Color, Cut and Build Your Own Little Paper Town - Printable Papercrafts for Kids - by Print Box

These charming papercrafts were created especially for children and offer a simple, fun and very creative activity: building a completely personalized little paper town.

The set features houses, small shops, characters, animals and other elements that can be cut out, folded and arranged on an illustrated base filled with streets, trees and open spaces.

The shapes are quite simple, with structures resembling small boxes, making the models accessible even to children having their first contact with the world of papercrafts. Naturally, the use of scissors should always be supervised by an adult.

Once the models are finished, children can arrange the buildings, place the characters around the streets and invent the name, inhabitants and adventures of their own town.

These papercrafts are offered by the Japanese website Print Box, connected to Toyokawa Printing Co., Ltd., also known as Toyokawa Insatsu, a company located in the city of Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

The company works with printing and the creation of advertising and digital materials, while also offering free projects on its website, including these paper models designed for children.

It is an unpretentious but very well-designed project, perfect for an afternoon of family activities, school projects or simply keeping children away from screens for a few hours.

Uma loja pode ganhar uma fachada colorida, novas placas, desenhos nas paredes ou até um nome inventado pela própria criança. Os espaços vazios também permitem acrescentar portas, janelas, flores, árvores, veículos e tudo o que a imaginação sugerir.

Além de estimular a coordenação motora durante o recorte, a dobra e a colagem, a atividade incentiva a criatividade e a criação de pequenas histórias. Depois que os modelos estiverem prontos, as crianças poderão organizar os prédios, distribuir os personagens pelas ruas e inventar o nome, os moradores e as aventuras de sua cidade.

Truck And Caravan Papercraft Set - Revisited After Almost 13 Years by Papermau - Download Now!

Almost thirteen years after its original publication, I am bringing back to Papermau this small set consisting of a truck and a caravan, two simple models that perfectly represent the way I used to create papercrafts at that time and that, in many ways, is still part of my creative process today.

The original post was published in December 2013, when these two vehicles appeared on the blog as some of the final original models of that year. Since then, many things have changed, both at Papermau and in the tools available to those who enjoy creating paper models. Even so, I thought it was worth recovering this project, reorganizing it and presenting it again to a new generation of modelers.

The truck and caravan were drawn and colored almost entirely using the good old MsPaint. All the lines, shapes, colors, body details, wheels, doors, stripes and small parts were created directly in it using very simple tools. The only exceptions are the windows, which received their green gradient effect in Paint.NET. At the time, this small detail helped create the impression of tinted glass and gave the vehicles a little more depth.

It is important to say that, for me, MsPaint is not merely a reminder of an old phase of Papermau. I still create complete papercrafts with it today, from the first sketches to the textures and final details. Even with the existence of much more modern and sophisticated programs, MsPaint remains a valuable and, at least for me, very effective tool. I know its features, its limitations and the small tricks that make it possible to create surprisingly detailed work using such an apparently simple program.

Looking at these models today, it is easy to notice their very geometric and straightforward style. This is not a flaw, but part of their personality. They were designed to be easy to print, cut out and assemble, without excessively small parts or complicated fittings. Their boxy shapes and clearly defined lines also make them good projects for beginners or for anyone looking for a quick and uncomplicated build.

The truck has a look that recalls the small utility vehicles of the 1960s and 1970s. Its red and cream color scheme gives it a cheerful and slightly nostalgic appearance. The caravan follows a similar combination, with a gray upper section, a red lower body and light decorative stripes along its sides. When placed together, the two models form a harmonious set with plenty of personality.

They can be used separately or as part of a small travel scene. They also work very well in dioramas, model railway layouts, role-playing games, wargames and rural or roadside settings. Because of their simple shapes, the models can also be used as a starting point for custom versions, with different colors, license plates, logos, luggage and other small details.

For this republication, I tried to preserve the spirit of the original work completely. I did not redesign the models or try to transform their simple shapes into something more modern. I only prepared a cleaner presentation, with new images showing the truck and caravan from different angles.

After almost thirteen years, this small set remains a reminder that complicated tools are not necessary to create a papercraft. With patience, curiosity and a willingness to experiment, even a simple program such as MsPaint can continue to be an excellent creative tool.

