Cyber City Modular Sci-Fi Papercraft For Dioramas And Wargames by Black Magic Craft

Cyber City is a very interesting set of printable scenery created by Black Magic Craft for building modular cyberpunk and science-fiction environments, especially designed for tabletop wargames, RPGs, skirmish games and miniature photography.

Rather than being a conventional papercraft made of complete pieces with folding and gluing tabs, Cyber City uses a different and very practical construction system. Most of the printable parts consist of flat walls, roofs, floors and decorative panels intended to be glued onto a stronger material, such as cardboard, cardstock, recycled packaging board or even thin sheets of wood.

This construction method makes a lot of sense considering the main purpose of the set. Wargame scenery is constantly handled, moved around the table, rearranged to create different layouts and stored away after each game, so the structures need to be considerably stronger than an ordinary display papercraft.

The printable sheets include a large variety of industrial and futuristic surfaces and details, such as weathered concrete and metal walls, rusty grilles, ventilation systems, electrical boxes, pipes, doors, graffiti, warning stripes and rooftop equipment, all combining to create a convincing worn industrial and cyberpunk atmosphere.

The modular nature of Cyber City is one of its strongest features. Buildings can be created at different heights, stacked, connected by walkways and arranged in many different ways. With the same collection of pieces you can build a compact industrial complex, several separate city blocks or a much larger urban battlefield, depending on the available space and the number of modules you decide to make.

The photos on this post show one of the possible configurations using Cyber City together with miniatures and give a very good idea of how versatile this type of scenery can be for tabletop games.

Black Magic Craft also published a video showing the construction of the scenery, which is especially useful for understanding how the printable textures and panels are transformed into strong three-dimensional terrain pieces. Cyber City is completely free to download from the Black Magic Craft website. There is, however, one small detail worth mentioning so that nobody is surprised by the download process. Although the model is listed at US$0.00, you need to provide a valid email address and create a free account on the website before downloading the files.

No banking or credit card information is required. I went through the entire process myself and downloaded the files before preparing this post. There were no charges, hidden subscriptions or tricks involved.

If you enjoy building scenery for science-fiction miniatures, cyberpunk dioramas or tabletop games, Cyber City is a particularly useful project because, instead of providing only one finished building, it gives you a collection of modular elements that can be combined and rearranged to create a different city every time.

Em vez de ser um papercraft convencional formado por peças completas com abas para dobrar e colar, Cyber City utiliza um sistema de construção diferente e bastante prático. A maior parte das peças imprimíveis é composta por paredes, telhados, pisos e painéis decorativos planos, pensados para serem colados sobre um material mais resistente, como papelão, papel cartão, papelão reaproveitado de caixas de embalagens ou até mesmo chapas finas de madeira.

Esse método de construção faz bastante sentido quando levamos em conta a principal finalidade do conjunto. Cenários para wargames são constantemente manuseados, movimentados sobre a mesa, reorganizados para criar novas configurações e guardados depois de cada partida, por isso precisam ser consideravelmente mais resistentes do que um papercraft comum feito apenas para exposição.

As folhas imprimíveis incluem uma grande variedade de superfícies e detalhes industriais e futuristas, como paredes de concreto e metal envelhecido, grades enferrujadas, sistemas de ventilação, caixas elétricas, tubulações, portas, grafites, faixas de advertência e equipamentos de cobertura, tudo combinando para criar uma atmosfera industrial desgastada com uma forte aparência cyberpunk.

A natureza modular do Cyber City é um de seus pontos mais interessantes. Os edifícios podem ser construídos em diferentes alturas, empilhados, ligados por passarelas e organizados de muitas maneiras diferentes. Cyberpunk Garage Papercraft Stand For Hot Wheels And Diecast Cars In 1/64 Scale - by Papermau - Download Now!

Here is another small stand/diorama in the same style as other models already published here on the blog, but this time with an atmosphere fully inspired by the cyberpunk universe, filled with neon lights, glowing signs, exposed pipes, worn concrete and that typical look of futuristic megacities seen in science fiction movies and videogames.

Just like the Hillbilly Garage Stand and other similar models already shown here on Papermau, this diorama was created especially for 1/64 scale miniatures, making it perfect for Hot Wheels, Matchbox and other diecast cars of the same size. The dimensions and assembly structure remain exactly the same as the previous models, changing only the textures and the entire visual identity.

