Created by talented German designer and modeler Jens Neuhaus of the Papier Denkmal website and consisting of 191 pieces arranged on six sheets of paper (plus two instruction sheets), this is the 1/160th scale (N scale) paper model of Schwelm Railway Station in Germany.
Mr. Neuhaus says that when a rail link was built between the industrial heartland of Elberfeld and the coalfield of Dortmund in the mid-19th century, other communities along the route were opened to rail transport.
On October 9, 1847, steam locomotives arrived in the small town of Schwelm in southwest Westphalia, where a new railway station opened its doors to great applause.
The initially small building changed continuously until the first half of the 20th century and underwent several extensions and conversions before being partially destroyed in the Second World War.
After the reconstruction, the appearance remained largely unchanged for many decades since the 1950s. For a long time, a restaurant was located in the western part of the building, a taxi company used the extension to the east and lounges were installed on the upper floors.
In 2016, the familiar beige-brown façade was changed and given a new coat of red paint. The urgently needed central renovation began in autumn 2023: Schwelm railway station will now be completely modernized and fundamentally redesigned by a private investor with the transport transition in mind.

O Sr. Neuhaus conta que quando uma ligação ferroviária foi construída entre o reduto industrial de Elberfeld e a jazida de carvão de Dortmund em meados do século XIX, outras comunidades ao longo da rota foram abertas ao transporte ferroviário.
Em 9 de outubro de 1847, as locomotivas a vapor chegaram à pequena cidade de Schwelm, no sudoeste da Vestfália, onde uma nova estação ferroviária abriu suas portas sob grandes aplausos.

Em 2016, a conhecida fachada bege-marrom mudou e recebeu uma nova camada de tinta vermelha. A renovação central urgentemente necessária começou no outono de 2023: a estação ferroviária de Schwelm será agora completamente modernizada e redesenhada fundamentalmente por um investidor privado com a transição dos transportes em mente.
