Paper Model History Meets Halloween Special - 1953`s Betsy MacCall`s Dress Up Paper Dolls

Betsy McCall dress up paper dolls were announced in April of 1951 and first appeared on the pages of McCall's magazine in May, 1951. McCall's was a monthly American women's magazine, published by the McCall Corporation, that enjoyed great popularity through much of the 20th century, peaking at a readership of 8.4 million in the early 1960s. It was established as a small-format magazine called The Queen in 1873. In 1897 it was renamed "McCall's Magazine — The Queen of Fashion" (later shortened to McCall's) and subsequently grew in size to become a large-format glossy. Starting in May 1951, and lasting until at least 1995, Betsy McCall paper dolls were printed in most issues. Children could cut out the printed dolls and clothing, or for a small fee (10¢ in 1957, 25¢ in 1967) paper dolls printed on cardboard could be ordered. Betsy McCall became so popular that various sized vinyl dolls were produced by Ideal and American Character Dolls.

As "bonecas de vestir", ou "dress up dolls" Betsy McCall foram anunciadas em abril de 1951 e apareceram pela primeira vez nas páginas da revista McCall em maio de 1951. A McCall's era uma revista mensal feminina americana, publicada pela Corporação McCall, que gozava de grande popularidade durante a maior parte do século 20, com uma média de 8,4 milhões de leitoras no início dos anos 1960. Foi criada como uma revista em formato pequeno chamada The Queen, em 1873. Em 1897, foi renomeada para "McCall's Magazine - A Rainha da Moda" (mais tarde encurtada para McCall) e, posteriormente, cresceu em tamanho para se tornar uma revista de grande formato. Here is the eighth character (and first of 2018) of my Halloween paper toy series: this is Little Dracula, a friendly vampire who feeds only red fruit juices. You will find Little Dracula in colored and a black & white versions. 

Now he will join the other friends of this series: Jack-O'-Lantern, the Little Skeleton, the Little Demon, the Little Undead and the Little Undead "Millionaire", Captain Fishbone, the Pirate and Calico Jack, the Buccaneer. Have fun!

Aqui está o oitavo personagem (e o primeiro de 2018) da minha série de paper toys de Dia das Bruxas: este é o Pequeno Drácula, um amistoso vampiro que se alimenta apenas de sucos de frutas vermelhas. "Você encontrará o Pequeno Drácula em versões colorida e em preto e branco. 

Agora ele irá juntar-se aos outros amigos desta série: o Cabeça-de-Abóbora, o Esqueletinho, o Pequeno Demônio, o Pequeno Morto-Vivo e o Pequeno Morto-Vivo "Milionário", Capitão Espinha-de-Peixe, o Pirata e Calico Jack, o Bucaneiro. Boa montagem!

Team Fortress 2 - Pyro - The Insane Pyromaniac Paper Modelby Avrin-ART

From the first person multiplayer shooter "Team Fortress 2", here is a perfect paper model version of Pyro, the Insane Pyromaniac, created by British designer and modeler Chris, aka Avrin-ART. Pyro is composed of 259 pieces distributed in 27 sheets of paper and when assembled, measures 40 cms in height. You will find the model in two formats: PDF and PDO (Pepakura), so you can print the model with the PDF format and use the PDO format as guide, because it can be visualized in 3D. If you don`t have Pepakura Viewer Free Version yet, the link to download is at the end of this post.
