Halloween Special - A Cute Witch, Duskull And Jack-O'-Lantern Papercraft Collection - by Tanaka Masahiko

Halloween doesn't always have to be about frightening monsters, creepy creatures and haunted houses. Sometimes, a little witch with a friendly smile, a curious ghostly Pokémon and a couple of cheerful pumpkins are more than enough to bring some Halloween spirit to your desk or bookshelf. And that is exactly what we have here, thanks to Japanese designer Tanaka Masahiko, who created this lovely little collection of paper toys.

The collection consists of three different papercrafts: a cute little witch, the Ghost-type Pokémon Duskull, known in Japan as Yomawaru, and a traditional Jack-O'-Lantern pumpkin. In the photograph shared by the author, the pumpkin appears in two different sizes, making the group look like a small family of Halloween characters. Together, they form a charming little scene that is much more adorable than frightening.

Each model has its own personality. The little witch, with her blonde hair, pointed hat and black dress, looks like a character straight out of a Japanese anime. Duskull, with its unusual skull-shaped face, large eyes and mysterious appearance, adds a slightly spooky touch to the collection. And then there are the pumpkins, with their angular shapes and cheerful expressions, proving that even the simplest paper models can have plenty of character.

One of the nicest things about this collection is that each model fits on just a single sheet of paper. That's right, only one sheet for the little witch, one for Duskull and one for the pumpkin! According to Tanaka Masahiko, the models were designed using Art of Illusion, Pepakura Designer, Inkscape and some tools developed by himself. The author also provides a difficulty rating for each papercraft: one star for the pumpkin, two stars for Duskull and three stars for the little witch. So, if you're a beginner, the pumpkin might be a good place to start.

What I particularly like about these little paper toys is how well they work together. Although each model can be displayed individually, placing them side by side creates a miniature Halloween scene with a distinctly Japanese charm. You don't need an elaborate diorama or a complicated background to make them look good. A small corner of a shelf, a desk or even a windowsill is enough to give these characters a place to call home during the Halloween season.

All three templates are available for free as separate PDF files on Tanaka Masahiko's page at the Japanese platform Note. They are a nice little project for a quiet afternoon of cutting, folding and gluing, and since each one requires only a single sheet of paper, you can build the whole collection without using much material. If you're looking for something cute, simple and a little different to decorate your home this Halloween, these Japanese paper toys are definitely worth a look.

O Halloween nem sempre precisa ser uma festa de monstros assustadores, criaturas horripilantes e casas mal-assombradas. Às vezes, uma pequena bruxinha com um sorriso simpático, um curioso Pokémon fantasmagórico e algumas abóboras sorridentes são mais do que suficientes para trazer um pouco do espírito do Dia das Bruxas para sua mesa ou estante. E é exatamente isso que temos aqui, graças ao designer japonês Tanaka Masahiko, que criou esta encantadora coleção de brinquedos de papel.

A coleção é composta por três papercrafts diferentes: uma simpática bruxinha, o Pokémon do tipo Fantasma Duskull, conhecido no Japão como Yomawaru, e uma tradicional abóbora de Halloween, ou Jack-O'-Lantern. Na fotografia compartilhada pelo autor, a abóbora aparece em dois tamanhos diferentes, fazendo com que o conjunto pareça uma pequena família de personagens de Halloween. Juntos, eles formam uma cena muito mais fofa do que assustadora.

Cada modelo tem sua própria personalidade. A bruxinha, com seus cabelos loiros, chapéu pontudo e vestido preto, parece ter saído diretamente de um anime japonês. E temos ainda as abóboras, com suas formas angulosas e expressões alegres, provando que até os modelos de papel mais simples podem ter muita personalidade.

Uma das coisas mais legais dessa coleção é que cada modelo ocupa apenas uma folha de papel. Isso mesmo, apenas uma folha para a bruxinha, uma para Duskull e outra para a abóbora! Segundo Tanaka Masahiko, os modelos foram desenvolvidos utilizando os programas Art of Illusion, Pepakura Designer, Inkscape e algumas ferramentas criadas por ele próprio. O autor também informa o grau de dificuldade de cada papercraft: uma estrela para a abóbora, duas estrelas para Duskull e três estrelas para a bruxinha. Portanto, se você está começando agora no hobby, a abóbora pode ser uma boa escolha para sua primeira montagem.

