Here we are with the fifth part of the assembly the paper model of the Old House. On the previous post I had said that we would start putting all the pieces together, so, lets go!
On the images above and below, you can see the work of reinforcement of the walls, using cardboard, a lot of cardboard. This is important if you do not want your little house begin to warp over time. What's more, if it's to do, let's do it well, or go build Lego kits.
We must not forget to reinforce the structure of the roof too (iamges below).
The roof. And here the problems began. As I drew this template on MsPaint, I did most of the work in 2D, then assembling the 3D model on SketchUp. When I drew the roof, I absentmindedly put the chimney flue on the wrong side. The result can be seen in the image below. I had to redraw and print again.
I printed another roof with the right side of the chimney, and when I glued it, again distractedly I strapped it on the wrong side, with the chimney going to the side of the stairs. I had to "pull it out" with care. Fortunately, as the model had been reinforced on the walls and lining, there was no major damage to the structure. Even so, I decided to stop here for today. More soon.
