East Bohemian Fortress - A Vintage Paper Model - by ABC Magazine

Offered ABC Magazine, from Czechoslovakia, here is a beautiful and rare paper model of an East Bohemian Fortress, originally published between the 1930s and 1940s. The fortress is equipped with miniature cannons and there is also a military garrison on the alert. This paper model is from a publisher whose name has been lost in time and its symbol was a blue rooster in a circle. This publisher was based in Eastern Bohemia, probably between the 1930s and 1940s. Each model launched had its own number and the last known set had the number 99. Most models featured figures of soldiers and models of buildings. Other themes included figures of firefighters, falcons, knights, animals, dolls, as well as figures from famous fairy tales and nativity scenes. The models that featured technologies are unique. For example, the model of an airship (zeppelin) launched by this publisher is an absolute rarity in the Czech Republic at the moment.

The Czech magazine ABC has published paper models since the mid-1960s and is one of the main responsible for the development of the hobby of paper modeling before the advent of the internet. With the brilliant and tireless work of the Czech architect and creator of paper models Richard Vyškovský (13 July 1929 - 1 August 2019), the magazine launched all kinds of paper models by European artists. We will talk more about Mr Vyškovský in an upcoming post.

Oferecido pela ABC Magazine da Tchecoslováquia, eis aqui um belo e raro modelo de papel de uma Fortaleza da Boêmia Oriental, originalmente publicado entre as décadas de 1930 e 1940. A fortaleza está equipada com canhões em miniatura e também há uma guarnição militar em alerta. Este modelo de papel é de uma editora cujo nome se perdeu no tempo e seu símbolo era um galo azul em um círculo. Essa editora era baseada na Boêmia Oriental, provavelmente entre as décadas de 1930 e 1940. Cada modelo lançado tinha seu próprio número e o último conjunto conhecido tinha o número 99. A maioria dos modelos apresentava figuras de soldados e modelos de edifícios. Outros temas incluíam figuras de bombeiros, falcões, cavaleiros , animais, bonecas, além de figuras de famosos contos de fadas e presépios. Os modelos que apresentavam tecnologias são únicos. Por exemplo, o modelo de um dirigível lançado por essa editora é uma raridade absoluta na República Tcheca no momento.

A revista tcheca ABC publica modelos de papel desde a metade da década de 1960 e é uma das maiores responsáveis pelo desenvolvimento do hobby do papelmodelismo antes do advento da internet. Com o brilhante e incansável trabalho do arquiteto tcheco e criador de modelos de papel Richard Vyškovský (13 de julho de 1929 - 1 de agosto de 2019), a revista lançou todo o tipo de modelos de papel de artistas europeus.