The model fits on a single printed sheet and includes two complete stands on the same page, allowing you to build two separate dioramas or even combine both using the relief technique. The textures include wet concrete floors reflecting colorful lights, aged metallic doors, futuristic signs, illuminated panels, glowing windows and several small industrial details spread across the walls.

The assembly is simple and accessible even for beginners in the hobby and, for best results, I recommend printing on paper between 160 g/m² and 200 g/m². Those who wish can also add small LEDs to make the neon effect even more interesting.

A small tip for those who want to achieve that shiny, wet-looking effect seen in the photos: this can be done very easily by applying two or even three thin coats of regular white glue over the assembled parts. Simply use a medium-sized brush with soft or medium-soft bristles, spreading the glue as if you were painting the model. Once dry, the glue creates a subtle reflective finish on the floors and walls, while also helping to reinforce and “seal” the papercraft, protecting the colors against fading over time.

This small diorama is ideal for photographing miniatures, creating futuristic scenes, composing dystopian urban layouts or simply decorating your shelf with a compact scenario full of cyberpunk personality.

Eis aqui mais um pequeno stand/diorama no mesmo estilo de outros modelos já publicados aqui no blog, mas desta vez com uma atmosfera totalmente inspirada no universo cyberpunk, cheio de neon, placas luminosas, tubulações aparentes, concreto gasto e aquele visual típico das grandes metrópoles futuristas vistas em filmes e videogames de ficção científica.

Uma pequena dica para quem quiser conseguir aquele efeito brilhante e meio molhado visto nas fotos: isso pode ser feito muito facilmente aplicando duas ou até três camadas finas de cola branca comum sobre as peças já montadas. Basta usar um pincel médio, de cerdas não muito duras, espalhando a cola como se estivesse pintando o modelo. Depois de seca, a cola cria um leve acabamento refletivo no piso e nas paredes, além de ajudar a reforçar e “blindar” o papercraft, protegendo as cores contra o desbotamento com o passar do tempo.

Este pequeno diorama é ideal para fotografar miniaturas, montar cenas futuristas, compor layouts urbanos distópicos ou simplesmente decorar a estante com um cenário compacto cheio de personalidade cyberpunk.

The Underground Neon Shelter One-Sheet Papercraft - by Papermau Download Now!

Today I am happy to share another original model created especially for fans of cyberpunk aesthetics, futuristic cities and small urban dioramas: The Underground Neon Shelter, a one-sheet papercraft. 

Despite fitting entirely on a single printed page, this small model is packed with details, layered signs, industrial textures, cables, pipes, glowing panels and all those visual elements that immediately bring to mind the atmosphere of a futuristic megacity inspired by classic cyberpunk movies and games, but here condensed into a modest little house.

The model was designed to be easy to assemble, even for beginners, while still maintaining a rich and detailed appearance once completed. The front façade, as well as the sides and the back, are filled with Japanese signs, neon lights and technological equipment scattered across the walls, revealing an industrial and decaying look with ventilation ducts, electrical boxes, old pipes and exposed metallic structures.

In the small fictional universe imagined for this miniature, the Underground Neon Shelter is located somewhere forgotten inside Sector 12, one of the oldest districts of a gigantic metropolis where the rain never seems to stop and daylight can barely pass through the maze of skyscrapers above. 

Hidden inside a narrow alley illuminated only by flickering fluorescent lights, this improvised shelter eventually became a temporary refuge for hackers, illegal couriers and time travelers trying to escape the surveillance systems controlling the city and its timeless portals.

According to rumors spread through the underground networks, the owner of the shelter is an old retired technician who once worked for one of the massive corporations responsible for controlling the city. He is extremely old and nobody remembers his real name anymore. 

Some say he performs illegal cybernetic implant repairs in the back room of the building. Others believe the place secretly serves as a meeting point for resistance groups exchanging encrypted data chips and forbidden information during the night. 

There are also those who claim he may already be implanting his own memories into a next-generation android while waiting for mech-medicine to evolve enough to allow the complete transfer of his mind into an artificially grown organic body.