O que mais me agrada nesses pequenos brinquedos de papel é como eles combinam bem uns com os outros. Embora cada modelo possa ser exibido individualmente, colocá-los lado a lado cria uma pequena cena de Halloween com um charme tipicamente japonês. Não é necessário um diorama elaborado ou um cenário complicado para que fiquem bonitos. Um cantinho de uma estante, uma mesa ou até mesmo o parapeito de uma janela é suficiente para dar a esses personagens um lugar especial durante a temporada de Halloween.

Outdoor Shooting Range Papercraft Diorama In 1/64 Scaleby Papermau - Download Now!

After several weeks of work, adjustments and a few last-minute additions, the Outdoor Shooting Range Papercraft Diorama is finally ready for download! This is a small outdoor shooting range in 1/64 scale, created especially for Papermau.

Those who have been following the previous posts already know how this project started. While working on the new version of my Ammu-Nation Gun Shop, inspired by GTA V, I came up with the idea of adding a small shooting range next to the building. What was supposed to be just a simple addition gradually grew, gained new details and eventually became a completely independent papercraft diorama.

As I mentioned before, this shooting range does not actually exist in GTA V. It is an original creation of mine, although I designed it to match the Ammu-Nation and the general atmosphere of the game.

The diorama includes three wooden shooting benches with printed details representing weapons and equipment, ammunition boxes of different sizes, safety barriers, warning signs, several types of targets and a large wooden and earth backstop at the far end of the range. I wanted the whole place to look well used, so I added cracked concrete, dry soil, scattered vegetation, weathered wood and plenty of small signs of wear and tear.

The PDF file contains five pages. The first page features an image of the assembled model, while the following three pages contain all the parts needed to build the complete diorama. The fifth page is entirely optional and includes additional accessories such as extra ammunition boxes, wooden crates, sandbags, targets and safety signs.

I added this extra sheet especially for those who enjoy customizing their models. You can use the additional pieces to make the shooting range look busier, arrange the accessories in different ways or simply save some of them for other papercraft projects.

Although it was originally designed to accompany the Ammu-Nation, the shooting range can also be built and displayed on its own. In 1/64 scale, it can be used as a backdrop for miniature photography, as part of a larger diorama or alongside die-cast vehicles and miniature figures.

Another interesting possibility is resizing the templates before printing. Since the model uses relatively simple structures, I believe it could be adapted to other scales, including scenery for the classic Green Army Men plastic soldiers or even larger action figures, such as the famous 3.75-inch G.I. Joe figures.

Of course, the larger the scale, the more space you will need, and some adjustments may be necessary. On the other hand, a larger version would also give you more room to add your own details and create a completely customized shooting range.

Depois de algumas semanas de trabalho, ajustes e alguns acréscimos de última hora, o Outdoor Shooting Range Papercraft Diorama finalmente está pronto para download! Trata-se de um pequeno campo de tiro ao ar livre em escala 1/64, criado especialmente para o Papermau.

Quem acompanhou as publicações anteriores já sabe como este projeto começou. Enquanto trabalhava na nova versão da minha loja Ammu-Nation, inspirada em GTA V, tive a ideia de acrescentar um pequeno campo de tiro ao lado do edifício. O que deveria ser apenas um complemento foi crescendo, ganhando novos detalhes e acabou se transformando em um diorama de papel completamente independente.

Como já expliquei anteriormente, este campo de tiro não existe em GTA V. É uma criação original minha, embora tenha sido desenvolvido para combinar visualmente com a Ammu-Nation e com a atmosfera geral do jogo.

O diorama inclui três bancadas de madeira com detalhes impressos representando armas e equipamentos, caixas de munição de diferentes tamanhos, barreiras de segurança, placas de advertência, diversos tipos de alvos e um grande anteparo de madeira e terra na parte posterior. Procurei dar ao conjunto uma aparência bastante utilizada, com texturas de concreto rachado, terra seca, vegetação esparsa, madeira envelhecida e pequenas marcas de desgaste espalhadas pelo cenário.

