Today I am sharing the Medieval Half-Timber House One-Sheet Papercraft, a small medieval paper building that is compact, easy to assemble and specially designed for dioramas, tabletop RPGs, wargames, miniature scenery and desktop decoration.

Even though it occupies only a single printed sheet, this model offers a good amount of visual detail and a strong medieval atmosphere, making it suitable both as a standalone piece and as part of a medieval village, a fantasy setting or a small historical display.

This papercraft is directly inspired by another medieval house that I previously published here on the blog. In fact, the structure and overall shape are basically the same, but the visual presentation is quite different. The original version occupies three printed sheets and features simple textures with basic colors, almost in a minimalist or cartoon style.

In this new edition, I kept the same architecture but applied more realistic textures, with aged wood, worn stone walls, weathered roof tiles and subtle dirt and aging effects, giving the model a more immersive and believable appearance.

Because of these new textures, this version works especially well for medieval villages, tabletop RPG adventures, fantasy wargames, historical dioramas and even miniature photography. The darker tones and more realistic surfaces help create a richer atmosphere while still keeping the model beginner-friendly and easy to build.

Another advantage of this version is its compact format. Since it is a relatively small model printed on only one sheet, paper between 100 and 120 grams usually works very well and helps make folding and assembly easier. The older version that inspired this model, on the other hand, is much larger and can benefit from thicker paper such as 160, 180 or even 240 grams for extra rigidity and durability.

At the end of this post I will leave the links both for this new realistic-texture version and for the older edition with its simpler, minimalist and almost cartoon-style appearance, so you can choose the one that best fits your project or collection.

Apesar de ocupar apenas uma única folha impressa, este modelo oferece um bom nível de detalhes visuais e uma atmosfera medieval bem marcada, podendo ser usado tanto como peça isolada quanto como parte de uma vila medieval, um cenário de fantasia ou uma pequena composição histórica.

Este papercraft é inspirado diretamente em outra casa medieval que publiquei anteriormente aqui no blog. Na verdade, a estrutura e o formato geral são basicamente os mesmos, mas a apresentação visual é bem diferente. A versão original ocupa três folhas impressas e possui texturas simples, com cores básicas, quase em um estilo minimalista ou cartoon.

Nesta nova edição, mantive a mesma arquitetura, mas apliquei texturas mais realistas, com madeira envelhecida, paredes de pedra gastas, telhado com aparência usada e pequenos efeitos de sujeira e desgaste, dando ao modelo um visual mais imersivo e convincente.

Por causa dessas novas texturas, esta versão funciona muito bem para vilarejos medievais, aventuras de RPG de mesa, wargames de fantasia, dioramas históricos e até fotografia de miniaturas. Os tons mais escuros e as superfícies mais realistas ajudam a criar um clima mais atmosférico, sem deixar o modelo complicado de montar.

Outra vantagem desta versão é o formato compacto. Como é um modelo relativamente pequeno e impresso em apenas uma folha, papéis entre 100 e 120 gramas costumam funcionar muito bem, facilitando as dobras e a montagem. Já a versão antiga que inspirou este modelo, por ser bem maior, pode se beneficiar de papéis mais grossos, como 160, 180 ou até mesmo 240 gramas, para ganhar mais rigidez e durabilidade.

One-Sheet Retro Robot Miniature Paper Toy - by Projekt Bastelbogen

Created by German designer and engineer Boris Voigt, from the educational website Projekt Bastelbogen, this charming little paper robot is one of those models that prove simple projects can also have a lot of personality and charm.

Occupying only a single printed sheet, this compact paper toy features a retro-futuristic look that reminds me of classic science fiction illustrations, old tin toys and those friendly robots often seen in vintage educational books and children’s television programs.

Even with its small format, the model features articulated-looking arms, expressive red eyes and a very well-balanced structure, resulting in a fun and charismatic appearance once assembled. According to the author, the finished model measures approximately 9 cm long, 6.5 cm wide and 8.3 cm high, making it perfect for desktop decoration, paper toy collections, school projects or simply as a quick and relaxing papercraft build.

The difficulty level is medium, mainly because of the cylindrical arms and some small folding parts, but nothing too complicated for anyone with a little experience in papercraft. Since the model is relatively small, I believe it is best printed on 120 grams paper or thicker, which will help give more rigidity to the structure and make the final result sturdier and cleaner.

Projekt Bastelbogen is a very interesting German website maintained by Boris Voigt, offering a large collection of free papercrafts, educational models, decorative objects, vehicles, buildings, paper stars, paper toys and models for train layouts and dioramas. Many of the models are designed especially for beginners and children, while others feature a higher level of detail that also appeals to more experienced hobbyists. It is the kind of website that clearly reflects the author’s passion for creativity, education and handcrafted projects.