Whatever story you choose to imagine, this compact model can help create a cyberpunk atmosphere without taking much space and can be used as a standalone display piece, part of a futuristic street scene or combined with miniature vehicles and small-scale figures. Hoje tenho o prazer de compartilhar mais um modelo original criado especialmente para fãs de estética cyberpunk, cidades futuristas e pequenos dioramas urbanos: The Underground Neon Shelter, um papercraft de folha única. 

Apesar de ocupar apenas uma folha impressa, este pequeno modelo é recheado de detalhes, placas sobrepostas, texturas industriais, cabos, tubulações, painéis luminosos e todos aqueles elementos visuais que nos remetem à atmosfera de uma megacidade futurista inspirada em filmes e jogos clássicos do gênero cyberpunk, mas aqui encapsulada em uma modesta casinha.

O modelo foi pensado para ter montagem simples, acessível até mesmo para iniciantes, mas sem abrir mão de uma aparência rica em detalhes quando montado. A fachada frontal, assim como as laterais e os fundos, são repletos de letreiros em japonês, luminosos e equipamentos tecnológicos espalhados pelas paredes, revelando um visual industrial e decadente, com dutos de ventilação, caixas elétricas, canos antigos e estruturas metálicas aparentes.

No pequeno universo imaginado para esta miniatura, o Underground Neon Shelter está localizado em algum ponto esquecido do Setor 12, um dos bairros mais antigos de uma gigantesca metrópole onde a chuva nunca parece parar e a luz do dia quase não consegue atravessar o emaranhado de arranha-céus acima. 

Escondido em um beco estreito iluminado apenas por luzes fluorescentes piscando sem parar, este abrigo improvisado acabou se tornando um ponto de passagem para hackers, entregadores clandestinos e viajantes do tempo tentando escapar dos sistemas de vigilância que controlam a cidade e os portais atemporais.

Segundo os rumores espalhados pelas redes subterrâneas, o proprietário do abrigo é um antigo técnico aposentado que trabalhou para uma das grandes corporações responsáveis pelo controle da cidade. Ele é muito velho e ninguém mais sabe seu verdadeiro nome. 

Alguns dizem que ele realiza reparos ilegais de implantes cibernéticos nos fundos do prédio.Outros acreditam que o local serve como ponto secreto de encontro para grupos de resistência que trocam chips de dados criptografados e informações proibidas durante a madrugada. 

Há também quem afirme que ele pode até mesmo implantar suas memórias em um andróide de última geração até que a meca-medicina evolua a ponto de permitir que sua mente seja transferida para um corpo orgânico criado artificialmente em laboratório.

Não importa a história que você invente, este modelo compacto pode ajudar a criar uma atmosfera cyberpunk sem ocupar muito espaço e ser usado como peça isolada de exposição, parte de uma rua futurista ou combinado com veículos e miniaturas em pequena escala. This free customizable cyberpunk building papercraft lets you create a fully modular futuristic structure, perfect for dioramas, RPG terrain, tabletop scenery and 1/64 scale displays.

After months of adjustments and refinements, the Generic Customizable Cyberpunk Building model is finally ready and available for free download.

This model was designed to be fully customizable and modular, allowing you to combine different textures, panels and details to create unique cyberpunk buildings every time you build it.

Since June, when I started exploring textures generated with artificial intelligence, the corroded facades, the glowing panels, and the posters simulating electronic screens, I felt that something was still missing to achieve the ideal look.

These AI-created textures brought a striking contrast between urban decay and the saturated glow so characteristic of the cyberpunk universe, reminiscent of settings such as the Blade Runner Tyrell Building.

Over the days, I experimented with small changes, intensifying colors, enhancing the atmosphere, giving more personality to signs and billboards, until I achieved the desired effect.

The ideograms that appear on some posters, although reminiscent of Asian characters, actually mean nothing: they were randomly generated by AI, resulting in invisible and abstract forms that we can imagine as alien writing or dystopian code.

The final result is a building with simple geometric shapes but full of textures and personality. It is fully customizable, perfect for dioramas, RPG terrain, tabletop settings, or even to decorate a shelf with style.

Using the main pieces from sheets 01, 02, and 03, which are the walls and the piece simulating windows with incandescent colors, you can build buildings with as many floors as you want, creating custom modular structures and the atmosphere seen in the game Cyberpunk and movies like Blade Runner, Total Recall, The Fifth Element, the anime Akira, and similar works.

