Tango no Sekku - Boys` Day Decorative Diorama Pop-Up Paper Model
by Minya & Aya Honda

On May 5, Japanese people celebrate the health and happiness for boys. It’s known as “Tango no Sekku” or “Kodomo no Hi”(Children’s Day). It’s now a part of Golden Week of Japan.

Different from Hinamatsuri (Girls` Day) when dolls called “Hinaningyo” are decorated at home, on this day the families with boys decorate the houses with the armor, helmet, sword or warrior doll called “Gogatsu Ningyo”(May dolls) at house with boys.

This easy-to-build pop-up paper model created by Japanese designers Minya and Aya Honda occupies six printed sheets and reproduces this cute Japanese decor.
