A Little Medieval Castle Papercraft in Only Three Sheets - by Papermau Download Now!

Finally, here is the little medieval castle that I have been showing in the last few posts, now complete and ready to download.

When I published the first post about this model, the castle was already practically defined in terms of its overall shape and the pieces that would be part of the set. The templates were still a little disorganized on the screen, but the general idea was already exactly what you see here.

After that, I made a test build, mainly to check in practice if all the pieces fitted together correctly and also to observe small details that are sometimes difficult to notice when working only on the computer.

This first test also showed how small the model really is. Printed on A4 paper, the assembled castle, without the base, measures approximately 9 cm x 9 cm x 9 cm, while the optional base measures approximately 14 cm x 14 cm.

One thing I especially liked about this project is that the entire castle occupies only three printed sheets. The first page of the PDF is just the cover, and all the parts needed to build the model, including the optional base, are distributed over the following three pages.

As I mentioned in the test build post, there is nothing stopping you from printing some of the pieces more than once. By duplicating towers and walls, for example, you can experiment with other configurations and create a larger or different version of the castle shown in the photos.

The assembly is quite simple. The pieces are numbered and the corresponding positions on the base are numbered as well. Simply assemble each piece and glue it onto the area of the base with the same number. It is as simple as that.

The photos in this post show the model from several different angles and can also be used as an additional reference during assembly.

The result is a small medieval castle that takes up little space, uses only three sheets of paper for all its parts and still offers some interesting possibilities for those who want to experiment with different arrangements.

Quando publiquei o primeiro post sobre este modelo, o castelo já estava praticamente definido em relação à sua forma e às peças que fariam parte do conjunto. Os templates ainda estavam um pouco desorganizados na tela, mas a ideia geral já era exatamente esta.

Depois fiz uma montagem de teste, principalmente para conferir na prática se todas as peças encaixavam corretamente e também para observar pequenos detalhes que às vezes são difíceis de perceber enquanto trabalhamos apenas no computador.

Esse primeiro teste mostrou também como o modelo é realmente pequeno. Impresso em papel A4, o castelo montado, sem a base, mede aproximadamente 9 cm x 9 cm x 9 cm, enquanto a base opcional mede cerca de 14 cm x 14 cm.

Uma coisa de que gostei especialmente neste projeto é que todo o castelo ocupa apenas três folhas impressas. A primeira página do PDF é apenas a capa e todas as peças necessárias para construir o modelo, incluindo a base opcional, estão distribuídas nas três páginas seguintes.

Como mencionei no post da montagem de teste, nada impede que algumas peças sejam impressas mais de uma vez. Duplicando torres e muralhas, por exemplo, você pode experimentar outras configurações e criar uma versão maior ou diferente do castelo mostrado nas fotos.

A montagem é bastante simples. As peças são numeradas e os locais correspondentes também estão marcados na base. Basta montar cada peça e colá-la sobre a área da base que possui o mesmo número. Simples assim.

As fotos deste post também mostram o modelo por vários ângulos e podem servir como referência adicional durante a montagem.

O resultado é um pequeno castelo medieval que ocupa pouco espaço, utiliza apenas três folhas de papel para todas as peças e ainda permite algumas possibilidades interessantes para quem quiser experimentar outras disposições.

A Little Medieval Castle Papercraft -Test Build Completed Download Tomorrow!

Finally, I made the first real assembly of this little medieval castle. This is, so to speak, the test build of the model, the assembly I make to check whether the parts work on paper in the same way they worked virtually during development.

In the images you can see a little of this process. In one of them, several parts of the castle are still scattered across the worktable, among printed sheets, a craft knife, tweezers and other already assembled pieces. By comparing these parts with the craft knife, the tweezers and the cutting mat, you can also get a good idea of the small scale of the model. In the other images, the castle finally appears fully assembled, allowing a better view of the inner courtyard, the crenellated walls, the towers, the roofs and the large entrance gate.

The assembly also helped me to better visualize small details that only become truly noticeable when the model leaves the computer screen and becomes a real paper object. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the result and, unless something extraordinary prevents me from doing so, tomorrow I will publish the complete model for download here at Papermau.

When printed on A4 sheets, the castle itself measures approximately 9 cm wide, 9 cm long and 9 cm high. The base, which is optional, measures 14 cm x 14 cm. So, although it may look relatively large in the photographs, it is actually a very small miniature castle.

Another interesting feature is that the project can be used in a modular way. By printing extra copies of some parts, such as towers, walls and buildings, it is possible to experiment with different combinations and create larger castles with shapes and layouts different from the model shown here. In this way, the file can also serve as a starting point for small scenery, dioramas or customized medieval constructions.

I still have a few final adjustments to make to the files before publication, but the most important part is already done: the castle left the computer, became paper and the first assembly worked. Tomorrow, if everything goes as planned, it will be available for download.

