Saleen S7 Super Car Papercraft In 1/24 Scale - by SeyforeG

Created by the talented Russian designer SeyforeG Design Papercraft, this impressive paper model reproduces the Saleen S7-R GT1, one of the most iconic racing versions of the legendary American supercar Saleen S7. The model represents car number 66 and faithfully captures the aggressive lines, aerodynamic profile and distinctive details that made the S7-R one of the standout competitors in GT and endurance racing during the early 2000s.

The Saleen S7 was developed by Saleen Automotive in collaboration with Steve Saleen and British engineer Ray Mallock, who was responsible for the chassis, suspension and aerodynamic design. Officially unveiled in 2000 during the Monterey Historic Races in California, the car was conceived from the very beginning to compete in the world's most prestigious endurance events. From this ambition came the Saleen S7-R GT1, a competition version specifically built for championships such as FIA GT, the American Le Mans Series and the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

According to the designer, this model was created with special attention to the shapes and proportions of the original vehicle. The parts were refined and carefully organized to simplify the assembly process without compromising the final appearance, resulting in an elegant and highly accurate papercraft model. Although it is not an excessively complex build, it does require patience and dedication to achieve the best results.

This papercraft is offered in two formats: a nine-page printable PDF and a .PDO file, which can be viewed with the Japanese program Pepakura Viewer Free Version. You can then use the PDF templates to print the model pieces normally, while the PDO file serves as an excellent assembly guide, as it allows you to view the model in 3D and rotate all parts freely during construction. This is especially helpful for those who don't have much experience with papercraft.

Embora não seja um modelo excessivamente complexo, ele exige dedicação e um pouco de experiência para alcançar um resultado de qualidade.

Este papercraft é oferecido em dois formatos: um PDF de nove folhas imprimíveis  e outro em formato .PDO, que pode ser visualizado com o programa japonês Pepakura Viewer Free Version. Vater Rhein Mechanical Street Organ Paper Model In 1/24 Scaleby Kallboys

This curious paper model of the Vater Rhein street organ is offered by the talented German designers from Kallboys, creators of the excellent Mondorfer Bastelbögen collection, or Mondorf Paper Models. Published in 2024 as Bastelbogen Number 89, the model represents an elaborate mechanical street organ decorated with motifs inspired by the culture, history and landscapes of the Rhine Valley.

The so-called Drehorgeln, known in English as street organs or barrel organs, were for many years a common sight at fairs, public squares and marketplaces throughout Europe. Operated manually by a hand crank, these ingenious musical machines reproduced melodies through mechanisms composed of bellows, pipes, bells and various mechanical components. Beyond their musical function, many of them were true works of traveling art, richly decorated with sculptures, paintings and ornamental details.

Although the Vater Rhein organ is an exclusive creation by Kallboys, it was inspired by a real historic organ called Jupiter, built around 1900 by the famous French company Gavioli. The original instrument is preserved at the Draaiorgel Museum, or Street Organ Museum, in the city of Haarlem, in the Netherlands. The designers themselves visited the museum to record measurements and details of the original piece, using this information as the basis for developing the model.

The result is an extremely elegant papercraft decorated with representations of Vater Rhein, the legendary figure who personifies the Rhine River, accompanied by two of the traditional Rhine Maidens. The front façade also features illustrations inspired by the Rheinromantik, or Rhine Romanticism, an artistic movement that celebrated the castles, vineyards, legends and landscapes of the Rhine region.

Designed in 1/24 scale, the model consists of 198 parts and, when completed, measures approximately 19.6 centimeters in length, 7.7 centimeters in width and 13 centimeters in height. The PDF file contains 21 pages (six with the pieces), including an interesting historical introduction about street organs, photographs of the assembled prototype, illustrated step-by-step instructions and all the parts required for construction. The authors recommend using paper with a weight of approximately 120 g/m², complemented by 0.5 mm and 1 mm cardboard reinforcements for the structural sections.

