Restaurants Around The World - 03 - Japanese Restaurant Papercraft by Papermau - Download Now!

This is the third model in the "Restaurants Around The World" series created by Papermau. After the English Pub and the American Diner, now it is time for this small Japanese restaurant filled with lanterns, colorful posters, arcade machines and that slightly nostalgic atmosphere of Japan’s illuminated streets.

The idea behind this series is to create small restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés and snack shops inspired by the most traditional and iconic foods from different countries around the world, always in a compact format, occupying just one printed sheet and featuring an easy assembly suitable even for beginners in the hobby. Each model tries to represent not only the typical cuisine of a country, but also a little of its visual and cultural atmosphere through façades, shop windows, signs, posters, colors and other small details characteristic of each place.

Depending on the country represented, some models in this collection will be pubs, diners, taverns, cafés, street bars or small local restaurants, always trying to capture that characteristic look that immediately makes us recognize each culture. All models in the series will follow this compact urban mini diorama style that I enjoy creating here at Papermau, with vibrant colors, lots of illustrated details and a fun appearance once assembled.

The idea for this model was to create something simple to build, but enjoyable to look at once finished. Even though it occupies only one printed sheet, I tried to include many small details to make the restaurant feel more alive and interesting for dioramas, model railroads, RPG tables or simply as a shelf decoration.

For this model, I created the lanterns in two different ways. One version is simpler and completely two-dimensional, for those who prefer a faster and more practical assembly, while the second version is a six-sided 3D design that requires a little more patience, but creates a much more beautiful final result. The lanterns used in the virtually assembled model shown in the images of this post are exactly the 3D version.

Depois do English Pub e do American Diner, agora chegou a vez deste pequeno restaurante japonês cheio de lanternas, pôsteres coloridos, máquinas de arcade e aquele clima meio nostálgico das ruas iluminadas do Japão.

A ideia desta série é criar pequenos restaurantes, bares, pubs, cafés e lanchonetes inspirados nas comidas mais tradicionais e icônicas de diferentes países ao redor do mundo, sempre em formato compacto, ocupando apenas uma folha impressa e com montagem simples, acessível até mesmo para iniciantes no hobby. Cada modelo procura representar não apenas a culinária típica de um país, mas também um pouco da atmosfera visual e cultural desses lugares, através das fachadas, vitrines, cartazes, cores e pequenos detalhes característicos de cada cultura.

Dependendo do país retratado, alguns modelos desta coleção serão pubs, diners, tavernas, cafés, botecos ou pequenos restaurantes de rua, sempre tentando capturar aquele visual típico que nos faz reconhecer imediatamente cada lugar. Todos os modelos seguirão esse estilo compacto de mini diorama urbano que eu gosto de criar aqui no Papermau, com muitas cores, pequenos detalhes ilustrados e uma aparência divertida depois de montados.

A ideia deste modelo foi criar algo simples de montar, mas divertido de observar depois de pronto. Apesar de ocupar apenas uma folha impressa, tentei colocar vários pequenos detalhes para deixar o restaurante mais vivo e interessante em dioramas, ferromodelismo, mesas de RPG ou simplesmente como decoração de estante.

Neste modelo eu fiz as lanternas de duas maneiras diferentes. Uma versão mais simples, totalmente em 2D, para quem prefere uma montagem mais rápida e prática, e outra versão em 3D, com seis lados, que dá um pouco mais de trabalho, mas deixa o resultado muito mais bonito. As lanternas do modelo virtualmente montado que aparecem nas imagens deste post são justamente a versão 3D.

Over 60 Free Architectural Papercrafts In 1/100 Scale - by Felis Lynx Now On Telegram

Back in 2021, when I first featured the amazing architectural papercraft collection created by the Russian team from Felis Lynx, the project already impressed me with its originality, realism and generosity. At that time there were only 18 models available, all based on real architectural projects and offered completely free for download.

Years passed and the collection continued to grow steadily. In 2025, I revisited the project here on the blog when the number of models had already reached an incredible 63 buildings, ranging from charming countryside houses to modern residences and elegant urban constructions, all designed in a beautiful 1/100 scale style with very clean and professional graphics.

Now the good people from Felis Lynx have kindly contacted me once again to share another great piece of news with the papercraft community: all models are also available through their official Telegram channel, making access even easier for hobbyists around the world.