Here on Papermau I have already featured several models created by Boris Voigt over the years, especially his architectural models, easy-to-build vehicles and educational paper toys, always because of the originality, accessibility and friendly design style of his creations.

Mesmo com seu formato compacto, o modelo apresenta braços articulados, olhos vermelhos expressivos e uma estrutura muito bem equilibrada, resultando em uma aparência divertida e bastante simpática quando montado. Traditional Japanese Tea House Papercraft - Easy One-Sheet ModelComing This Week At Papermau

Today I want to share a small preview of a new original Papermau model that will be published here on the blog later this week: a traditional Japanese Tea House papercraft. The model was designed to be very easy to assemble and will occupy only one printed sheet, making it a nice quick project for anyone who enjoys miniature buildings and simple architectural paper models.

Although its format may remind some readers of the “Restaurants Around The World” series, this Japanese Tea House is an independent model and is not part of that collection. This one was created with a quieter and more nostalgic atmosphere, inspired by old Japanese wooden buildings, narrow streets and traditional tea shops.

The model features weathered plaster walls, dark ceramic roof tiles, wooden lattice windows, bamboo blinds, a small stone base, hanging lanterns and a blue “noren” curtain at the entrance. The large Japanese ideograms on the front sign read “茶屋” (“Chaya”), meaning “Tea House”, while the vertical sign beside the door says “営業中” (“Eigyōchū”), meaning “Open For Business”.

A curious detail about traditional Japanese tea houses is that they were often designed to make visitors slow down before entering. Gardens, narrow paths, low entrances and quiet interiors helped create a transition between the busy outside world and the peaceful atmosphere of the tea ceremony. Este foi criado com uma atmosfera mais calma e nostálgica, inspirada nas antigas construções japonesas de madeira, ruas estreitas e tradicionais casas de chá.

O modelo apresenta paredes de reboco envelhecido, telhas cerâmicas escuras, janelas de madeira em treliça, persianas de bambu, uma pequena base de pedra, lanternas suspensas e uma cortina azul “noren” na entrada. American Police Car Papercraft - Dallas Police Department Version by Paper Rabbit

Created by the South Korean designer Paper Rabbit, this papercraft reproduces a modern Dallas Police Department patrol car in a compact and nicely detailed format. Inspired by the American police vehicles often seen in movies and TV series, the model recreates the characteristic look of contemporary U.S. police cars.

The model features several interesting details, such as the light bars, front bumper guard, police markings, emergency lights and the traditional black-and-white paint scheme used by the Dallas Police Department. Even though the model is compact, the final assembled result looks very convincing.

Paper Rabbit is already known among papercraft enthusiasts for creating urban vehicle models with relatively simple assembly and well made textures. Restaurants Around The World - 02 - American Diner Papercraft by Papermau - Download Now!

This colorful miniature American diner is the second model in the new original “Restaurants Around The World Papercraft Collection”, a series created here at Papermau to celebrate some of the most iconic restaurants, traditional foods and food cultures from different countries around the world. After the release of the first model in the series, the traditional English pub “The Crown & Tankard”, today I am very happy to present this classic retro-style American Diner, inspired by the famous roadside restaurants and small-town diners that became symbols of American culture during the 1940s, 50s and 60s.

An interesting curiosity about traditional American Diners is that many of them originally appeared as small mobile dining cars in the late 19th century, serving workers, travelers and people leaving theaters and factories late at night. Over the decades, these establishments evolved into the classic fixed diners that became one of the great symbols of American popular culture, famous for hamburgers, milkshakes, coffee and bright decorations filled with neon signs and retro charm. Here at Papermau, this original concept was adapted to the compact and cozy style of this series, transforming the traditional metallic dining car into a small urban restaurant full of personality.

With its vibrant red-and-white colors, vintage signs, hamburgers, milkshakes, fries and that nostalgic atmosphere so characteristic of classic American diners, this little papercraft tries to capture the welcoming spirit of those restaurants seen in movies, TV shows and old highways across the United States. Although it occupies only one printed sheet, the model includes many illustrated details such as illuminated signs, decorative posters, menus, flower pots and small architectural elements that help create a lively miniature urban scene.

Like the other models in this new collection, this diner was designed to be simple and accessible to assemble, making it suitable even for beginners in the papercraft hobby. At the same time, the model has enough decorative details to look very nice when displayed on desks, shelves or together with miniature collections and diecast cars. Depending on the scale chosen when printing, it can also work very well as scenery for RPGs, tabletop games and small urban dioramas.

For best results, I recommend printing the model on paper between 160gsm and 180gsm, which gives the walls and signs a sturdier appearance without making the folds and assembly difficult. A precision hobby knife, a metal ruler and good quality white glue will help preserve the tiny decorative details and create cleaner edges during construction. If you prefer a lighter build with softer folds, 120gsm paper also works very well for this type of compact architectural papercraft.
