Japanese Kitsune Fox Masks Papercraft Collection - by Ten via Pepakura Designer

In Japanese tradition, few figures carry as much cultural significance as the fox masks, or kitsune. 

This special set features three variations of these masks, all inspired by the fox, but each with its own unique design and personality. 

They are offered for free by the talented artist “Ten” in the official gallery of the Pepakura Designer software. 

In Japanese culture, the fox is a mystical creature closely connected to the goddess Inari and considered a spiritual guardian that can both protect and play tricks, depending on the legend. 

Kitsune masks are widely used in traditional festivals, ceremonies, and theatrical performances, and each variation can represent different facets of this enchanted being, ranging from elegance and mystery to mischief and power. 

The paper models are made in full scale (1/1 scale), allowing them to be used as functional masks or striking decorative pieces. 

The .pdo format, available on the Tamasoft website, lets you view the design in 3D and simplifies the assembly process, ideal for modelers who appreciate the art of paper combined with Japanese culture. 

Printed on heavier paper, the models become sturdy and faithful to the traditional spirit of these masks.

Este conjunto especial apresenta três variações dessas máscaras, todas inspiradas na raposa, mas cada uma com seu design e personalidade únicos. 

Elas são oferecidas gratuitamente pelo talentoso artista “Ten”, na galeria oficial do software Pepakura Designer. 

Na cultura japonesa, a raposa é uma criatura mística, estreitamente ligada à deusa Inari e considerada uma guardiã espiritual que pode tanto proteger quanto pregar peças, dependendo da lenda.

Trilobite - An Easy-To-Build Papercraft Of An Ancient Sea Dweller by Paper Model Studio

Taking up only a single printed sheet,and an additional one if you wish to print the display stand,here is a realistic Trilobite papercraft.

If you plan to use it for school projects, below are some basic facts that might help you. 

Trilobites were marine arthropods that lived between 521 and 252 million years ago, during the Paleozoic Era. 

They are known for their segmented exoskeletons and remarkable diversity, with over 20,000 described species. They were exclusively marine, inhabiting the ocean floor or swimming near the seabed. 

Their diet varied by species: some were detritivores, feeding on organic matter from the seafloor, others were predators of small animals, and some even filtered particles from the water. 

Many walked over sediments using their jointed legs, while some swam propelled by their appendages. 

They dominated the seas for nearly 300 million years but disappeared during the great Permian extinction. 

The most common trilobite size was around 10 cm, a measurement used by Mr. Kushima as the basis for this papercraft. 

However, there were variations: some species were less than 1 cm, while others, like Isotelus rex, reached an impressive 70 cm. 

Trilobites had compound eyes made of calcite, a mineral, making them one of the first animals to develop sophisticated vision. 

Like modern crabs and lobsters, they shed their exoskeletons to grow, leaving behind well-preserved fossils of these molts. 

Additionally, some species developed a fascinating defense mechanism: they curled up like a pill bug to protect themselves from predators, one of the earliest examples of this behavior in nature.

The Cassis - A Roman Centurion Helmet Paper Model - by Choges

This beautiful papercraft of a Cassis, the helmet used by Roman Centurions, was created in 3D by designer Scarabay and transformed into a papercraft by Russian designer and modeler Choges. 

To view and print the pyramid you will need the Pepakura Viewer Free Version. 

When the file opens, you will be asked for a password. Just ignore it and click on the "open with Pepakura Viewer" option that appears just below the password space.

And if you plan to use this model for school projects or if you’re curious like me and enjoy learning something new, I did a little research (below) with some information that might be useful. 

The Roman helmets with red crests, known as galeas or cassis, were primarily characteristic of centurions and officers in the Roman army, serving both for protection and hierarchical identification. 

These helmets appeared around the 1st century BCE and were widely used until the end of the Roman Empire, around the 5th century CE. 

The helmets were made of bronze or iron, depending on the period and resource availability, and generally weighed between 1.5 to 2 kg. They featured cheek guards and a rear brim to protect the neck. 

The red crest, made of horsehair or plant fibers, was positioned either crosswise or lengthwise, depending on the soldier’s rank, making identification easier in the midst of battle. Besides protection, helmets with crests granted greater authority and visibility to the officers. 

Among Roman soldiers, the term cassis was more widely used, especially in the military context. In Latin, cassis specifically referred to the metal combat helmet made of bronze or iron and was the technical term for the military helmet. 

On the other hand, galea was also used but had a broader meaning. Originally, galea referred to helmets made from lighter materials, like leather, which were common in early Rome. 

