1945`s Chemnitz Einsiedel Post Office In German - by Gleimo

This is a paper model in 1/450 scale of the post office in Chemnitz Einsiedel, Germany, as it appeared in 1945, shortly before being destroyed during Allied bombing raids in the final months of World War II.

Chemnitz was an important industrial city in eastern Germany and suffered heavy bombing in 1945, which caused extensive destruction to residential areas, factories and public buildings, including post offices like this one.

At that time, post offices were essential urban structures, responsible not only for mail delivery but also for communication services, logistics and even financial operations, playing a central role in daily life.

This model faithfully recreates that lost building in miniature form, preserving a small fragment of history that no longer exists today, making it especially suitable for historical dioramas and railway layouts in HO scale.