An interesting detail is that this model does not have its own dedicated page on the Kallboys website. To find it, visitors simply need to browse the Mondorfer Bastelbögen section, where 97 original free models are currently available. The collection includes historic buildings, monuments, vehicles, boats, fairground attractions, railway scenery and many other subjects related to the history and culture of the Rhine region.

For enthusiasts of unusual historical subjects and highly detailed decorative models, this beautiful Rhine-themed street organ certainly deserves a special place in any papercraft collection.

Publicado em 2024 como o Bastelbogen Número 89, o modelo representa uma elaborada organeta mecânica decorada com motivos inspirados na cultura, na história e nas paisagens do Vale do Reno.

As chamadas Drehorgeln, conhecidas em português como organetas ou órgãos de rua, foram durante muitos anos uma presença comum em feiras, praças e mercados de diversas cidades europeias. Acionadas manualmente por uma manivela, essas engenhosas máquinas musicais reproduziam melodias através de mecanismos compostos por foles, tubos, sinos e pequenas peças mecânicas. Além de sua função musical, muitas delas eram verdadeiras obras de arte ambulantes, ricamente decoradas com esculturas, pinturas e ornamentos.

Embora a organeta Vater Rhein seja uma criação exclusiva dos Kallboys, ela foi inspirada em uma organeta histórica real chamada Jupiter, construída por volta de 1900 pela famosa empresa francesa Gavioli. O instrumento original encontra-se preservado no Draaiorgel Museum, ou Museu das Organetas, localizado na cidade de Haarlem, na Holanda. Os próprios designers visitaram o museu para registrar medidas e detalhes da peça original, utilizando essas informações como base para o desenvolvimento deste modelo.

O resultado é um papercraft extremamente elegante, decorado com representações de Vater Rhein, figura lendária que personifica o Rio Reno, acompanhado por duas das tradicionais Filhas do Reno. A fachada também apresenta ilustrações inspiradas na chamada Rheinromantik, ou Romantismo do Reno, movimento artístico que celebrava os castelos, vinhedos, lendas e paisagens da região.

Projetado na escala 1/24, o modelo é composto por 198 peças e, depois de montado, mede aproximadamente 19,6 centímetros de comprimento, 7,7 centímetros de largura e 13 centímetros de altura. O arquivo PDF possui 21 páginas (seis com peças), incluindo uma interessante introdução histórica sobre as organetas de rua, fotografias do protótipo montado, instruções ilustradas passo a passo e todas as peças necessárias para a construção do modelo. Os autores recomendam o uso de papel com gramatura próxima de 120 g/m², complementado por reforços em papelão de 0,5 mm e 1 mm nas partes estruturais.

Uma curiosidade interessante é que este modelo não possui uma página individual dedicada no site dos Kallboys. Para encontrá-lo, basta visitar a seção Mondorfer Bastelbögen, onde atualmente estão disponíveis 97 modelos originais gratuitos. A coleção reúne edifícios históricos, monumentos, veículos, embarcações, atrações de feira, cenários ferroviários e diversas outras representações ligadas à história e à cultura da região do Reno.

French Workshop Diorama Papercraft For Slot Cars And Miniatures by Carrera4Fun

Created by the German slot car enthusiast and designer F. Rehberg, from the Carrera4Fun website, this excellent French automotive workshop diorama was specially designed for 1/32 scale slot car tracks, but it can also be used in many other types of miniature and slot car scenery.

And, since we are talking about the wonderful hobby of papercraft, with a little knowledge about resizing, or even with some patience, trial and error, this model can also be adapted to other scales, including 1/64, the popular scale of famous diecast brands such as Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Greenlight and similar vehicles.

The model represents a small neighborhood workshop called “Talbot Service”, featuring simple architecture, weathered textures and that classic European appearance that immediately brings to mind the small garages and roadside repair shops commonly seen across France during the 1960s and 1970s.

