Lougre De Peche - Fishing Sailboat - A Belgian Vintage Paper Model by Marabout Junior - via Thecmn

This beautiful vintage paper model of a sailing ship was originally published in Belgium around 1950 (I'm not sure) by Marabout Junior, and this copy has been preserved and is now shared by Thecmn, a papercraft collector. 

Marabout Junior was a book collection published by the Belgian publishing house Marabout, founded in 1949. 

Primarily aimed at young readers, the collection covered a wide range of topics, including science, technology, hobbies, and hands-on activities such as model building and papercraft. 

The Marabout Junior books had a distinctive pocket-sized format and featured explanatory illustrations, diagrams, and detailed instructions, making them quite popular between the 1950s and 1970s. 

Within this collection, there were publications dedicated to papercraft and paper modeling, offering detailed cut-and-assemble models such as houses, vehicles, and characters. 

These editions were educational and encouraged young readers to develop motor and creative skills while having fun assembling the miniatures.

Este lindo modelo de papel antigo d eum veleiro foi originalmente publicado na Bélgica por volta de 1950 (não tenho certeza) por Marabout Junior e esta cópia foi preservada e agora é compartilhada por Thecmn, um colecionador de papercrafts. 

A Marabout Junior era uma coleção de livros publicada pela editora belga Marabout, fundada em 1949. 

Voltada principalmente para o público jovem, a coleção abrangia uma ampla variedade de temas, incluindo ciência, tecnologia, hobbies e atividades manuais, como modelismo e papercraft. 

Os livros da Marabout Junior tinham um formato de bolso característico e apresentavam ilustrações explicativas, diagramas e instruções detalhadas, tornando-se bastante populares entre os anos 1950 e 1970. 

Dentro dessa coleção, havia publicações dedicadas ao papercraft e ao modelismo de papel, oferecendo modelos detalhados para recortar e montar, como casas, veículos e personagens. 

Essas edições eram educativas e incentivavam os jovens a desenvolver habilidades motoras e criativas enquanto se divertiam com a montagem das miniaturas.

The Dark Promise - A Menacing Pirate Ship Papercraft by Ray O'Bannon

Composed of 60 pieces spread across 12 printed sheets, this papercraft of an imposing and menacing pirate ship, the Dark Promise, was created by American designer and model maker Ray O'Bannon from the website Raven's Blight. 

Regarding this papercraft, Mr. O'Bannon said: - "Ever daydream of being a pirate? Does the notion of setting sail for the East Indies (and plundering any ships you meet along the way) bring a smile? 

If so, then this paper model should make your inner buccaneer very happy. 

The Dark Promise features ominous black sails, gold-plated hardware, and a nice bright red stripe (said to be painted in human blood)." 

Ray O'Bannon is an artist and designer who creates papercraft models, as well as works with a gothic and steampunk aesthetic. 

He runs the website Raven's Blight, where he offers free paper models, including coffins, steampunk weapons, masks, and haunted buildings. His style is dark yet playful, filled with references to classic horror films. 

In addition to being a designer and papercraft creator, Ray O’Bannon is also a musician and composer. He produces music in the dark ambient, gothic, and alternative rock styles, many of which have an atmospheric feel, reminiscent of classic horror movie soundtracks. 

On Raven’s Blight, he offers many of his songs for free, including full albums and individual tracks. His music perfectly matches the dark universe he explores in his papercrafts and stories. 

He also creates videos and short horror films, reinforcing his macabre and creative identity.

Composto de 60 peças divididas em 12 folhas impressas, este papercraft de um imponente e ameaçador navio pirata, o Dark Promise, foi criado pelo designer e modelista americano Ray O'Bannon, do site Raven's Blight.

A respeito deste papercraft, o Sr. O'Bannon disse: - "Já sonhou acordado em ser um pirata? A ideia de zarpar para as Índias Orientais (e saquear qualquer navio que encontrar pelo caminho) te faz sorrir? 

Se sim, então este modelo de papel deve deixar seu bucaneiro interior muito feliz. 

O Dark Promise apresenta velas negras ameaçadoras, ferragens douradas e uma bela faixa vermelha brilhante (dizem que pintada com sangue humano). 

Ray O'Bannon é um artista e designer que cria modelos de papercraft, além de trabalhos com estética gótica e steampunk. 

Ele mantém o site Raven's Blight, onde disponibiliza modelos gratuitos de papel, incluindo caixões, armas steampunk, máscaras e construções assombradas. O estilo dele é bem sombrio e divertido, cheio de referências a filmes de terror clássicos. Além de designer e criador de papercrafts, 

Ray O’Bannon também é músico e compositor. Ele produz músicas no estilo dark ambient, gótico e rock alternativo, muitas delas com uma pegada atmosférica, lembrando trilhas sonoras de filmes de terror clássicos. 

No site Raven’s Blight, ele disponibiliza várias de suas músicas gratuitamente, incluindo álbuns completos e faixas individuais. O som dele combina bem com o universo sombrio que ele explora em seus papercrafts e histórias. 

Ele também faz vídeos e curtas de terror, reforçando essa identidade macabra e criativa.

A Fireboat Papercraft - by Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg

Offered by the official website of the International Maritime Museum of Hamburg, here is a beautiful fireboat that will delight enthusiasts of ships and all things maritime. Unfortunately, the scale of the model has not been specified. 

By visiting the website, you will also find a few more models that were previously featured on the blog in May 2024: a lighthouse, a fishing boat, and a Viking ship (last photo of this post). 

The lighthouse and the fishing boat were created between 2020 and 2022 in collaboration with the renowned papercraft publisher HMV (Hamburger Modellbaubogen Verlag) on the occasion of the International Ship Modeling Day in Hamburg. 

The Viking ship, on the other hand, was originally designed in 2008 for the museum’s inauguration. 

All four papercrafts have been designed for easy assembly, making them a great choice for both beginner modelers and children.

Oferecido pelo site oficial do Museu Marítimo Internacional de Hamburgo, eis aqui um belo barco de combate a incêndio que fará a alegria dos aficcionados por barcos e coisas do mar. Infelizmente a escala do modelo não foi especificada. 

Visitando o site você vai encontrar ainda vai encontrar mais alguns modelos que já foram publicados aqui no blog em Maio de 2024: um farol, um barco pesqueiro e um barco viking (última foto deste post).

O farol e o barco pesqueiro foram criados entre os anos de 2020 e 2022 em colaboração com a conceituada editora de papercrafts HMV (Hamburger Modellbaubogen Verlag) em ocasião do Dia Internacional de Modelagem Naval em Hamburgo. 

Já o barco viking foi originalmente criado em 2008 para a inauguração do museu. 

Todos os quatro papercrafts foram desenhados de uma forma que sejam fáceis de montar tanto por modelistas iniciantes quanto por crianças.
