This papercraft model represents the Siebelfähre SF 311, a Rhine River ferry used in the period following World War II, when many bridges had been destroyed and alternative means of transportation became essential.

Created by the German group Kallboys, this is model number 97 from the Mondorfer Bastelbögen series, well known for recreating historical subjects with a strong sense of realism, detail and context.

The Siebelfähre ferries were originally developed during the war and later adapted for civilian use, helping reconnect cities such as Bonn and Beuel by transporting vehicles, goods and passengers across the Rhine.

This model is presented in 1:72 scale and its numbers are truly impressive, with 1309 parts distributed across 83 pages, including 51 pages of detailed instructions and 32 printable sheets with the parts themselves. It goes far beyond the ferry alone, also including vehicles, figures and a display base, forming a complete historical scene.

Because of the high level of complexity and the large number of parts, many of them very small, this is clearly not a project for just any modeler, but rather for those who are organized, extremely patient and highly meticulous, also requiring good eyesight to deal with the finest details.

As with other releases in this series, the model can be assembled using basic tools such as scissors and a craft knife, and it also includes files suitable for laser cutting for those who prefer that option.

This is a challenging project especially recommended for experienced modelers and for anyone who appreciates historical subjects, realistic dioramas and richly detailed papercraft models.

Criado pelo grupo alemão Kallboys, este é o modelo número 97 da série Mondorfer Bastelbögen, conhecida por recriar temas históricos com grande senso de realismo, riqueza de detalhes e contexto.

As balsas do tipo Siebelfähre foram originalmente desenvolvidas durante a guerra e depois adaptadas para uso civil, ajudando a reconectar cidades como Bonn e Beuel ao transportar veículos, mercadorias e passageiros através do rio.

O modelo está na escala 1:72 e impressiona pelos números, são 1309 peças distribuídas em um total de 83 páginas, sendo 51 páginas de instruções detalhadas e 32 folhas com as peças para impressão. The model represents the Altes Postdörfle with great accuracy and was specially designed for railway modeling in N and M scales 1/160. Kempenich And Niederzissen Railway Station Papercraft In 1/87 Scaleby F-ES-B Modellbau

While browsing the F-ES-B Modellbau blog, already featured here on Papermau in several posts, I came across a papercraft that will definitely please anyone who enjoys railway buildings and models inspired by real places. 

The model represents the old Kempenich station, together with Niederzissen station, both connected to the traditional Brohltalbahn, a small German railway full of charm and history. It is the kind of model that stands out not only for its looks, but also for the story behind it. 

According to the author, his interest in Kempenich station had been there for a long time, until one cold winter day he decided to visit the place in person, taking photos and closely observing the building’s details. 

From there, he began gathering images from different periods, comparing changes, textures and small architectural elements, gradually turning all this research into a very appealing paper model. The result is a papercraft in 1/87 scale, the classic H0, making it a perfect match for railway layouts and dioramas in this scale. 

The model is available as a PDF with a total of 10 pages, 8 of them filled with parts to cut out and assemble, plus 2 pages dedicated to instructions. 

One especially nice feature is the possibility to choose between different historical versions of the building, showing the station in different moments in time, as well as Niederzissen station in its current appearance. This gives builders plenty of freedom, whether they want to recreate a specific era or simply change the look of the final model. 

As with any good papercraft of this kind, the project only requires the basics: printing, glue, scissors or a craft knife, a bit of patience and that attention to detail every paper modeler is already familiar with.
