Star Wars - AT-AT Miniature Papercraft In 1/250 Scale - by Masayu-i

Created by the talented Japanese designer Masayu-i, this new papercraft represents an AT-AT from the Star Wars saga in a compact scale of approximately 1/250, ideal for those who enjoy detailed miniatures without taking up much space. 

Even at a reduced size, the model preserves the classic proportions of the iconic Imperial walker, with emphasis on its long articulated legs and its distinctive angular body.

Those who follow the blog are already familiar with Masayu-i’s work, frequently featured here for his small-scale models that are always well designed and easy to assemble. His papercrafts usually balance structural simplicity with visual accuracy, making them perfect for beginners as well as more experienced modelers looking for quick and satisfying builds. 

A good example is the Snow Speeder recently published, which has been gaining traction among the most visited posts of the month, along with other models by the same author featured here, such as the X-Wing Starfighter miniature and the BDX Droid, both following this same compact and efficient approach.

In addition to this new AT-AT, the author has recently created a page gathering virtually all of his previously published models on his own website. This makes it much easier to explore his full body of work, including several vehicles and spacecraft inspired by the Star Wars universe.

According to the author himself, this AT-AT was designed as a simple and straightforward model, while still preserving the characteristic look of the original vehicle even at a reduced scale, reinforcing his approach of creating accessible yet visually faithful miniatures. He also mentions that the model is divided into two separate sheets to make printing and assembly easier.

Unlike many papercrafts offered in PDF format, this model is available as .PNG files, distributed across two separate printable pages. 

On the download page itself, the author also generously shares several detailed step-by-step assembly photos, which should leave no doubts for anyone interested in building their own AT-AT.

Quem acompanha o blog já conhece o trabalho de Masayu-i, frequentemente destacado aqui por seus modelos em pequena escala, sempre bem resolvidos e com montagem acessível. Seus papercrafts costumam equilibrar simplicidade estrutural com fidelidade visual, o que os torna perfeitos tanto para iniciantes quanto para modelistas mais experientes que buscam projetos rápidos e bem acabados.

Linebacker Battlemech Papercraft - Free Detailed Sci-Fi Mech PDO Download - by Punakettu

This impressive mech, called Linebacker, is a highly detailed papercraft model based on a design created by Finnish designer Punakettu, well known for his amazing sci-fi mechs and vehicle models. 

With its heavy look, full of mechanical panels, weathering effects and robust weaponry, the Linebacker strongly resembles classic battlemechs, those humanoid combat machines often seen in futuristic settings and strategy games.

The model shared here was organized and made available by the user Monkeyrum, who reposted the original PDO file and properly credits Punakettu for the outstanding modeling and texturing work, noting that without the original creator’s effort this build would not exist.

The level of detail in this mech is quite high, featuring many small parts, complex joints and textures that simulate wear, dirt and heavy battlefield use, making it a great project for experienced modelers or anyone looking for a more challenging build.

This papercraft comes in .PDO format, which means that to properly view the model in 3D, organize the parts or print the template, you will need Pepakura Viewer, a free software. At the end of this post you will find the links to download both the model and the viewer.

Steampunk Sub Marine Explorer Papercraft - Free Printable PDF by RocketmanTan

This beautiful papercraft features a steampunk-style submarine called Sub Marine Explorer, inspired by one of the earliest real submersible vessels ever created during the nineteenth century, a time when inventors were still experimenting with ways to explore the ocean depths long before modern submarines existed. 

The design blends historical engineering with a retro industrial aesthetic, featuring circular portholes, visible rivets and a solid, mechanical structure that gives the model a very distinctive and eye-catching look.

The model was created by designer Bryan Tan, aka RocketmanTan, and is available for free download on his DeviantArt page. The template comes in 03 well-organized pages, including all the parts needed to build the submarine, along with details such as propeller, rudder and optional elements that enhance the final result. 

Although the exact scale is not specified, the finished model appears to be compact, making it perfect for display on desks or as part of small themed dioramas.

The assembly follows a classic papercraft structure, with an internal spine and segmented sections that shape the hull, similar to techniques used in more advanced ship models. The pages clearly show the lower hull, upper hull, conning tower and small details like portholes and surface textures, making the building process easier and helping achieve a clean and accurate final model.

The real Sub Marine Explorer, which inspired this model, was designed in the 1860s by German-American engineer Julius H. Kroehl and is considered one of the first submarines capable of diving and resurfacing on its own. 

It was used in pearl diving operations in Panama, allowing workers to collect oysters directly from the ocean floor. Another remarkable feature was its pressurized chamber system, which allowed divers to exit the vessel underwater, something quite advanced for its time. 

The submarine could also reach greater depths than most vessels of its era, making it a true pioneer in underwater exploration technology.