As the army evolved and began using metal helmets, cassis became the more precise term to refer to the helmet used by soldiers in combat.

E se você pretende usar este modelo em trabalhos escolares ou se você é curioso como eu e gosta de aprender algo novo, fiz uma pequena pesquisa (abaixo) com alguns dados que podem ser úteis. 

Os elmos romanos com penacho vermelho, conhecidos como galeas ou cassis, eram característicos principalmente de centuriões e oficiais do exército romano, e serviam tanto para proteção quanto para identificação hierárquica. 

Estes elmos apareceram por volta do século I a.C. e foram amplamente usados até o final do Império Romano, por volta do século V d.C. 

Os elmos eram feitos de bronze ou ferro, dependendo do período e da disponibilidade de recursos, e geralmente pesavam entre 1,5 a 2 kg. Eles possuíam proteção para as bochechas e uma aba na parte de trás para proteger a nuca. 

O penacho vermelho, feito de crina de cavalo ou fibras vegetais, era colocado em posição transversal ou longitudinal, dependendo do posto do soldado, facilitando a identificação em meio à batalha. Além de proteção, os elmos com penachos conferiam maior autoridade e visibilidade aos oficiais. 

Entre os soldados romanos, o termo mais amplamente usado era cassis, especialmente no contexto militar. No latim, cassis referia-se especificamente ao capacete metálico de combate, feito de bronze ou ferro, e era o termo técnico para o elmo militar. 

Por outro lado, galea também era usado, mas era mais amplo e genérico. Originalmente, galea designava capacetes feitos de materiais mais leves, como couro, que eram comuns nos primórdios de Roma. 

À medida que o exército evoluiu e passou a usar capacetes metálicos, cassis tornou-se o termo mais preciso para referir-se ao elmo usado por soldados em combate.

Classic G-Shock Watch Papercraft In 1/1 Scale - by Casio Japan

Here are two 1/1 scale (life-size) papercrafts of the famous G-Shock watches offered by Casio Japan's official website. 

The models, one of the G-Shock 5600 and another of the G-Shock 6900, can be assembled in real scale when printed on A4 paper (standard in Japan and Brazil). I believe that the Letter size (American standard), being almost the same size as A4, will have the same effect. 

Casio's G-Shock watches are known for their extreme durability and resistance. Created in 1983, they were designed to withstand mechanical shocks and intense vibrations, making them ideal for sports and outdoor activities. 

Combining functionality and robust design, G-Shocks stand out for their advanced technology and unique aesthetics. 

The first G-Shock was created with the goal of surviving a 10-meter drop, withstanding water pressure up to 10 bars (approximately 100 meters deep), and having a battery life of 10 years. This concept was called the "Triple 10." 

One of the most iconic tests to demonstrate G-Shock's durability was conducted by the inventor, Kikuo Ibe. 

He threw G-Shock prototypes out of the bathroom window of Casio's building to test their durability. 

Later, he subjected the watches to even more extreme tests, such as being run over by a truck and frozen in a block of ice. 

Due to their durability and features, such as stopwatch, altimeter, compass, and shock resistance, G-Shock watches are popular among military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and extreme sports enthusiasts. 

Many models are specifically designed to meet the needs of these users in extreme situations. The name "G-Shock" means "Gravitational Shock." 

It was chosen to emphasize the watches' ability to withstand extreme shocks and impacts, including drops and intense vibrations, which are influenced by gravitational forces. 

Thus, "G-Shock" represents the durability and resistance of Casio watches against adverse conditions and harsh environments.

Aqui estão dois papercrafts na escala 1/1 (tamanho real) dos famosos relógios G-Shock oferecidos pelo site oficial da Casio do Japão. 

Os modelos, um do G-Shock 5600 e outro do G-Shock 6900, podem ser montados na escala real quando impressos em folhas de papel no formato A4 (padrão do Japão e do Brasil). Creio que o formato Carta (padrão americano), por ser quase o mesmo tamanho do A4, o efeito seja o mesmo.

The Apple Watch is a smartwatch developed by Apple, combining the functionalities of a traditional watch with advanced health, fitness, communication, and connectivity features with other Apple devices. 

First launched in 2015, the Apple Watch has constantly evolved, offering physical activity monitoring, notifications, calls, messages, and a variety of applications directly on the user's wrist. 

The Apple Watch Series 4 was the first wrist device to offer an electrocardiogram (ECG) approved by the FDA (the United States federal agency responsible for the regulation and supervision of food, drugs, medical devices, biological products, cosmetics, tobacco products, and other products related to public health). 

With this, users can monitor their heart rhythm and detect irregularities such as atrial fibrillation.
