This perfect paper model version of the classic 1957 Ford Thunderbird was originally published in the same year as the vehicle's launch by German publisher Otto Maier Verlag Ravensburg and has been preserved and is now kindly shared by the great German website Kartonmodellbau.Org.
The entire Ford Thunderbird takes up just two printed sheets and if you print it in A4 format you will have a model in 1/37 scale, whereas in A3 format it will be something around 1/27.
The instructions (two sheets) are written in German and, apart from a small diagram of the wheel assembly, there are no illustrations, but the model is not that difficult to assemble and is a great exercise to improve techniques, as the bodywork of this car has various curved, rounded shapes.
One incredible thing is that this papercraft was entirely hand-drawn and the pieces fit together perfectly, as can be seen in the photos that illustrate this post.
Remember that there were no computers or 3D design programs in 1957, so everything was calculated and done manually, based on a lot of trial and error, I believe. Genius, right?

O Ford Thunderbird todo ocupa apenas duas folhas impressas e se você imprimir no formato A4 terá um modelo na escala 1/37, já em formato A3, terá algo em torno de 1/27.
As instruções (duas folhas) estão escritas em alemão e, tirando um pequeno diagrama da montagem das rodas, não há ilustrações, mas o modelo não é tão difícil de montar e é um ótimo exercício para aprimorar técnicas, já que a lataria desse carro apresenta várias formas curvas, arredondadas.
Uma coisa incrível é que este papercraft foi todo desenhado a mão e as peças se encaixam perfeitamente, como pode ser visto nas fotos que ilustram este post.
Lembre-se que não haviam computadores nem programas de desenho em 3D em 1957, então tudo era calculado e feito manualmente, na base de muitas tentativas e erros, creio eu. Genial, não?