O arquivo PDF contém cinco páginas. A primeira apresenta uma imagem do modelo montado, enquanto as três páginas seguintes trazem todas as peças necessárias para construir o diorama completo. A quinta página é inteiramente opcional e reúne acessórios adicionais, como mais caixas de munição, caixotes de madeira, sacos de areia, alvos e placas de segurança.

Acrescentei essa folha extra especialmente para quem gosta de personalizar seus modelos. Com ela, é possível deixar o campo de tiro mais movimentado, organizar os acessórios de diferentes maneiras ou simplesmente guardar algumas peças para utilizar em outros projetos de papel.

Embora tenha sido criado originalmente para acompanhar a Ammu-Nation, o campo de tiro também pode ser montado e utilizado separadamente. Na escala 1/64, ele pode servir como cenário para fotografias de miniaturas, integrar dioramas maiores ou complementar coleções de veículos e figuras em miniatura.

Outra possibilidade interessante é redimensionar as folhas antes da impressão. Como o modelo utiliza estruturas relativamente simples, acredito que possa ser adaptado para outras escalas, incluindo cenários para os tradicionais soldadinhos de plástico, conhecidos como Green Army Men, ou até mesmo para figuras de ação maiores, como os clássicos G.I. Joe de 3,75 polegadas.

Naturalmente, quanto maior a escala escolhida, maior será o espaço necessário para a montagem, e talvez seja preciso fazer alguns ajustes. Por outro lado, uma versão ampliada também permitiria acrescentar novos detalhes e criar um campo de tiro completamente personalizado.

Halloween Special - Two Cute Haunted House Papercraft Dioramas by Made To Be A Momma

Halloween doesn't always have to be scary. Sometimes a haunted house can be a cheerful little place, with smiling ghosts, friendly bats, colorful pumpkins and children dressed up for trick-or-treating.

Created by Katie, from the Made To Be A Momma website, these two cute Halloween papercraft dioramas are simple projects designed especially for children, although I think they can be enjoyed by paper modelers of all ages.

There are two different scenes to choose from. The first features a crooked haunted house surrounded by ghosts, pumpkins and a little bat flying under the moon. The second shows another Halloween house, this time with two costumed children ready to collect their treats.

Both templates are in black and white, so you can color them however you like before cutting out the pieces. Once assembled, the circular base allows the little scenes to stand on their own, making them nice decorations for a desk, shelf or windowsill.

One thing I particularly appreciate about this project is how easy it is to get the templates. They are available as a free PDF directly on the original website, without having to subscribe, register or provide an email address. Just find the printable link, click and save the file.

All you need is some paper, colored pencils or markers, scissors and a little glue. A simple and enjoyable Halloween activity for a quiet afternoon at home or in the classroom.

Criados por Katie, do site Made To Be A Momma, estes dois simpáticos dioramas de papel de Halloween são projetos simples, pensados especialmente para crianças, embora eu ache que possam divertir modelistas de papel de todas as idades.

São dois cenários diferentes para escolher. O primeiro apresenta uma casa mal-assombrada toda tortinha, cercada por fantasmas, abóboras e um pequeno morcego voando sob a lua. O segundo mostra outra casa de Halloween, desta vez com duas crianças fantasiadas e prontas para sair em busca de doces.

Revisiting Keroliver's Amazing Solar Vehicles Papercraft Collection via Le Forum en Papier

A few years ago, I featured here on the blog a wonderful collection of solar-powered vehicle papercrafts created by the talented French designer and model maker Keroliver. Since quite some time has passed, I thought it would be a good opportunity to revisit this remarkable project, especially for readers who may have missed it the first time.

Back in November 2013, Keroliver started a thread called Voitures Solaires (Solar Cars) at Le Forum en Papier, sharing his paper reproductions of real solar-powered vehicles, including experimental prototypes and racing machines developed by universities and engineering teams from around the world. More than a decade later, the thread has become an impressive archive of solar vehicle designs and papercraft modeling.