Quase treze anos depois de sua publicação original, trago novamente ao Papermau este pequeno conjunto formado por uma caminhonete e um trailer, dois modelos simples que representam muito bem a maneira como eu criava papercrafts naquela época e que, em muitos aspectos, ainda faz parte do meu processo criativo atual.

A primeira publicação foi feita em dezembro de 2013, quando esses dois veículos apareceram no blog como alguns dos últimos modelos originais daquele ano. Desde então, muita coisa mudou, tanto no Papermau quanto nas ferramentas disponíveis para quem gosta de criar modelos de papel. Mesmo assim, achei que valia a pena recuperar este projeto, reorganizá-lo e apresentá-lo novamente para uma nova geração de modelistas.

A caminhonete e o trailer foram desenhados e coloridos quase inteiramente no velho e bom MsPaint. Todas as linhas, formas, cores, detalhes da carroceria, rodas, portas, faixas e pequenas peças foram feitos diretamente nele, usando recursos bastante simples. A única exceção são as janelas, que receberam aquele efeito degradê em tons de verde no Paint.NET. Na época, esse pequeno detalhe ajudava a criar uma impressão de vidro escurecido e dava um pouco mais de profundidade aos veículos.

É importante dizer que o MsPaint não é, para mim, apenas uma lembrança de uma fase antiga do Papermau. Até hoje continuo criando papercrafts inteiros nele, desde os primeiros esboços até as texturas e os detalhes finais. Mesmo existindo programas muito mais modernos e sofisticados, o MsPaint continua sendo uma ferramenta valiosa e, pelo menos para mim, muito eficaz. Conheço bem seus recursos, suas limitações e os pequenos truques que tornam possível realizar trabalhos bastante detalhados com um programa aparentemente tão simples.

Olhando para estes modelos hoje, é fácil perceber que eles possuem um estilo bastante geométrico e direto. Isso não é um defeito, mas parte de sua personalidade. Eles foram criados para serem fáceis de imprimir, recortar e montar, sem peças excessivamente pequenas ou encaixes complicados. As formas quadradas e as linhas bem definidas também fazem com que sejam bons projetos para iniciantes ou para quem procura uma montagem rápida e descomplicada.

A caminhonete tem um visual que lembra os pequenos veículos utilitários das décadas de 1960 e 1970. O esquema de cores vermelho e creme lhe dá uma aparência alegre e um pouco nostálgica. O trailer segue uma combinação semelhante, com a parte superior cinza, a parte inferior vermelha e faixas decorativas claras nas laterais. Quando colocados juntos, os dois formam um conjunto harmonioso e cheio de personalidade.

Eles podem ser usados separadamente ou como parte de uma pequena cena de viagem. Também combinam muito bem com dioramas, maquetes ferroviárias, jogos de RPG, wargames e cenários rurais ou rodoviários. Como possuem formas simples, os modelos ainda podem servir como ponto de partida para personalizações, mudanças de cores, placas, logotipos, bagagens e outros pequenos detalhes.

Para esta republicação, procurei preservar completamente o espírito do trabalho original. Não redesenhei os modelos nem tentei transformar suas formas simples em algo mais moderno. Apenas preparei uma apresentação mais limpa, com novas imagens mostrando a caminhonete e o trailer por diferentes ângulos.

Depois de quase treze anos, este pequeno conjunto continua sendo uma lembrança de que não é necessário possuir ferramentas complicadas para criar um papercraft. Com paciência, curiosidade e vontade de experimentar, até mesmo um programa simples como o MsPaint pode continuar sendo uma excelente ferramenta de criação.

PaperWheels F1-26 Racing Car Papercraft with Detailed Instructions by Kellen Waugh

This excellent Formula 1 paper car is part of the PaperWheels series and was created by American designer Kellen Waugh, also known in the papercraft world as Kspudw. Kellen is certainly not a newcomer to the hobby, as his cars, stylized vehicles and paper toys have circulated throughout the internet and the papercraft community for many years.