Another nice feature of this papercraft is the inclusion of a simple display base with a seabed background, adding a bit of scenery that enhances the overall presentation and transforms the model into a small display piece rather than just a standalone object.

This is one of those projects that can appeal to both beginners and more experienced modelers, as it combines a relatively simple build with a unique and historically inspired final result. 

The model can be downloaded for free from the author’s DeviantArt page, making it a great addition for anyone interested in steampunk designs, submarines or unusual papercraft subjects.

The images below show the real Sub Marine Explorer, the historic submarine that inspired this papercraft. What we see today is the original hull, now abandoned and partially corroded by time, located on a beach in the Pearl Islands, Panama, where it has remained since the late 1860s.

Below that, the original technical blueprint reveals the internal structure of the submarine, highlighting its compressed air compartments, ballast areas and the crew working chamber, offering a clear view of how this ingenious machine once operated.

As páginas mostram claramente as partes do casco inferior, superior, torre de comando e detalhes como escotilhas e rebites, o que ajuda bastante durante o processo de montagem e garante um resultado final bem fiel ao conceito original.

O Sub Marine Explorer real, que inspira este modelo, foi um dos primeiros submarinos utilizados para exploração e trabalho subaquático, tendo sido projetado na década de 1860 por Julius H. Kroehl. 

Uma curiosidade interessante é que ele foi utilizado para coleta de pérolas, algo bastante inovador para a época, permitindo que mergulhadores trabalhassem em maiores profundidades. Outra curiosidade é que o submarino utilizava um sistema primitivo de pressurização, o que infelizmente causou problemas de saúde na tripulação devido ao pouco entendimento sobre descompressão naquele período.

Outro detalhe interessante deste papercraft é a inclusão de uma base simples com cenário submarino, incluindo pequenos elementos decorativos que simulam o fundo do mar, o que ajuda a valorizar ainda mais o modelo quando montado. Isso transforma o conjunto em uma pequena peça de exibição, e não apenas um modelo isolado.

The Ephemeral Museum - Star Wars Stormtrooper Custom Papercraft by Paper-Replika & Kuzzzma

This Ephemeral Museum entry features a classic Star Wars Stormtrooper papercraft created by Indonesian designer Julius Perdana, from the well-known website Paper Replika, presented here in a custom recolor version by Kuzzzma, from the Private Universe website.

Julius Perdana is one of the most respected papercraft designers in the world, known for his highly detailed models, especially in 1/6 scale, often reaching around 30 cm in height when assembled, with templates that usually span multiple printed pages and offer an impressive level of realism for paper models.

The original model is based on the iconic Stormtroopers from the Star Wars universe, the armored soldiers that first appeared in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and quickly became one of the most recognizable symbols of the entire franchise.

The version shown here is a recolor created by Kuzzzma, bringing a fresh visual interpretation to the original template and demonstrating how versatile paper models can be when reimagined by different artists, something very common and appreciated within the papercraft community.

According to Kuzzzma, this model has a medium difficulty level, rated at three out of five stars, and takes approximately ten hours to complete, making it a very enjoyable project for modelers who already have some experience with detailed paper builds.

For best results, I recommend printing this model on paper between 100 and 120 grams, as some of the smaller parts may not fold well if thicker cardstock is used.

Garage Stand Papercraft For Miniatures In 1/64 Scale - New Layered 3D Version - by Papermau - Download Now!

This 1/64 scale garage papercraft lets you build a realistic layered diorama stand for your diecast cars. This new version is updated with layered details that create a subtle 3D depth effect, making the model more realistic while keeping it simple and easy to build.

The original version, published back in 2021, was a very simple project that stayed on my hard drive for years before I finally decided to share it. To my surprise, it became one of the most viewed and downloaded models on the blog, and it still remains among the top posts of all time.

Later on, I also published a larger version in 1/43 scale, based on the same idea but designed for bigger diecast models.

This new version keeps the same compact format and full compatibility with 1/64 scale diecast cars from brands such as Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, GreenLight and Majorette, but now includes separate elements like door frames, wall sections and signs that can be cut, reinforced and glued over the main structure, creating a nice layered relief effect.

The technique is simple and widely used in paper models, known as layered papercraft or 2.5D, where selected parts are slightly raised from the surface to add depth without making the build more complicated.

If you want to build your own garage with this 3D effect, the model is, as always, free, and the download is easy and safe, directly from Google Drive.

Another thing people often ask about is the blue car in the photos. It is a custom Hot Wheels Nash Metropolitan, known as the MetroRail version, released in the early 2000s, featuring metallic blue paint, flame graphics and an exposed engine, a classic casting that fits perfectly in garage scenes like this.

Just like the original version, the entire template fits on a single sheet of A4 or Letter size paper, and this time you can build two complete garage stands per page, each with its own extra parts for customization.

If you liked the previous versions, this one offers a small but noticeable upgrade in realism, while keeping the same simple and straightforward building experience.
