The Big Bang Theory - Sheldon And Leonard's Apartment Playset by Action Figure Theatre

This perfect paper model version of Sheldon and Leonard's apartment, from The Big Bang Theory tv series, was created by British designer Phil, from Action Figure Theatre website. This play set diorama is in a scale for 5¨figures.

The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, which premiered on September 24, 2007, on CBS. 

The show follows the lives of a group of nerdy friends and their social interactions, particularly focusing on Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki), two physicists working at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). 

The series ran for 12 seasons and concluded on May 16, 2019, after 279 episodes. 

Some interesting facts about The Big Bang Theory:

Jim Parsons never watched Star Trek or Doctor Who, despite his character Sheldon being a huge fan of both series. 

Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy Farrah Fowler, is actually a PhD in neuroscience, just like her character.

Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki (Penny and Leonard) were romantically involved in real life during the early years of the show, but kept their relationship a secret to avoid affecting the cast dynamics. 

The number of Sheldon and Leonard's apartment (4A) was chosen as a tribute to physicist Stephen Hawking, as the number 4 represents the theory of spatial dimensions, something related to the scientific discussions on the show.

Sailboat Amaya Miniature Paper Model - by Jesus Maria López

Occupying two sheets of paper and all designed in beautiful pixel art, probably made in MsPaint or some other old image editor, this beautiful paper model of a sailboat, the Amaya, was created by my friend, the Spanish designer and modeler Jesus Maria López, from Los Barcos de Papel website. 

Jesus Maria built this sailboat with her little daughter and we can see that they worked very well as a team and I bet they had a very pleasant time together. 

The scale is not mentioned, but I believe that modeling friends who appreciate nautical models can calculate it based on the templates.

Ocupando duas folhas de papel e todo desenhado em uma bela arte pixelada, provavelmente feita no MsPaint ou algum outro antigo editor de imagens, este belo modelo de papel de um veleiro, o Amaya, foi criado pelo meu amigo, o designer e modelista espanhol Jesus Maria López, do site Los Barcos de Papel. 

Jesus Maria construiui este veleiro com sua filhinha e podemos ver que eles trabalharam muito bem em equipe e aposto que passaram um tempo muito agradável juntos. 

A escala não é mencionada, mas creio que os amigos modelistas que apreciam modelos náuticos possam calculá-la baseando-se nos templates.

A Simple Pyramid With Portico - A 2016 Original Paper Model by Papermau - Download Now!

This is a very simple paper model of a pyramid with a portico, to be used in Dioramas, RPGs, Wargames or Schoolwork. 

This model was originally published here on the blog in January 2016 and the template is in Pepakura format, so to view and print the pyramid you will need the Pepakura Viewer Free Version. 

When the file opens, you will be asked for a password. Just ignore it and click on the "open with Pepakura Viewer" option that appears just below the password space.

If you don't already have the Pepakura Viewer Free Version program, the link to download it is at the end of this post. 

In 2021 I published another pyramid, but it was a more classic one, without the portico. In the third image of this post you see a photo of the assembled model and below, in addition to the link to the pyramid with portico, I will also leave the link to this pyramid. 

The entrance to a pyramid covered by a canopy or portico may be called the "entrance portico". 

In more specific terms of ancient architecture, especially in Egyptian contexts, this type of structure may be referred to as pylons, which are large monumental entrances that often have a covering or decorative structure in front.

Este é um modelo de papel bem simples de uma pirâmide com um pórtico, para ser usado em Dioramas, RPG, Wargames ou Trabalhos Escolares. 

Este modelo foi originalmente publicado aqui no blog em Janeiro de 2016 e o template está no formato Pepakura, então para visualizar e imprimir a pirâmide você precisará do Pepakura Viewer Versão Gratuíta. 

Quando o arquivo abrir, vai ser pedido uma senha. Apenas ignore e clique na opção "abra com o Pepakura Viewer" que aparece logo abaixo do espaço de senha.

Em 2021 eu publiquei outra pirâmide, mas era uma mais clássica, sem o pórtico. Na terceira imagem deste post você vê uma foto do modelo montado e logo abaixo, além do link para a pirâmide com pórtico, também deixarei o link para essa pirâmide. 

A entrada de uma pirâmide coberta por uma marquise ou pórtico pode ser chamada de "pórtico de entrada". 

Em termos mais específicos de arquitetura antiga, especialmente em contextos egípcios, esse tipo de estrutura pode ser referida como pílone, que são grandes entradas monumentais que muitas vezes têm uma cobertura ou estrutura decorativa na frente.