Finalmente fiz a primeira montagem real deste pequeno castelo medieval. Este é, por assim dizer, o test build do modelo, a montagem que faço para conferir se as peças funcionam no papel da mesma maneira que funcionavam virtualmente durante o desenvolvimento.

Nas imagens vocês podem ver um pouco desse processo. Em uma delas, várias partes do castelo ainda estão espalhadas sobre a mesa de trabalho, entre folhas impressas, estilete, pinça e outras peças já montadas. Pela comparação dessas peças com o estilete, a pinça e o tapete de corte, vocês também podem ter uma boa noção da pequena escala do modelo. Nas outras imagens, o castelo aparece finalmente completo, permitindo ver melhor o pátio interno, as muralhas com ameias, as torres, os telhados e o grande portão de entrada.

A montagem também serviu para visualizar melhor pequenos detalhes que só se tornam realmente perceptíveis quando o modelo deixa a tela do computador e passa para o papel. No geral, fiquei bastante satisfeito com o resultado e, salvo algum acontecimento extraordinário que me impeça, amanhã publicarei o modelo completo para download aqui no Papermau.

Assim, o arquivo também pode servir como ponto de partida para pequenos cenários, dioramas ou construções medievais personalizadas.

Ainda vou fazer os últimos ajustes nos arquivos antes da publicação, mas a parte mais importante já está feita: o castelo saiu do computador, virou papel e a primeira montagem funcionou. Amanhã, se tudo correr normalmente, estará disponível para download.

Old Railway Building Papercraft in 1/480 Scale - by Stepan Prokop

This beautiful miniature paper model, simply called B-001, was created by modeler Stepan Prokop and depicts an old European-style building located beside a railway line.

Despite its extremely small 1/480 scale, the model features a very interesting level of detail. The façades have weathered textures, with different types of walls, doors and windows, while the dark roofs and the long covered platform beside the tracks give the whole scene the appearance of a small railway building that has already seen many decades of service.

The template includes the main body of the building, roofs, small structural parts, additional details and a textured base with the railway track running alongside the construction. Assembly diagrams are also included, showing the position of the different parts and making the building process easier to understand.

A particularly interesting detail is the set of bonus doors and windows included on the sheet. They are not simply alternative parts. They were designed for modelers who want to add a little more depth and realism to the finished model.

The technique is simple, but the result can make a big difference. The modeler can glue the main body of the building, especially the walls, onto slightly thicker paper or thin cardboard. The areas corresponding to the doors and windows are then carefully cut out, and the bonus doors and windows are glued behind these openings.

This way, instead of having doors and windows simply printed on a flat surface, they become slightly recessed into the walls. Even at such a tiny 1/480 scale, this small depth effect creates natural shadows and gives much more life and realism to the building.

Naturally, this kind of finishing requires a little more patience, mainly because of the very small size of the pieces, but it is exactly the kind of simple detail that can greatly improve the final result.

The B-001 can be a great addition to a small railway diorama, an urban or industrial scene, or simply an interesting architectural miniature to build and display.

Best of all, the download is completely free. There is just one important detail: to activate the download on CGTrader, you need to be logged into the site's community. If you do not have an account yet, you can create one for free from scratch or, even more simply, log in using your Google account.

Este belo modelo de papel em miniatura, chamado simplesmente B-001, foi criado pelo modelista Stepan Prokop e representa um antigo edifício de aparência tipicamente europeia, situado junto a uma linha ferroviária.

Apesar da escala extremamente reduzida de 1/480, o modelo apresenta um nível de detalhes muito interessante. As fachadas têm texturas envelhecidas, com diferentes tipos de paredes, portas e janelas, enquanto os telhados escuros e a longa cobertura junto aos trilhos ajudam a dar ao conjunto aquele aspecto de uma pequena construção ferroviária que já atravessou muitas décadas.

O template inclui o corpo principal do edifício, telhados, pequenas peças estruturais, detalhes adicionais e uma base texturizada com a linha férrea ao lado da construção. Também há diagramas de montagem que mostram a posição das diferentes peças e ajudam bastante durante a construção.

Um detalhe particularmente interessante são as portas e janelas bônus incluídas na folha. Elas não estão ali apenas como peças alternativas. Foram pensadas para quem quiser acrescentar um pouco mais de profundidade e realismo ao modelo.

A técnica é simples, mas o resultado pode fazer uma grande diferença. O modelista pode colar o corpo principal do prédio, especialmente as paredes, sobre um papel ou cartão um pouco mais grosso. Depois, as áreas correspondentes às portas e janelas são cuidadosamente recortadas. As portas e janelas bônus são então coladas por trás dessas aberturas.

Dessa forma, em vez de portas e janelas simplesmente impressas sobre uma superfície plana, elas ficam ligeiramente recuadas em relação às paredes. Mesmo em uma escala tão pequena como 1/480, esse pequeno efeito de profundidade cria sombras naturais e dá muito mais vida e realismo à construção.