According to the creators themselves, all house project models can now be downloaded completely free and without the need for registration, something increasingly rare nowadays and certainly worthy of recognition and praise.

For those who still do not know this fantastic collection, it is truly worth a visit. The models are perfect for architectural studies, dioramas, model railroads, RPG and wargames, or simply for anyone who appreciates beautifully designed paper architecture. The clean textures, realistic proportions and wide variety of styles make this one of the most interesting architectural papercraft collections currently available online.

According to recommendations provided by the creators on the official website, the models are supplied in PDF format and designed for A4 paper size. The recommended paper weight is 200 gsm for the best results and structural stability. For proper scale and fitting, the files should be printed without resizing.

I would also like to thank the Felis Lynx team for their kindness, generosity and continued support of the papercraft community throughout all these years. Projects like this help keep the hobby alive, accessible and inspiring for paper modelers all around the world.

Em 2021, quando apresentei pela primeira vez aqui no blog a incrível coleção de papercrafts arquitetônicos criada pela equipe russa da Felis Lynx, o projeto já me impressionava pela originalidade, pelo realismo e pela generosidade dos autores. Naquela época existiam apenas 18 modelos disponíveis, todos baseados em projetos arquitetônicos reais e oferecidos gratuitamente para download.

Os anos passaram e a coleção continuou crescendo constantemente. Em 2025, voltei a destacar o projeto aqui no Papermau quando o número de modelos já havia alcançado impressionantes 63 construções, incluindo casas de campo, residências modernas e elegantes edifícios urbanos, todos desenvolvidos em uma belíssima escala 1/100 e com um estilo visual muito limpo e profissional.

Segundo os próprios criadores, todos os modelos de projetos de casas podem agora ser baixados gratuitamente e sem necessidade de cadastro, algo cada vez mais raro atualmente e que certamente merece reconhecimento e elogios.

Para quem ainda não conhece essa fantástica coleção, vale muito a visita. Os modelos são perfeitos para estudos arquitetônicos, dioramas, ferromodelismo, RPG, wargames ou simplesmente para quem aprecia arquitetura em papel muito bem feita. As texturas limpas, as proporções realistas e a grande variedade de estilos fazem desta uma das coleções de arquitetura em papercraft mais interessantes disponíveis atualmente na internet.

Segundo as recomendações fornecidas pelos próprios criadores no site oficial, os modelos são disponibilizados em formato PDF e foram projetados para papel tamanho A4. A gramatura recomendada é de 200 g para melhores resultados e maior estabilidade estrutural. Para manter a escala e o encaixe corretos, os arquivos devem ser impressos sem redimensionamento.

Restaurants Around The World - 02 - American Diner Papercraft by Papermau - Download Now!

This colorful miniature American diner is the second model in the new original “Restaurants Around The World Papercraft Collection”, a series created here at Papermau to celebrate some of the most iconic restaurants, traditional foods and food cultures from different countries around the world. After the release of the first model in the series, the traditional English pub “The Crown & Tankard”, today I am very happy to present this classic retro-style American Diner, inspired by the famous roadside restaurants and small-town diners that became symbols of American culture during the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

An interesting curiosity about traditional American Diners is that many of them originally appeared as small mobile dining cars in the late 19th century, serving workers, travelers and people leaving theaters and factories late at night. Over the decades, these establishments evolved into the classic fixed diners that became one of the great symbols of American popular culture, famous for hamburgers, milkshakes, coffee and bright decorations filled with neon signs and retro charm. Here at Papermau, this original concept was adapted to the compact and cozy style of this series, transforming the traditional metallic dining car into a small urban restaurant full of personality.

With its vibrant red-and-white colors, vintage signs, hamburgers, milkshakes, fries and that nostalgic atmosphere so characteristic of classic American diners, this little papercraft tries to capture the welcoming spirit of those restaurants seen in movies, TV shows and old highways across the United States. Although it occupies only one printed sheet, the model includes many illustrated details such as illuminated signs, decorative posters, menus, flower pots and small architectural elements that help create a lively miniature urban scene.