It also fits very well with other sci-fi scenery projects, such as this Battletech Sci-Fi Power Plant.

In my test assembly, I confirmed that all parts fit perfectly, but what will really make the model stand out is your creativity, since it all comes down to stacked basic geometric shapes.

Use the many signs and billboards to create something unique. Stick everything randomly, move pieces around, and use everyday materials you have at home, like wires, plastic caps, aluminum foil, straws, and other disposable items to simulate pipes, chimneys, exposed wiring, and anything you can imagine. The fun part is that there are no rules when it comes to the future; everything is possible.

O resultado final é um edifício de formas geométricas simples, mas carregado de texturas e cheio de personalidade. Ele é totalmente customizável, perfeito para dioramas, terrenos para RPG, cenários de mesa ou mesmo para decorar uma estante com estilo.

Usando as peças principais das folhas 01, 02 e 03, que seriam as paredes e a peça que simula janelas com cores incandescentes, você pode montar prédios com quantos andares quiser, criando estruturas modulares personalizadas e aquela atmosfera que vemos no game Cyberpunk e em filmes como Blade Runner, Total Recall, The Fifth Element, o anime Akira e similares.

Ele também combina muito bem com outros cenários sci-fi, como esta usina sci-fi de Battletech.

Na minha montagem de teste pude confirmar que todas as partes se encaixam perfeitamente, mas o que vai fazer o modelo se destacar mesmo é a sua criatividade, já que tudo se resume a formas geométricas básicas empilhadas.

Use as muitas placas e letreiros para criar algo único. Vá colando tudo aleatoriamente, mudando de lugar, use materiais do dia a dia que você tem em casa, como arames, tampas plásticas, papel alumínio, canudos e outras coisas descartáveis para simular encanamentos, chaminés, fiações expostas e tudo que você puder imaginar. A graça é que não há regras quando se trata de futuro, tudo é possível.

Customizable Generic Cyberpunk Building Papercraft - by Papermau The Model Finished - Download Next Week!

I had mentioned that I would publish this papercraft of a Customizable Generic Cyberpunk Building in the first week of July, but the truth is that I wasn’t satisfied with the result and kept tweaking it until I achieved what I wanted. 

I think I finally reached the effect I was aiming for, especially with the billboards and neon signs. So next week, I’ll be posting the templates here on the blog. 

As I mentioned in another post, all the building’s textures, as well as the posters simulating electronic screens and glowing panels, were created with the help of artificial intelligence. 

This allowed me to experiment freely and achieve a look that combines decaying urban elements with the saturated glow that defines the cyberpunk style. 

The ideograms on the posters look like Asian characters, but they actually don’t mean anything. I even tried Google Translate and got nowhere. The AI simply generated random symbols, so we can just pretend it’s some kind of alien language. 

I printed the test version and everything fit together perfectly. Now I just need to organize the parts so they use as few sheets as possible. 

By Friday at the latest, I’ll release the model. For now, enjoy some photos that give a glimpse of the build.

Eu havia dito que publicaria este papercraft de um Edifício Cyberpunk Genérico Personalizável na primeira semana de julho, mas a verdade é que eu não estava satisfeito com o resultado e continuei mexendo nele até conseguir o que queria.

Acho que agora alcancei o efeito que estava buscando, especialmente com as placas de propaganda e letreiros. 

Então, na próxima semana, publico os templates aqui no blog. Como já mencionei em outro post, todas as texturas do prédio, assim como os pôsteres que simulam telas eletrônicas e painéis luminosos, foram criados com a ajuda de inteligência artificial. 

Isso me permitiu experimentar à vontade e chegar a um visual que mistura elementos urbanos decadentes com o brilho saturado característico do estilo cyberpunk. 

Os ideogramas que aparecem nos pôsteres parecem asiáticos, mas na verdade não querem dizer nada. Testei no Google Tradutor e não consegui identificar nada. A IA simplesmente gerou caracteres aleatórios, então podemos fingir que seja uma linguagem alienígena. 

Imprimi a versão de testes e tudo se encaixou perfeitamente. Agora só falta organizar as peças de modo que ocupem menos folhas possíveis. 

No mais tardar, até sexta-feira o modelo estará disponível. Enquanto isso, fiquem com algumas fotos que mostram um pouco do resultado.