The model presented here is called F1-26, and its file takes up only three printable sheets in PDF format. Despite its detailed appearance and the aerodynamic shapes typical of a modern Formula 1 car, it is made up of only 17 pieces, including the four tires. For this reason, its assembly is much easier than it may appear at first glance.

Even without a manual, a model with so few pieces would already be relatively easy to assemble, but in this case Kellen Waugh went much further. The instructions are provided in a second PDF file containing no fewer than 60 pages, each one featuring a clear illustration showing a small step of the construction, from the initial cutting and scoring to the final joining of the different parts of the car.

Therefore, if your excuse for not building a Formula 1 paper model was that these cars look too complicated, this time there are no more excuses. The instructions are so detailed that they practically guide the modeler piece by piece, fold by fold and glue joint by glue joint.

To obtain a firm and durable model that is still easy to fold, I believe the best choice is to print the three sheets on paper weighing between 160 and 180 g/m². Thinner paper may leave the bodywork a little too fragile, while very heavy cardstock may make it more difficult to form the small curves and folds required to reproduce the aerodynamic lines of the vehicle.

To build the F1-26, you will need only a printer, paper, scissors and white glue. The author also recommends using tweezers to handle the smaller parts and a blunt ruler, an empty ballpoint pen or another suitable scoring tool to prepare the fold lines, ensuring greater precision and a cleaner finish.

The PaperWheels page also features images of cars with liveries inspired by several racing teams, as well as a few special versions. At the moment, however, the only free download available is the F1-26 model featured on the page.

Para obter um modelo firme, resistente e ao mesmo tempo fácil de dobrar, acredito que o ideal seja imprimir as três folhas em papel com gramatura entre 160 e 180 g/m². World War II Willys MB Jeep Miniature Paper Model In 1/72 Scale by Model Lover

This excellent paper model of the classic World War II Willys MB Jeep was created by the talented designer Model Lover for his Paper Army collection. Designed in 1/72 scale, the complete model fits on just one printed sheet and reproduces many of the most characteristic features of this famous American military vehicle.

Despite being a compact model, this little Willys Jeep features many interesting details, including the traditional front grille with round headlights, the hood decorated with the white star of the United States Army, the windshield, steering wheel, dashboard, seats, fenders, bumpers and the spare wheel mounted at the rear.

The open interior also received special attention, with individual seats and small printed details on the dashboard and floor. The wheels have separate sidewalls and tread strips, giving them greater depth and providing the assembled model with a more convincing appearance.

As a nice additional detail, the template also includes a figure of an American soldier in the same scale. The figure can be folded at the arms and legs and placed behind the wheel to drive the Jeep. It also helps give a sense of the vehicle's dimensions and makes it possible to create a small scene or diorama inspired by World War II.

Although the entire model fits on just one sheet, some of the parts are quite small due to the 1/72 scale and require a little patience during cutting and assembly, especially the wheels, windshield and interior details. A pair of tweezers may be very useful, and paper with a weight between 120 and 160 g/m² will probably provide a good balance between strength and ease of handling the smaller parts.

The video prepared by the designer himself presents every stage of the construction and serves as a visual assembly guide, showing the order of the parts and how they should be folded, fitted together and glued.

The vehicle that inspired this papercraft was the Willys MB Jeep, one of the best-known military vehicles in history and one of the great symbols of World War II. Small, rugged, versatile and capable of handling difficult terrain, it was used by the armed forces of the United States and its allies in countless roles, carrying soldiers, officers, equipment, supplies and messages across virtually every major theater of the conflict.

Produced on a large scale between 1941 and 1945, the Willys MB, together with its Ford-built equivalent, the GPW, helped establish the image of the Jeep as a simple, reliable vehicle capable of going almost anywhere. More than 600,000 vehicles based on this design were produced during the war, making its silhouette instantly recognizable, with its open body, flat fenders, folding windshield and characteristic front grille.

Model Lover is already an old acquaintance of Papermau readers. Over the years, several of his models have been featured here on the blog, especially military vehicles, soldiers and historical equipment from his Paper Army collection.

His work has a very distinctive style, combining relatively simple shapes, detailed textures and clever assembly solutions. His models manage to preserve the appearance and most important features of the original vehicles without relying on an excessive number of parts, making them interesting both for experienced modelers and for those looking for compact and accessible projects.