The photographs illustrating this post show just a small sample of his creations. Some look almost like conventional automobiles, while others feature enormous solar panels, unusual aerodynamic shapes and lightweight structures that seem straight out of a science fiction movie. A few models even include opening doors, movable parts and surprisingly delicate details.

One thing I particularly admire about Keroliver's work is how he manages to reproduce such unusual machines in relatively small scales. His favorite scale is 1/64, although many of the newer models are also available in 1/43. Some are quite simple to assemble, while others will certainly test your patience and modeling skills.

All these papercrafts are shared at Le Forum en Papier, which, in my opinion, is the best papercraft forum in all of Europe. It is a wonderful community where talented modelers exchange ideas, show their work and generously share their creations with fellow enthusiasts.

What makes this collection particularly interesting is that it goes beyond paper modeling. It is also a fascinating journey through the history of solar-powered vehicles, from early experimental machines to sophisticated racing prototypes designed to travel long distances using sunlight as their main source of energy.

If you enjoy unusual vehicles, engineering, renewable energy or simply papercrafts that are a little different from the ordinary, I highly recommend exploring Keroliver's collection. There is plenty to discover, and you might find yourself spending much more time browsing the thread than you originally planned.

Como já faz bastante tempo, achei que seria uma boa oportunidade para revisitar esse projeto notável, especialmente para os leitores que não tiveram a chance de conhecê-lo na primeira publicação.

GTA V - Ammu-Nation Gun Shop & Outdoor Shooting Range Papercraft More Work In Progress

Continuing the work of rebuilding and updating my old Ammu-Nation Gun Shop papercraft, inspired by GTA V and originally published here at Papermau in 2015, today I am sharing some new images showing the latest progress on the project.

As I explained in previous posts, the original idea was simply to improve the textures of the old Ammu-Nation, preserving the shape and characteristics of the original building while adding more definition, brighter colors and a few details that were missing from the first version.

But, as often happens with my projects, one idea led to another, and the whole thing started growing.

First came the rebuilt store, then the parking lot with its markings, including accessible parking spaces and a special spot reserved for the boss. Finally, I came up with the idea of creating a small outdoor shooting range that could be used alongside the Ammu-Nation.

And that is exactly what you can see in greater detail in today's images.

The shooting range includes wooden shooting benches, ammunition boxes, wooden crates, safety barriers, different types of targets and a large backstop with a heavily weathered appearance. I wanted the whole place to look well used, with aged textures, dirt, rust and small details that help create a more convincing atmosphere.

One important thing I would like to clarify is that this outdoor shooting range does not exist in GTA V. It is an original creation of mine, designed especially for this project, although I tried to make it visually compatible with the Ammu-Nation and the general atmosphere of the game.

In fact, what started as a simple addition has practically become a completely separate papercraft model.

And that is one of the things I like most about this project: its versatility.

Although it was designed to accompany the Ammu-Nation, the shooting range can be built and used independently. It can work as a small standalone diorama, a backdrop for miniature photography, part of a playset or an addition to other paper models.

It could also be combined with military buildings, garages, warehouses, urban scenery or practically any other setting where an installation of this kind would make sense.

Another interesting possibility is resizing the model. Since the shooting range is not tied to a specific real-world location or a mandatory scale, the templates can be enlarged or reduced to suit different collections and projects. For example, it could be adapted for the classic 33 mm Green Army Men figures or enlarged to serve as a playset or action figure backdrop for the famous 3.75-inch G.I. Joe figures and other toys of similar size.

Of course, a larger version would require more printing space and probably some adjustments during assembly, but I believe the relatively simple shapes of the structures and accessories make this a very interesting possibility.

As you can see in the new images, the shooting range fits alongside the store and its parking lot, forming a larger diorama without necessarily depending on those other elements to work.

As for the templates, all the shooting range pieces currently fit on three printed sheets. In the image below you can see a preview of those pages, including the different elements that make up the scenery.

I still have not decided whether the project is really finished or whether I will add a few more items before making it available. Every time I spend a little while looking at the model, I end up imagining something else that could be added or improved.

For now, I am continuing to work on the details and make the necessary adjustments so that everything works properly when printed and assembled.
