Halloween Special - Lumia - The Friendly Ghost Paper Toy - by Salazad

Occupying just a single sheet of paper, this paper toy of a friendly little ghost named Lumia was created by Indonesian designer and modeler Faisal Azad, also known as Salazad. 

There are many other paper toys on Salazad’s website, as you can see in the third image of this post. 

About Lumia, Salazad said: – "The night is dark, the moon is full, and the wind is howling. It’s Halloween, and the streets are filled with ghosts, goblins, and witches. But there’s one creature who is more terrifying than all the others: Lumia, the ghost boy. 

Lumia is a mischievous little boy who loves to scare his friends. He’s wearing a white ghost costume, and his face is covered in white makeup. He has big black eyes and a wide grin. He’s armed with a bag of candy and a mischievous glint in his eye. 

Lumia sneaks up behind his friends and lets out a loud BOO! His friends jump in surprise and turn to see Lumia standing there, grinning. Lumia laughs and runs away, leaving his friends shaken but amused. 

Lumia spends the rest of the night scaring his friends. He hides behind corners and pops out, jumps out from behind bushes, and even whispers in their ears. His friends are all scared, but they also can’t help but laugh at his antics. 

Lumia is having a great time scaring his friends. He loves the look of fear on their faces and the way they jump in surprise. He knows that he has the best Halloween costume of all. So beware, all you trick-or-treaters, for Lumia the ghost boy is on the loose. And he’s looking for his next victim."

Ocupando apenas uma folha de papel, este paper toy de um simpático fantasminha chamado Lumia foi criado pelo designer e modelista indonésio Faisal Azad, também conhecido como Salazad.

À respeito de Lumia, Salazad disse: - "A noite está escura, a lua cheia e o vento uiva. É Halloween, e as ruas estão cheias de fantasmas, duendes e bruxas. Mas há uma criatura mais aterrorizante do que todas as outras: Lumia, o menino fantasma. 

Lumia é um garotinho travesso que adora assustar os amigos. Ele veste uma fantasia de fantasma branca, e seu rosto está coberto de maquiagem branca. Tem grandes olhos negros e um largo sorriso. Está armado com uma sacola de doces e um brilho maroto no olhar. 

Lumia se aproxima sorrateiro por trás dos amigos e solta um alto BUU! Seus amigos pulam de susto e se viram para ver Lumia parado ali, sorrindo. Lumia ri e sai correndo, deixando os amigos assustados, mas também divertidos. 

Lumia passa o resto da noite assustando os amigos. Ele se esconde atrás das esquinas e aparece de repente, salta de trás dos arbustos e até sussurra em seus ouvidos. Seus amigos ficam todos assustados, mas não conseguem deixar de rir de suas travessuras.

Carburetor King Auto Service Papercraft In 1/64 Scale - by PapermauDownload Now!

Here is the complete set of templates for the Carburetor King Auto Service, ready for download. 

When I first posted the preview images, you could already see the idea: to recreate a small nostalgic roadside garage or service station from the 1960s and 70s, with vintage gas pumps, metal signs, posters, and even an icebox by the door - all in 1/64 scale, perfectly compatible with Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, GreenLight, Majorette, and similar die-cast cars. 

The goal is to evoke that kind of establishment that stayed open day and night, offering oil changes, repair services, and towing - once a very common sight along the highways of the past. 

The textures were designed to convey wear and the passage of time: stained bricks, weathered wood, faded lettering - everything to reinforce the realistic atmosphere of the diorama. 

The build shown in some of the photos already includes integrated lighting made with rice-grain LEDs, powered by repurposing an old phone charger. The USB output allows you to plug it into a wall adapter or directly into a computer port. 

By a happy accident, I ended up using yellow LEDs instead of white ones, but the result turned out to be quite nice - the warm glow mimics the old incandescent bulbs, creating an atmosphere that perfectly fits the era, when LEDs didn’t exist yet and fluorescent lights were still rare and expensive. 

This model is as functional as it is decorative: besides its nostalgic look, it can also serve as a display piece with lighting. 

I’ve also left room for customization - you can add a wooden base, artificial grass, extra accessories, or even insert your own name on the signs (blank plates are included for that), adapting it to your own style.

Quando publiquei as primeiras imagens vocês viram a proposta: recriar uma pequena oficina ou posto de estrada nostálgico, nos moldes dos anos 60 e 70, com bombas de gasolina antigas, placas metálicas, cartazes e até uma caixa de gelo à porta, tudo isso em escala 1/64, compatível com Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, GreenLight, Majorette e similares. 