This little Willys MB is another great creation by Model Lover from the Paper Army collection, bringing together history, scale modeling and paper craft in a very well-designed project that fits on just one printed sheet and can be built as a stand-alone model or used in military dioramas in 1/72 scale.

Projetado na escala 1/72, o modelo completo ocupa apenas uma folha impressa e reproduz vários dos elementos mais característicos desse famoso veículo militar americano.

Mesmo sendo um modelo compacto, o pequeno Jeep Willys apresenta muitos detalhes interessantes, incluindo a tradicional grade frontal com faróis redondos, o capô decorado com a estrela branca do Exército dos Estados Unidos, o para-brisa, o volante, o painel, os bancos, os para-lamas, os para-choques e o estepe instalado na parte traseira.

The Giant Restoration Club's Vintage Japanese Vehicle Paper Models Collection - Two New Models Added

Back in 2018 I shared here on Papermau a charming collection of vintage Japanese vehicle paper models offered by the Giant Restoration Club. At that time the collection featured four delightful models, each fitting on a single printed sheet while doing a remarkable job of capturing the personality of the real vehicles. Since then, two new models have been added to the series, and I thought it was the perfect time to introduce them here as well.

The two newest vehicles appear at the very top of the download page and join the original models, making this already attractive collection even more complete for anyone who enjoys classic post-war Japanese automobiles. Although these are very simple paper models, each one instantly conveys the character of the vehicle it represents, proving that a well-designed papercraft doesn't need hundreds of parts to be both recognizable and enjoyable to build.

The models are provided by Aichi Machine Industry Co., Ltd., a traditional Japanese manufacturer founded in 1949, with roots dating back to the late nineteenth century. Throughout its history, the company has produced its own vehicles, engines, transmissions, and mechanical components, eventually becoming an important manufacturing partner of Nissan and contributing to several historic vehicles produced in Japan. Besides these paper models, the company's Club section also offers educational materials, historical information, and other interesting content related to its engineering heritage.

The collection includes several compact utility vehicles inspired by the famous Cony lineup, manufactured by Aichi Machine Industry during the 1950s and 1960s. Known for their reliability, affordability, and practicality, these little vehicles played an important role in Japan's post-war economic recovery. The remaining models depict small trucks and commercial vehicles that once were a common sight on Japanese streets and are still fondly remembered by collectors and enthusiasts today.

All of the models remain completely free to download, each requiring only a single printed sheet, making them excellent projects for beginners as well as experienced builders looking for small vehicles to populate dioramas, model railroad layouts, or simply expand their collection of automotive papercrafts. Despite their minimalist design, they faithfully preserve the proportions and unmistakable charm of their real-life counterparts.

If you downloaded this collection years ago, it is definitely worth taking another look. With the addition of these two new vehicles, the series has become even more complete while maintaining the same simple, elegant, and fun style that made the original models so appealing.

Em 2018 publiquei aqui no Papermau uma pequena coleção de veículos japoneses clássicos em papercraft oferecida pelo Giant Restoration Club. Na época eram quatro modelos muito simpáticos, todos ocupando apenas uma folha impressa e capturando de maneira surpreendente a personalidade dos veículos reais. Desde então, dois novos modelos foram adicionados à coleção e achei que era a hora de apresentá-los também.

Os dois novos veículos aparecem logo no início da página de downloads e se juntam aos modelos anteriores, formando uma coleção ainda mais interessante para quem aprecia automóveis utilitários japoneses do pós-guerra. Apesar da simplicidade da montagem, cada modelo consegue transmitir imediatamente a identidade do veículo que representa, mostrando que um bom projeto não depende necessariamente de centenas de peças para ser convincente.

Os modelos são disponibilizados pela Aichi Machine Industry Co., Ltd., tradicional fabricante japonesa fundada em 1949, cujas origens remontam ao final do século XIX. Ao longo de sua história, a empresa produziu veículos próprios, motores, transmissões e componentes mecânicos, tornando-se uma importante parceira da Nissan e participando da fabricação de diversos modelos históricos da marca. Além dos papercrafts, a área "Club" do site reúne curiosidades, materiais educativos e conteúdos voltados aos admiradores da engenharia e da história da empresa.

