Paper Taxidermist - Origami Trophies Decorative Papercrafts by Madame Citron

H.H. Holmes Murder Castle Paper Model - by Haunted Dimensions

North American designer Ray Keim, from Haunted Dimensions website, designed this nice papercraft of the H.H. Holmes Murder Castle for a special event at an exhibition called "Barbe à Papa” at the Capc, Musée d'art Contemporain in Bordeaux, France (April 22, 2023). 

It was created in collaboration with artist Cécile di Giovanni and the museum’s curator, Cédric Fauq. 

The event was called "Holmes Castle Fan Fest", where Mr. Keim unveiled the model and participated in a model building workshop. 

About this model, Mr. Keim said: - "H.H. Holmes built a hotel, later dubbed the "Murder Castle" in Chicago during the 1893 World's Fair.

Stories and legends claim that the “Castle” had secret rooms, trapdoors, and other sinister features which he used to murder and dispose of “guests” staying at his “hotel”. 

He was eventually convicted of ONE murder and executed in 1896. The model is based on two photographs of the Castle as it looked around the time of Holmes’ capture."

O designer norte-americano Ray Keim, do site Haunted Dimensions, desenhou este lindo papercraft do H.H. Holmes Murder Castle para um evento especial em uma exposição chamada "Barbe à Papa” no Capc, Musée d'art Contemporain em Bordeaux, França (22 de abril de 2023). 

Foi criado em colaboração com a artista Cécile di Giovanni e o curador do museu, Cédric Fauq. 

O evento foi denominado "Holmes Castle Fan Fest", onde o Sr. Keim revelou a maquete e participou de uma oficina de construção de maquete. 

Sobre este modelo, o Sr. Keim disse: - "H.H. Holmes construiu um hotel, mais tarde apelidado de" Castelo do Assassinato "em Chicago durante a Feira Mundial de 1893. 

Histórias e lendas afirmam que o “Castelo” tinha salas secretas, alçapões e outros sinistros características que ele usou para assassinar e descartar “hóspedes” hospedados em seu “hotel”. Ele acabou sendo condenado por UM assassinato e executado em 1896. 

O modelo é baseado em duas fotografias do castelo na época da captura de Holmes."

The Great Animal Balance Challenge Paper Toys - by The Toy Maker

Marilyn Scott Waters is a British designer, writer and author of a really nice paper toy craft book series called "The Toymaker". 

About these paper toys in particular, she said: - "Blue Cockatoo has challenged the snake and berry mouse to a balancing contest. 

Print out these easy to make paper animals and have your own competition."

Shimonoseki City Telephony Division Office Paper Model In 1/300 Scale by Hazel Atsuo

Occupying two printed sheets, this 1/300 scale paper model of the former Shimonoseki City Telephone Division building was created by Japanese designer and model maker Hazel Atsuo in the distant year 2001 on a website dedicated to the preservation of this ancient building. 

Unfortunately the website is no longer active, but as I have the templates saved on my HD, I decided to share it here on the blog. 

Built in 1923, the building is located in the Karato area, in the historic center of Shimonoseki. In 1999, it was saved from demolition due to a citizens' preservation movement, which managed to preserve it. Currently, the Shimonoseki Municipal Board of Education is considering how to use it in the future. 

The city of Shimonoseki is located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. As of 2023, the city has an estimated population of 248,193 in 128,762 households and a population density of 350 people per km2. 

The total area of the city is 716.18 square kilometers. It is the largest city in Yamaguchi Prefecture and the fifth largest city in the Chūgoku region in terms of population.

It is nicknamed "Fugu Capital (pufferfish in Japanese)" because it is the largest fishing city distributing this species of fish in Japan.

Ocupando duas folhas impressas, este modelo de papel na escala 1/300 do antigo prédio da Divisão de Telefonia da Cidade de Shimonoseki foi criado pela designer e modelista japonesa Hazel Atsuo no longinquo ano de 2001 em um website dedicado a preservação deste antigo prédio. 

Infelizmente o website não está mais ativo, mas como eu tenho os templates salvos em meu HD, resolvi compartilhá-lo aqui no blog. 

Construído em 1923, o prédio fica localizado na área de Karato, no centro histórico de Shimonoseki. Em 1999, foi salvo da demolição devido a um movimento de preservação dos cidadãos, que conseguiu assim, preservá-lo. Atualmente, o Conselho Municipal de Educação de Shimonoseki está considerando como usá-lo no futuro.

É apelidada de "Capital Fugu (baiacu em japonês)" por ser a maior cidade pesqueira distribuidora dessa espécie de peixe do Japão.