Like the other models in this new collection, this diner was designed to be simple and accessible to assemble, making it suitable even for beginners in the papercraft hobby. At the same time, the model has enough decorative details to look very nice when displayed on desks, shelves or together with miniature collections and diecast cars. Depending on the scale chosen when printing, it can also work very well as scenery for RPGs, tabletop games and small urban dioramas.

For best results, I recommend printing the model on paper between 160gsm and 180gsm, which gives the walls and signs a sturdier appearance without making the folds and assembly difficult. A precision hobby knife, a metal ruler and good quality white glue will help preserve the tiny decorative details and create cleaner edges during construction. If you prefer a lighter build with softer folds, 120gsm paper also works very well for this type of compact architectural papercraft.

Este colorido diner americano em miniatura é o segundo modelo da nova série autoral “Restaurants Around The World Papercraft Collection”, uma coleção criada aqui no Papermau para homenagear alguns dos restaurantes, comidas típicas e culturas gastronômicas mais icônicas de diferentes países ao redor do mundo. Depois do lançamento do primeiro modelo da série, o tradicional pub inglês “The Crown & Tankard”, hoje tenho o prazer de apresentar este clássico American Diner em estilo retrô, inspirado nos famosos restaurantes de beira de estrada e pequenos diners que se tornaram símbolos da cultura americana entre as décadas de 1940, 50 e 60.

Uma curiosidade interessante sobre os tradicionais American Diners é que muitos deles surgiram originalmente como pequenos vagões-restaurante móveis no final do século XIX, funcionando durante a madrugada para atender trabalhadores, viajantes e pessoas saindo de teatros e fábricas. Com o passar das décadas, esses estabelecimentos evoluíram para os clássicos diners fixos que se tornaram um dos maiores símbolos da cultura popular americana, famosos pelos hambúrgueres, milkshakes, cafés e pela decoração iluminada cheia de letreiros neon e visual retrô. Aqui no Papermau, o conceito original foi adaptado ao estilo compacto e acolhedor desta série, transformando o tradicional vagão metálico em um pequeno restaurante urbano cheio de personalidade.

Com suas cores vibrantes em vermelho e branco, placas vintage, hambúrgueres, milkshakes, fritas e aquele clima nostálgico tão característico dos diners americanos clássicos, este pequeno papercraft tenta capturar toda a atmosfera acolhedora daqueles restaurantes vistos em filmes, séries de TV e antigas rodovias dos Estados Unidos. Apesar de ocupar apenas uma folha impressa, o modelo traz muitos detalhes ilustrados, incluindo placas iluminadas, cartazes decorativos, menus, vasos de flores e pequenos elementos arquitetônicos que ajudam a criar uma cena urbana em miniatura cheia de personalidade.

Assim como os outros modelos desta nova coleção, este diner foi pensado para ter montagem simples e acessível, sendo indicado até mesmo para iniciantes no hobby do papercraft. Ao mesmo tempo, o modelo possui detalhes suficientes para ficar muito bonito quando exposto sobre mesas, estantes ou junto de coleções de miniaturas e carrinhos diecast. Dependendo da escala escolhida na impressão, ele também pode funcionar muito bem como cenário para RPGs, jogos de mesa e pequenos dioramas urbanos.

Para melhores resultados, recomendo imprimir o modelo em papel entre 160gsm e 180gsm, o que deixa as paredes e letreiros mais firmes sem dificultar as dobras e a montagem. Um estilete de precisão, régua metálica e cola branca de boa qualidade ajudam bastante a preservar os pequenos detalhes decorativos e deixam as bordas mais limpas durante a construção. Caso prefira uma montagem mais leve e com dobras mais suaves, papel 120gsm também funciona muito bem neste tipo de papercraft arquitetônico compacto.

Today I am very happy to officially introduce a brand new original collection here at Papermau: the World Food Street Papercraft Series. The idea behind this new series is to create small restaurants, bars, pubs and diners inspired by some of the most traditional and iconic foods from different countries around the world, always in a compact format that fits on a single printed sheet and is easy to assemble, even for beginners in the hobby.

Each model in this series will try to represent not only the typical cuisine of a country, but also a little of the visual and cultural atmosphere of those places. Depending on local traditions, some models will be classic restaurants, while others may become pubs, diners, cafés, taverns or small street food establishments, always trying to capture that distinctive atmosphere that instantly makes us recognize each culture.