Naturalmente, esse tipo de acabamento exige um pouco mais de paciência, principalmente por causa das dimensões reduzidas das peças, mas é justamente um daqueles detalhes simples que podem valorizar bastante o resultado final.

O B-001 pode ser uma ótima adição a um pequeno diorama ferroviário, cenário urbano ou industrial, ou simplesmente uma interessante miniatura arquitetônica para montar e expor.

A Little Medieval Castle Papercraft - Work in Progress - by Papermau

I have already created a few papercraft castles over the years, and they are scattered throughout different posts here on the blog. To find them, simply browse the Medieval, Castle and Exclusive tags.

You will also find another castle that I started developing almost ten years ago but never managed to finish. As far as I can remember, I only published its main front section and a separate crenellated wall. The project was eventually left aside, as sometimes happens when one idea gives way to several others.

The images above and below show the new castle I am currently working on. This time, the project is much further along and is practically complete, at least as far as the creation of its individual parts is concerned. All the main components have already been designed, including the walls, towers, gates, internal buildings, roofs and a complete display base with stone paths and vegetation.

The template is still in a preliminary state. I now need to add the glue tabs, make a few adjustments and include some additional elements related to the textures and final appearance of the model. After that, all the parts will have to be properly arranged on the printable sheets, and I will need to check whether the assembly process is clear and functional.

As soon as the project is minimally resolved and ready to be assembled, it will be published here at Papermau. There are still a few time-consuming details ahead, but this time the castle is genuinely close to completion.

Vocês também encontrarão outro castelo que comecei a desenvolver há quase dez anos, mas que nunca cheguei a concluir. O projeto acabou ficando de lado, como algumas vezes acontece quando uma ideia dá lugar a várias outras.

As imagens acima mostram o novo castelo em que estou trabalhando. Desta vez, o projeto está bem mais adiantado e praticamente pronto, pelo menos no que diz respeito à criação de suas peças. Todas as partes principais já foram desenhadas, incluindo as muralhas, torres, portões, construções internas, telhados e uma base completa com caminhos de pedra e vegetação.

A imagem abaixo mostra o template em seu estado atual, ainda com todas as peças espalhadas e desorganizadas. Agora falta acrescentar as abas de colagem, fazer alguns ajustes e incluir outros elementos relacionados às texturas e ao acabamento do modelo. Depois disso, ainda será necessário distribuir corretamente todas as peças nas folhas para impressão e verificar se a montagem pode ser feita de maneira clara e funcional.

Assim que o projeto estiver minimamente resolvido e em condições de ser montado, ele será publicado aqui no Papermau. Ainda existem alguns detalhes trabalhosos pela frente, mas desta vez o castelo está realmente muito próximo de ser concluído.

Color, Cut and Build Your Own Little Paper Town - Printable Papercrafts for Kids - by Print Box

These charming papercrafts were created especially for children and offer a simple, fun and very creative activity: building a completely personalized little paper town.

The set features houses, small shops, characters, animals and other elements that can be cut out, folded and arranged on an illustrated base filled with streets, trees and open spaces.

The shapes are quite simple, with structures resembling small boxes, making the models accessible even to children having their first contact with the world of papercrafts. Naturally, the use of scissors should always be supervised by an adult.

One of the most interesting aspects of this project is that the models are offered mainly in black and white. Instead of providing a finished town with predetermined colors, the creators leave plenty of room for children to use colored pencils, crayons, markers or even small pieces of colored paper to decorate the buildings and characters.

This means that the same little house can become dozens of completely different houses. A shop can receive a colorful façade, new signs, drawings on its walls or even a name invented by the child. The blank spaces also allow the addition of doors, windows, flowers, trees, vehicles and anything else their imagination might suggest.

Besides helping to develop coordination through cutting, folding and gluing, the activity encourages creativity and storytelling. Once the models are finished, children can arrange the buildings, place the characters around the streets and invent the name, inhabitants and adventures of their own town.

These papercrafts are offered by the Japanese website Print Box, connected to Toyokawa Printing Co., Ltd., also known as Toyokawa Insatsu, a company located in the city of Toyokawa, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

The company works with printing and the creation of advertising and digital materials, while also offering free projects on its website, including these paper models designed for children.

It is an unpretentious but very well-designed project, perfect for an afternoon of family activities, school projects or simply keeping children away from screens for a few hours.

O conjunto apresenta casas, pequenas lojas, personagens, animais e outros elementos que podem ser recortados, dobrados e combinados sobre uma base ilustrada com ruas, árvores e espaços livres.

Depois que os modelos estiverem prontos, as crianças poderão organizar os prédios, distribuir os personagens pelas ruas e inventar o nome, os moradores e as aventuras de sua cidade.