The most interesting thing about this project is that it is not limited to the exterior building alone. The author created a construction full of small structural details and three-dimensional elements that greatly improve the final realism of the diorama. The assembly photos clearly show how doors, windows, interior walls, roof sections and signs are layered together, creating depth without making the construction overly complicated.

Another very nice detail is that the model features a partially decorated interior, allowing the inside environment to be seen through the front windows. This makes a huge difference when the model is used on slot car layouts, since the vehicles usually run very close to the buildings and the interior details become highly visible. The workshop also features vintage signs, small advertisements and very well-made aged textures, reinforcing the nostalgic atmosphere of the entire scene.

Besides the original 1/32 scale version, ideal for Carrera tracks and other slot car systems, the website also offers a second enlarged 1/24 scale version, perfect for larger miniatures and more detailed automotive dioramas. This makes the project very versatile, allowing each modeler to choose the version that best fits their collection.

Another very positive point is that the tutorial presented on the page is extremely detailed. The author shows virtually every step of the construction process through clear photographs and illustrated explanations, making this project accessible even for beginners in the hobby.

If you enjoy slot cars, old garages, urban dioramas or European automotive scenery, this is certainly a model well worth checking out.

Rehberg, do site Carrera4Fun, este excelente diorama de uma oficina mecânica francesa foi desenvolvido especialmente para pistas de autorama em escala 1/32, mas também pode ser aproveitado em diversos outros tipos de cenários para miniaturas e slot cars.

E, como estamos falando do maravilhoso hobby do papercraft, com um pouco de conhecimento em redimensionamento, ou mesmo com alguma paciência, testes e tentativas, este modelo também pode ser adaptado para outras escalas, inclusive 1/64, a popular escala dos famosos carrinhos Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Greenlight e similares.

O modelo representa uma pequena oficina de bairro chamada “Talbot Service”, com arquitetura simples, fachada envelhecida e aquele visual europeu clássico que imediatamente lembra as pequenas oficinas e postos de serviço vistos nas estradas da França nas décadas de 1960 e 1970.

O mais interessante neste projeto é que ele não se limita apenas ao prédio externo. O autor criou uma construção cheia de pequenos detalhes estruturais e elementos tridimensionais que ajudam bastante no realismo final do diorama. As imagens de montagem mostram claramente como portas, janelas, paredes internas, telhado e placas são montados em camadas, criando profundidade sem tornar a construção complicada demais.

Outro detalhe muito legal é que o modelo possui interior parcialmente decorado, permitindo visualizar o ambiente interno através das vitrines frontais. Isso faz toda a diferença quando o modelo é utilizado em pistas de slot cars, já que os veículos costumam circular próximos às construções e os detalhes internos acabam ficando bastante visíveis. A oficina também apresenta letreiros vintage, pequenas propagandas e texturas envelhecidas muito bem feitas, reforçando ainda mais a atmosfera nostálgica do conjunto.

Além da versão original em escala 1/32, ideal para autoramas Carrera e outros sistemas de slot cars, o site também oferece uma segunda versão ampliada em escala 1/24, perfeita para miniaturas maiores ou dioramas automotivos mais detalhados. Isso torna o projeto bastante versátil, permitindo que cada modelista escolha a versão que melhor combina com sua coleção.

BMW M3 Evolution 1990 Papercraft In 1/24 Scale - by Hartmut Scholz

This is the paper version of the 1990 BMW M3 Evolution, one of the most iconic cars in BMW’s history and a true legend on the racing circuits. 

The papercraft was created by designer Hartmut Scholz and originally published by J. F. Schreiber Verlag at the request of BMW as a promotional model. 

Today it’s available for free download on the German site Kartonmodellbau.org, maintained by the AGK e.V. association, which preserves and shares classic paper models from all over the world. 