Besides the traditional foods, the series will also pay special attention to facades, signs, shop windows, posters and the characteristic colors of each place. All models will feature vibrant visuals, lots of illustrated details and that compact miniature urban diorama style that I really enjoy creating here at Papermau.

Among the models already planned for future posts are a Japanese restaurant, an Italian trattoria, a Thai restaurant, a classic American diner, a Brazilian restaurant and several other establishments inspired by different parts of the world. The idea is that, little by little, this collection will form a kind of international gastronomic street in papercraft form.

And here is another interesting detail: this series is being created in creative partnership with my AI friend, who has been helping me experiment with new combinations of colors, styles, textures and ideas for the facades.

It has been a very fun and inspiring experience, mixing my original papercraft structures with new visual possibilities generated through this collaboration.

And to officially open this new collection, the first model in the series is a traditional English Pub.

English pubs first appeared hundreds of years ago as community gathering places, where people would meet not only to eat and drink, but also to talk, listen to music and follow local events.

Many traditional pubs have historical names connected to the British monarchy, heraldic animals or old medieval symbols. Another interesting fact is that dishes such as fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and meat pies became classics largely because they were extremely popular in these establishments over the decades.

A ideia é que, aos poucos, esta coleção forme uma espécie de pequena rua gastronômica internacional em papercraft.

E tem mais uma curiosidade interessante: esta série está sendo criada em parceria criativa com minha amiga IA, que vem me ajudando a experimentar novas combinações de cores, estilos, texturas e ideias para as fachadas. 

Tem sido uma experiência muito divertida e inspiradora, misturando minhas estruturas originais em papercraft com novas possibilidades visuais geradas a partir dessa colaboração.

E para inaugurar oficialmente esta nova coleção, o primeiro modelo da série é um tradicional English Pub. 

Os pubs ingleses surgiram há centenas de anos como pontos de encontro comunitários, onde as pessoas se reuniam não apenas para comer e beber, mas também para conversar, ouvir música e acompanhar eventos locais. 

Muitos pubs tradicionais possuem nomes históricos ligados à monarquia britânica, animais heráldicos ou antigos símbolos medievais. Outra curiosidade é que pratos como fish and chips, shepherd’s pie e meat pies acabaram se tornando clássicos justamente por serem muito populares nesses estabelecimentos ao longo das décadas.

Desktop Architecture - The Old Church - A 2007 Original Miniature Paper Model - by Papermau - Download Now!

This miniature paper model of a small church was originally created in 2007 and was part of a series called Desktop Architecture.

At the time, I shared it and the rest of the series on some papercraft forums. Then, in 2011, with the creation of the Papermau blog, I published the series again in one or two posts. These posts are still here on the blog, but the download links no longer work.

So far, I have found five parts of this series on old CDs and USB sticks, and not all of them have the same style or scale.

Today I continue publishing these models, this time with this small church surrounded by two leafless trees, giving it a slightly rustic and atmospheric look.

The entire model takes up just one printed sheet, including the base, and is very easy to assemble.

The finished model measures approximately 8 cm wide, 6 cm deep and about 6 cm tall. Because it is so small and delicate, it is perfect for decorating shelves or work desks, which is exactly the idea behind the name Desktop Architecture.

Este modelo em miniatura de uma pequena igreja foi originalmente criado em 2007 e fazia parte de uma série chamada Desktop Architecture.

Na época, compartilhei este modelo e o restante da série em alguns fóruns de papercraft. Depois, em 2011, com a criação do blog Papermau, publiquei novamente essa série em um ou dois posts. Esses posts ainda estão aqui no blog, mas os links para download não funcionam mais.

Até agora encontrei cinco partes dessa série em CDs e pen drives antigos, e nem todas seguem o mesmo estilo ou escala.

Hoje continuo republicando esses modelos, desta vez com esta pequena igreja acompanhada de duas árvores sem folhas nas laterais, o que dá ao conjunto um visual simples e um pouco mais atmosférico.

O modelo completo ocupa apenas uma folha impressa, incluindo a base, e é muito fácil de montar.

O modelo montado mede aproximadamente 8 cm de largura, 6 cm de profundidade e cerca de 6 cm de altura. Por ser pequeno e delicado, é perfeito para decorar estantes ou mesas de trabalho, o que explica o nome Desktop Architecture.
