney park attractions. 

Among the leading contributors to the Disney Paper Parks series are Stephanie Jazmines and Amy Young, who have worked on various editions. In the special edition inspired by The Haunted Mansion attraction, Imagineer Audrey Aronoff also contributed to the façade designs. 

Additionally, Jazmines and Young collaborated with Disney Live Entertainment costume designers to ensure the authenticity of the paper dolls of Mickey and Minnie, featured in another edition of the series. 

These models offer fans the opportunity to recreate iconic Disney attractions and characters at home, using only paper, scissors, and glue. 

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is a themed bar and lounge experience inspired by Disney’s iconic The Haunted Mansion attraction. 

Announced as part of the Disney Treasure cruise ship, the setting combines a haunted Victorian aesthetic with classic mansion elements, including ghosts, special effects, and themed cocktails. 

The bar features an original storyline about a mysterious ghostly captain who haunts the venue, expanding the world of the classic attraction. 

The drinks served in the lounge are inspired by iconic elements of the Haunted Mansion, with some featuring special effects, such as mist or color-changing properties. 

Additionally, the bar offers exclusive souvenirs, such as a goblet inspired by the mansion’s ghosts, a perfect collectible for Haunted Mansion fans.

WWI`s Fokker Dr-1 Triplane Paper Model In 1/66 Scale - by Hautetfort

Sébastien Hautetfort is a creative French designer and model maker who creates paper models by hand, meaning he draws everything directly on a sheet of paper, requiring an exceptional sense of proportion and spatial perception. 

This involves the ability to visualize objects and spaces in three dimensions and understand their relationships of depth, height, and width. 

An example of Sébastien's skills is this 1/66 scale paper model of the famous First World War airplane, the Fokker Dr-1, piloted by Baron von Richthofen, also known as the Red Baron.

The entire model, including the instructions, was meticulously handmade and scanned. The result can be seen in the photos of this post, which shows the Fokker Dr-1 constructed by Sébastien himself. 

The Fokker Dr-1 is a famous combat aircraft from the First World War, primarily used by Germany. It was designed in 1917 by Fokker-Flugzeugwerke and entered service in October of the same year.

Its most famous pilot was Baron Manfred von Richthofen, also known as the "Red Baron". 

Although it became famous, the Fokker Dr-1 had some problematic characteristics, such as its tendency to unexpectedly spin in flight due to its triplane design. It was considered difficult to pilot and required exceptional skill from the pilot to maneuver successfully. 

Despite its limitations, the Fokker Dr-1 is remembered as one of the icons of First World War aviation, largely due to its association with pilot Manfred von Richthofen, the Red Baron. 

Manfred von Richthofen shot down 80 enemy aircraft during his career as a fighter pilot, becoming one of the most famous aces in aviation history. 

He was known for painting his aircraft bright red, hence the nickname "Red Baron", which became synonymous with his fame. 

He painted his aircraft red for identification and propaganda reasons. He wanted to be easily recognized by his fellow pilots and enemies during aerial combat. 

Additionally, the color red had a psychological impact, potentially intimidating opponents and boosting the morale of allies. 

The distinctive bright red color also served as a sort of status symbol, setting him apart from other pilots and reinforcing his reputation as one of the leading aces of First World War aviation. 

Despite his reputation as a relentless hunter of enemy aircraft, the Red Baron was respected and admired by his adversaries, considered a gentleman and a skilled leader. He was killed in aerial combat in April 1918, near the village of Vaux-sur-Somme, France. 

Richthofen was flying his Fokker Dr-1 aircraft, as usual, when he engaged in a confrontation with enemy aircraft. During the battle, the Red Baron was hit by a single shot, which struck him in the chest, piercing his lung and heart. 

Despite being mortally wounded, Richthofen managed to land his aircraft, but died shortly thereafter, at the age of 25. 

The identity of the shooter who downed the Red Baron remained a mystery for decades. Initially, credit was given to Canadian pilot Roy Brown of the Royal Air Force, but later evidence suggests that the fatal shot may have come from an Australian ground weapon, with Arthur Roy Brown being just one of those who fired at the Red Baron. 

Despite the controversial circumstances surrounding his death, the Red Baron was buried with military honors, and his death marked the end of the legendary career of one of the most famous aces of First World War aviation.

Sébastien Hautetfort é um criativo designer e modelista francês que cria modelos de papel à mão, ou seja, ele desenha tudo diretamente em uma folha de papel, o que exige um senso de proporção e percepção espacial excepcional. 

Isso envolve a habilidade de visualizar objetos e espaços em três dimensões e entender suas relações de profundidade, altura e largura. 

Um exemplo das habilidades de Sébastien é este modelo d epapel na escala 1/66 do famoso avião da Primeira Grande Guerra, o Fokker Dr-1, pilotado pelo Barão von Richthofen, também conhecido como Barão Vermelho.

Ele foi morto em combate aéreo em abril de 1918, perto da vila de Vaux-sur-Somme, na França. Richthofen estava voando em sua aeronave Fokker Dr-1, como de costume, quando se envolveu em um confronto com aeronaves inimigas. 

Durante o combate, o Barão Vermelho foi atingido por um único tiro, que o atingiu na região do tórax, perfurando seu pulmão e o coração. 

Apesar de ter sido ferido mortalmente, Richthofen ainda conseguiu pousar sua aeronave, mas morreu pouco depois, aos 25 anos de idade. A identidade do atirador que abateu o Barão Vermelho permaneceu um mistério por décadas. 

Inicialmente, o crédito foi dado ao piloto canadense Roy Brown, da Royal Air Force, mas evidências posteriores sugerem que o tiro fatal pode ter vindo de uma arma terrestre australiana, sendo Arthur Roy Brown apenas um dos que atiraram no Barão Vermelho. 

Apesar das circunstâncias controversas em torno de sua morte, o Barão Vermelho foi sepultado com honras militares e sua morte representou o fim da carreira lendária de um dos mais famosos ases da aviação da Primeira Guerra Mundial.

The Pizzeria - A Hand Drawn Paper Model - by Somodi Zoltan

It's been a long time since I posted a paper model by the Hungarian designer Somodi Zoltan, so today I present here on the blog another beautiful creation of this creative modeler: the Pizzeria. 

Somodi Zoltan has a very unique style and its models are hand-drawn and in black and white, for children to exercise their creativity by coloring them. 

This particular model is available in two versions: one in black and white and one in colored pencils by Zoltan himself.

Faz bastante tempo que eu não postava um modelo de papel do designer húngaro Somodi Zoltan, então hoje apresento aqui no blog mais uma bela criação deste criativo modelista: a Pizzeria. 

Somodi Zoltan tem um estilo muito próprio e seus modelos são desenhados à mão e em preto e branco, para as crianças exercitarem sua criatividade colorindo-os. 

Este modelo em particular está disponível em duas versões: uma em preto e branco e outra em cores com lápis de cor pelo próprio Zoltan.