A ideia é evocar aquele tipo de estabelecimento que funcionava dia e noite, oferecendo troca de óleo, serviços de reparo e guincho, tão comuns nas estradas de antigamente. 

As texturas foram pensadas para transmitir desgaste e passagem de tempo: tijolos manchados, madeira gasta, letreiros desbotados - tudo para reforçar a atmosfera realista do diorama. 

A montagem que aparece em algumas das fotos já traz uma integração com iluminação feita com LEDs tipo grão-de-arroz, reaproveitando um carregador de celular antigo, cuja saída por USB permite ligar no adaptador de tomada ou diretamente em uma porta de computador. 

Por um feliz engano, usei LEDs de tom amarelo em vez de branco, mas o resultado ficou muito interessante - a luz remeteu às velhas lâmpadas incandescentes, criando uma atmosfera quente e bastante adequada ao clima da época em que LEDs ainda não existiam e lâmpadas fluorescentes eram raras e caras. 

Este modelo é tão funcional quanto visual: além do apelo decorativo, pode ser usado como peça de exibição iluminada. 

Deixei ainda espaço para personalização - você pode usar base de madeira, grama sintética, acessórios extras, inserir seu próprio nome nos letreiros (há placas em branco para isso) e adaptar conforme seu estilo.

Seasonal Papercrafts From Japan - Stag And Atlas Beetles by Yamaha Motor

On the official global website of Yamaha Motor there is a special section called Entertainment Land, where visitors can download a wide variety of free papercrafts. 

Among the collections is The Seasons, a series of models that highlight different times of the year with traditional Japanese celebrations, everyday objects, and elements of nature. 

In Season 7, the focus is on insects, with papercraft models of beetles that can be printed and assembled at home. 

Each download includes PDF sheets and step-by-step illustrated instructions, making them easy to build for both beginners and anyone who enjoys papercraft as a hobby. 

Each beetle model fits on a single printed sheet, and when assembled on A4 or Letter size paper, they reach approximately the same size as the real insects. 

The choice of insects is very representative of Japanese culture. Beetles such as the stag beetle and the atlas beetle are popular, especially among children, who often keep them as pets. 

Their imposing shapes and striking details make them perfect subjects for papercraft models, turning them into fun and detailed paper miniatures. 

For those who want to use these papercrafts in school projects, it may be interesting to add some information about the animals themselves.

Halloween Special - Easy-To-Build Witch Papercraft For Kids by Krokotak

On the Russian educational website Krokotak there is a wide variety of art projects and paper activities aimed at children, but accessible to people all over the world. 

The difference is that all publications are made in a visual way: there are no explanatory texts, only many step-by-step images, which makes each project easy to understand and assemble even without knowing the language.

Carburetor King Garage Papercraft In 1/64 Scale - by Papermau Download Saturday!

I am finishing the organization of the templates and, if everything goes well, next Saturday I will publish the diorama Carburetor King Auto Service. 

The car shown parked is a standard Hot Wheels, model 64 Chevy Nova Wagon, from the WH Wagons series released in 2012. 

As I mentioned in the previous post, this garage follows the same style as Fante’s Garage, published here on the blog earlier this month, but with that nostalgic atmosphere of the roadside workshops and gas stations from the 60s and 70s. 

It is a small tribute to a time when cars had more personality, and service stations were part of the road trip experience itself. 

In the build shown in the photos, I added LED rice-grain lighting, reusing an old cell phone charger. The output is USB, which allows it to be connected either to a wall adapter or directly to a computer port. 

For now, just a few images. See you Saturday.

Estou finalizando a organização dos templates e, se tudo correr bem, no próximo sábado publicarei o diorama Carburetor King Auto Service. 

O carro que aparece "estacionado" é um Hot Wheels padrão, modelo 64 Chevy Nova Wagon, da série WH Wagons, lançada em 2012. 

Como já comentei no post anterior, Esta garagem segue o mesmo estilo da Fante’s Garage, publicada aqui no blog no início deste mês, mas com aquela atmosfera nostálgica das oficinas e postos de beira de estrada dos anos 60 e 70. 

É uma pequena homenagem a uma época em que os carros tinham mais personalidade e os postos de serviço faziam parte da própria experiência de viajar. 

Na montagem que aparece nas fotos, adicionei iluminação de LED tipo grão de arroz, aproveitando um carregador de celular antigo. A saída é via USB, o que permite ligar tanto em um adaptador de tomada quanto diretamente na porta de um computador. 

Por enquanto, ficam apenas algumas imagens. Até sábado.
