U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864 Papercraft - by Shunichi Makino Free Template And Photo Instructions - Link Revised

In April 2022 I posted here on the blog a papercraft model created by Japanese designer and modeler Shunichi Makino of the U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864, a ship much loved by fans of the Star Trek universe. 

Recently, a visitor named LOST-TIME13 let me know that the original download link was no longer working, so I did some searching and managed to find a new active link. In this updated link you will find the free template, made up of five pages, ready to print and build your own U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864. 

The Japanese designer and modeler Shunichi Makino also provides another link that leads to a very detailed step by step building guide for the ship, filled with photos showing each stage of the assembly. 

Even though the text is in Japanese, the images make the process easy to understand. Star Trek began as a television series in the 1960s and grew into a vast universe of movies, spin offs and books, centered on space exploration, cooperation between different species and moral as well as technological challenges. 

The U.S.S. Reliant appears in this universe and is especially remembered for its role in Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan, where its confrontation with Captain Kirk became one of the most iconic moments in the franchise. 

Both updated links are just below, and with this revision anyone who wants to build this classic Star Trek ship in paper now has everything needed.

Em abril de 2022 publiquei aqui no blog um papercraft criado pelo designer e modelista japonês Shunichi Makino da nave U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864, muito querida pelos fãs do universo de Star Trek. 

Recentemente um visitante chamado LOST-TIME13 me avisou que o link original para o modelo estava fora do ar, então fui pesquisar e consegui encontrar um novo link funcionando. Nesse novo link está o template gratuíto com cinco páginas para montar a U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864, tudo pronto para imprimir e recortar. 

Além disso, o próprio designer e modelista japonês Shunichi Makino deixou outro link que leva a um detalhado passo a passo da montagem da nave, cheio de fotos mostrando cada etapa. 

Star Trek é uma série de ficção científica que começou na televisão na década de 1960 e acabou virando um grande universo de filmes, séries e livros, com histórias sobre exploração espacial, amizade entre espécies diferentes e desafios tanto éticos quanto tecnológicos. 

A U.S.S. Reliant é uma das naves que aparecem nesse universo, conhecida especialmente pelo filme A Ira de Khan, onde seu encontro com o capitão Kirk virou uma das cenas mais memoráveis.

Star Trek - Transport Shuttle USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Paper Model by Paper Aviation

In the movie Star Trek (2009), directed by J.J. Abrams, there is a military transport ship that appears in a brief scene. 

It was the model used by German designer and modeler Martin Sänger, from the website Paper Aviation, to create this papercraft of the military transport shuttle USS Enterprise NCC-1701. 

Mr. Sänger says that the entire model is made up of 91 pieces divided into four sheets of paper and that, because it has clear lines and straight edges, it becomes a very interesting papercraft for beginners. 

The scale is not given, but when printed on A4 sheets, the dimensions of the model are 23 cm long, 14.8 cm wide and 5.7 cm high. 

Below, three interesting facts about the 2009 film Star Trek: 

Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock from the classic series, returned to the role in the film, being one of the few actors from the original series to participate in the reboot. 

The creature that chases Kirk on the icy moon Delta Vega was created for the film and does not appear in the original series. Its appearance resembles a cross between a crab and an alien predator. 

There is a Star Wars Easter egg in the film that can be seen in a scene set in space. The special effects team inserted a model of R2-D2 floating among the wreckage as a fun homage to Star Wars.

No filme Star Trek (2009), dirigido por J.J. Abrams, há uma nave de transporte militar que aparece em uma breve cena. 

Foi o modelo usado pelo designer e modelista alemão Martin Sänger, do site Paper Aviation, para criar este papercraft do Ônibus de transporte militar USS Enterprise NCC-1701. 

O Sr. Sänger diz que o modelo todo é composto de 91 peças divididas em quatro folha de papel e que, por ter linhas claras e bordas retas, torna-se um papercraft muito interessante para iniciantes. 

A escala não é informada, mas quando impresso em folhas de formato A4, as dimensões do modelo são de 23 cms de comprimento, 14,8 cms de largura e 5,7 cms de altura. 

Abaixo, três curiosidade ssobre o filme Star Trek, de 2009: 

Leonard Nimoy, o Spock original da série clássica, voltou ao papel no filme, sendo um dos poucos atores da série original a participar do reboot.

A criatura que persegue Kirk na lua gelada Delta Vega foi criada para o filme e não aparece na série original. Sua aparência lembra um cruzamento entre um caranguejo e um predador alienígena. 

Há um Easter Egg de Star Wars no filme que pode ser visto em uma cena no espaço. A equipe de efeitos especiais inseriu um modelo de R2-D2 flutuando entre os destroços, como uma homenagem divertida a Star Wars.

Star Trek - U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701-A Starship Paper Model by Sci-Fi Papercraft - Link Revised

From Star Trek universe, here is the Constitution-class Federation starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A, in a perfect paper model version created by Japanese designer Shunichi Makino, from Sci-Fi Papercraft website. 

You will need to print four sheets of paper to build your own U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701-A.

Star Trek - USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Paper Model - by Scanner Joe

Star Trek - Type 9 Shuttle Cochrane Paper Model - by Strangename19

James, aka Strangename19, is an American designer and modeler and the author of this cool paper model of a Type 9 Shuttle Cochrane spaceship, from Star Trek universe. 

About his creative process, James said: - "When it comes to art, I don't really do finished pieces, mostly sketches that I can't be arsed to take any further. 

Much of my artwork here is from a huge back catalog of stuff I've been drawing for years. Lots of it is 5+ years old, and I'm such a different person now that I almost feel like I'm uploading someone else's stuff." 

Belonging to the Star Trek universe, the Cochrane (NCC-74656/04) was a 24th century Federation shuttlecraft, a Type-9 shuttle in Starfleet service in the 2370s decades. 

The Cochrane was assigned to the Intrepid-class starship USS Voyager, under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway. (VOY episode: "Threshold").

James, aka Strangename19, é um designer e modelista americano e autor deste modelo de papel bem legal de uma nave espacial Type 9 Shuttle Cochrane, do universo Star Trek. 

Sobre seu processo criativo, James disse: - "Quando se trata de arte, eu realmente não faço peças acabadas, principalmente esboços que não consigo levar adiante. 

Grande parte da minha arte aqui é de um enorme catálogo antigo de coisas que venho desenhando há anos. Muitas delas têm mais de 5 anos e sou uma pessoa tão diferente agora que quase sinto que estou carregando as coisas de outra pessoa." 

Pertencente ao universo de Star Trek, a Cochrane (NCC-74656/04) era uma nave auxiliar da Federação do século 24, uma nave Type-9 em serviço da Frota Estelar na década de 2370. 

O Cochrane foi designado para a nave estelar da classe Intrepid USS Voyager, sob o comando da capitã Kathryn Janeway. (Episódio VOY: "Limiar").
