Neverwinter Fantasy Stronghold Fortress Diorama Papercraft by Perfect World

This papercraft comes directly from the official website of Neverwinter, a free-to-play MMORPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons. The model represents a small fortress or stronghold inspired by the game’s scenery, recreating in paper one of the typical bases and structures seen in the fantasy world explored by players.

It was originally created for a contest promoted by the team behind the game. The event ended quite some time ago, having taken place in 2017, but fortunately the model files are still available for download on the official announcement page. Even though the contest has long finished, any fan of the game or papercraft enthusiast can still build their own version of this small paper fortress.

The model is presented as a 2.5D style diorama, meaning a construction that mixes flat elements with folded parts to create a sense of depth. The result is a small decorative scene reminiscent of the medieval and fantasy buildings typical of the Neverwinter universe, with towers, walls and architecture inspired by the classic aesthetics of fantasy worlds.

The model files are divided into two PDFs. The creators recommend printing one of them on 160 g paper and the other on 240 g paper for a sturdier and cleaner finish, but this is not mandatory for assembling the model. If you prefer, everything can be printed on regular cardstock without major issues.

One curious detail is that the templates inside the PDFs are interspersed with completely black pages. Because of this, one of the files appears to have eight pages and the other four. In reality, however, the entire model only uses four sheets with the actual parts. It is worth keeping this in mind before printing in order to avoid wasting ink and paper.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the download link is practically hidden at the very end of the official page, right after the contest images. To make things easier for anyone who wants to build the model, I took the liberty of adding a direct link to the papercraft files at the end of this post.

For fans of fantasy games, players of Neverwinter, or simply lovers of medieval themed papercrafts, this small diorama is a simple and very charming project, perfect for decorating a desk or accompanying other RPG miniatures.

O modelo representa uma pequena fortaleza ou stronghold inspirada no cenário do jogo, recriando em papel um dos elementos típicos das bases e construções vistas no mundo de fantasia explorado pelos jogadores.

Ele foi originalmente criado para um concurso promovido pelos responsáveis pelo jogo. O evento já terminou há bastante tempo, tendo sido realizado em 2017, mas felizmente os arquivos do modelo continuam disponíveis para download na página oficial do anúncio. Mesmo com o concurso encerrado, qualquer fã do jogo ou entusiasta de papercraft ainda pode montar sua própria versão dessa pequena fortaleza de papel.

Starry Night Castle Papercraft - A Creative Blend Of Art And Fantasyby Storm The Castle

The site does not directly state the exact scale of the castle or clearly specify the number of sheets but the simplicity of the build and the recommendations about paper type suggest that the model was designed to be efficient and not take up too many pages. 

The castle has a stylized look more symbolic than highly detailed which matches the idea of an artistic homage rather than a realistic replica.

Osaka Castle Paper Model - Construction Report - by PAOPAO.Inc via Canon - Part III

This is the third and final part of the assembly of the Main Tower of Osaka Castle. Printed on A4 sheets, the completed model measures 22 cm in height, 14 cm in width, and 16.5 cm in depth - not counting the black base, which I chose not to include in this build. 

Some parts of the construction were a bit tricky, and at certain points I thought the roofs would end up misaligned, but in the end everything came together nicely. I recommend this model to anyone who enjoys traditional Japanese architecture. 

As I mentioned in the previous two posts, the Canon website has been temporarily offline since the 26th of this month, undergoing changes both to the platform itself and to the sharing policy of its papercrafts.

It is expected to return on the 29th, but most likely only Canon printer owners will be able to download and print the already classic models available there. 

In any case, I’ll leave the link to Canon Creative Park at the end of this post. If the address changes, I’ll come back here and update it, okay?

Esta é a terceira e última parte da montagem da Torre Principal do Castelo de Osaka. Impresso em folhas no formato A4, o modelo completo mede 22 cm de altura, 14 cm de largura e 16,5 cm de comprimento - sem contar a base preta, que optei por não incluir nesta montagem. 

Alguns trechos da construção foram um pouco complicados e em certos momentos achei que os telhados ficariam desalinhados, mas no final tudo se encaixou bem. Recomendo este modelo a todos que apreciam a arquitetura clássica japonesa. 

Como já comentei nos dois posts anteriores, o site da Canon está temporariamente fora do ar desde o dia 26 deste mês, passando por mudanças tanto na plataforma quanto na política de compartilhamento dos papercrafts. 

A previsão é de que retorne no dia 29, mas provavelmente apenas proprietários de impressoras Canon poderão baixar e imprimir os já clássicos modelos oferecidos lá. 

De qualquer forma, deixarei no final deste post o link para o Canon Creative Park. Se o endereço mudar, volto aqui e atualizo o endereço, ok?