Entre os veículos representados na coleção estão pequenos utilitários inspirados na linha Cony, produzida pela própria Aichi Machine Industry nas décadas de 1950 e 1960. Esses veículos ficaram conhecidos pela robustez, economia e praticidade, características que ajudaram a impulsionar a reconstrução econômica do Japão no período pós-guerra. Os demais modelos retratam pequenos caminhões e veículos comerciais típicos das ruas japonesas daquela época, muitos deles bastante familiares para colecionadores e entusiastas de clássicos japoneses.

Todos os modelos continuam sendo gratuitos, ocupam apenas uma folha de papel cada e podem ser montados rapidamente, sendo excelentes tanto para iniciantes quanto para quem gosta de pequenos veículos para dioramas, ferromodelismo ou simplesmente para ampliar sua coleção de papercrafts automotivos. Mesmo minimalistas, eles conseguem preservar muito bem as proporções e o charme dos veículos originais.

Astro Racer 666 Supernatural Impala Jet Papercraft - by Jan Rükr

This curious and hilariously fun papercraft of the Impala Jet was created by the talented Czech designer Jan Rükr, from the Aliens Papercraft website, and is directly inspired by the legendary 1967 Chevrolet Impala driven by brothers Sam and Dean Winchester in the classic TV series Supernatural.

But here the famous “Baby” received a full retro sci-fi makeover: it became a kind of turbocharged space fighter, ready to win intergalactic races and, between one race and another, travel across galaxies hunting demons, ghosts and interdimensional creatures.

The model is part of the huge Astro Racers series created by Jan Rükr, a collection packed with futuristic spaceships and vehicles. According to the author himself, this model spent an unbelievable fourteen years waiting to finally be released. Fortunately, he decided to pull it out of the cosmic garage before Dean Winchester showed up complaining about it.

In the text presented by the author, he explains that the ship was completely rebuilt by Dean using original parts while keeping the old propulsion system based on the “Van Horn mixer with thrust vectoring.” All of this gives the model that delicious 1950s and 1960s science fiction atmosphere, as if someone had mixed American hot rods, classic rockets and old late-night space TV shows together.

The papercraft is available for free as a PDF file containing only two sheets and a total of 17 numbered parts, making it a relatively simple model and accessible even for beginners in the hobby. The author recommends printing it on paper between 120 and 160 g/m² and reinforcing some parts using thicker 200 g/m² paper.

And honestly? There is something wonderfully absurd about turning a supernatural muscle car into a futuristic racing spaceship. It is exactly this kind of limitless creativity that makes the papercraft universe so much fun.

Este curioso e divertidíssimo papercraft do Impala Jet foi criado pelo talentoso designer tcheco Jan Rükr, do site Aliens Papercraft, e é inspirado diretamente no lendário Chevrolet Impala 1967 dirigido pelos irmãos Sam e Dean Winchester na clássica série de TV.

Mas aqui o famoso “Baby” recebeu uma transformação digna de ficção científica retrô: virou uma espécie de caça espacial turboalimentado, pronto para ganhar corridas e entre uma corrida e outra cruzar galáxias caçando demônios, fantasmas, criaturas interdimensionais.

Tudo isso dá ao modelo aquele delicioso clima de ficção científica dos anos 1950 e 1960, como se alguém tivesse misturado hot rods americanos, foguetes clássicos e episódios antigos de seriados espaciais exibidos tarde da noite na televisão. 

O papercraft é disponibilizado gratuitamente em arquivo PDF contendo apenas duas folhas e um total de 17 peças numeradas, o que o torna um modelo relativamente simples e acessível até mesmo para iniciantes no hobby. O autor recomenda imprimir em papel entre 120 e 160 g/m² e reforçar algumas partes utilizando papel mais grosso de 200 g/m². 

E sinceramente? Existe algo maravilhosamente absurdo na ideia de transformar um muscle car sobrenatural em uma nave espacial de corrida. É exatamente aquele tipo de criatividade sem limites que faz o universo do papercraft ser tão divertido.