The model comes on five A4 sheets, with four pages of parts and one with assembly instructions. It includes 84 parts in total, and when completed, the car measures about 18 centimeters long, in 1/24 scale. 

There’s also an extra correction sheet by Jens Neuhaus, fixing some small color and decal details - a nice example of how active and dedicated the paper model community remains. 

Kartonmodellbau.org is a treasure trove for papercraft enthusiasts, with thousands of models catalogued, many of them rare or historically significant. 

The site not only offers free downloads but also provides extensive information about the history of paper modeling and the designers who helped shape the hobby. 

The BMW M3 Evolution was the high-performance version of the classic E30 series, designed in the late 1980s for touring car racing.

NEAR Shoemaker Papercraft In 1/24 Scale - by Johns Hopkins APL

This papercraft is a cut-out model of the NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft, available on the JHU/APL education website. The idea is that interested followers can download PDF files – instructions and model pages - and build their own paper replica of the spacecraft. 

The NEAR (Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous) Shoemaker was a NASA mission managed by Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. 

The paper model is based on the physical features of the actual spacecraft: shapes, solar panels, antennas, all adapted into paper so that one can cut, fold, glue and assemble a simplified but recognizable version of NEAR Shoemaker. 

By looking at the picture of the boy holding the model, it is possible to make an educated guess about the scale. The papercraft seems to be around 20 to 25 cm long, while the real spacecraft measured about 5.3 meters. 

This would place the model at an approximate scale of 1/24 to 1/25. It is worth noting, however, that the solar panels were simplified in the paper version, which makes this scale only a visual approximation, but still enough to provide a good sense of the NEAR Shoemaker’s proportions. 

There is no clear indication of individual authorship of the model on the page – it was likely created by the APL’s education or outreach team. I also couldn’t find the exact date of the papercraft’s release or of the photo with the boy holding the model.

However, some clues suggest both the material and the picture are quite old. The picture of the boy with the assembled model shows a very “old school” setup: the computer behind him uses a tube monitor (CRT), typical of the 1990s or early 2000s. 

The keyboard and peripherals also look dated. These visual details indicate that the photo was taken before the popularization of flat-panel monitors (LCD), likely in the late 1990s or early 2000s. 

As we can see, both the website and the photograph carry signs of their time. The style of the webpage, the graphic design and the CRT monitor all reinforce this impression. 

It is plausible that the model was created during or shortly after the mission, which took place between 1996 and 2001.

Este papercraft é um modelo recortável do spacecraft NEAR Shoemaker, disponibilizado no site de educação da JHU/APL. A proposta é que seguidores interessados baixem arquivos em PDF - instruções + páginas do modelo - e montem eles mesmos uma réplica em papel da espaçonave. 

O NEAR (Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous) Shoemaker foi uma missão da NASA, gerenciada pelo Applied Physics Laboratory da Johns Hopkins.

Não há indicação precisa de autoria individual do modelo dentro da página - provavelmente foi feito pela equipe de educação ou divulgação do APL. Tampouco encontrei uma data exata de publicação original do papercraft ou da foto com o menino montando o modelo. 

Contudo, alguns indícios permitem inferir que tanto esse material quanto a fotografia são relativamente antigos. A foto do garoto com o modelo montado mostra um ambiente tecnológico “old school”: o computador atrás dele parece utilizar monitor de tubo (“CRT”), cujo estilo é típico das décadas de 1990 ou início dos anos 2000. 

O teclado e os periféricos também aparentam ser modelos antigos. Essas pistas visuais indicam que a foto foi tirada numa época anterior à popularização de monitores planos (LCD), sugerindo datar do final dos anos 1990 ou começo dos anos 2000. 

Como podemos ver, tanto o site quanto a fotografia têm traços de época. O estilo da página, o design gráfico e o computador de tubo reforçam essa impressão. 

É plausível que o modelo tenha sido criado durante ou logo após a missão, que aconteceu entre 1996 e 2001.
