1950`s Lockheed F-94 Starfire Vintage Paper Model - by Kellogs

This easy-to-assemble paper model of the Lockheed F-94 Starfire fighter was originally distributed by Kellogs in their cereal packages during the 1950s.

The Lockheed F-94 Starfire was a first-generation jet powered all-weather, day/night interceptor of the United States Air Force.

A twin-seat craft, it was developed from the Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star trainer in the late 1940s. It reached operational service in May 1950 with Air Defense Command, replacing the piston-engined North American F-82 Twin Mustang in the all-weather interceptor role.

The F-94 was the first operational USAF fighter equipped with an afterburner, and first jet-powered all-weather fighter to enter combat during the Korean War in January 1953. It had a relatively brief operational life, being replaced in the mid-1950s by the Northrop F-89 Scorpion and North American F-86D Sabre. The last aircraft left active-duty service in 1958 and Air National Guard service in 1959.

I have this model saved on my HD for a long time and I decided to share it here on the blog. Anyone interested in downloading it can do so easily and safely, directly from Google Drive.

WW2`s Russian PPSH-41 Submachine Gun Paper Model In 1/1 Scale
by Shikisha

This very well done paper model in 1/1 scale of the Russian PPSH-41 Submachine Gun was created by Japanese designer Shikisha. The PPSh-41 is a Soviet submachine gun designed by Georgi Shpagin as a cheap, simplified alternative to the PPD-40. Common nicknames are "pe-pe-sha" from its three-letter prefix and "papasha", meaning "daddy". The PPSh saw extensive combat use during World War II and the Korean War. It was one of the major infantry weapons of the Soviet Armed Forces during World War II. Around six million PPSh-41s were manufactured. In the form of the Chinese Type 50 (a licensed copy), it was still being used by Vietnamese Viet Cong as late as 1970. According to the 2002 edition of the Encyclopedia of Weapons of World War II the PPSh was still in use with irregular military forces.

The Real Thing
The Douglas F3D Skyknight was the first jet that was designed as a nightfighter. It was successfully flown in combat in the Korea war. After serving mostly as a trainer for radar operators, it was used again during the Vietnam war as an ECM-aircraft. An electronic countermeasure (ECM) is an electrical or electronic device designed to trick or deceive radar, sonar or other detection systems, like infrared (IR) or lasers. - Stahlhart
