The real ( plural, reais) is the present-day currency of Brazil. Its sign is R$ and its ISO code is BRL. It is subdivided into 100 centavos ("hundredths"). The modern real was introduced in 1994 as part of the Plano Real, a substantial monetary reform package that aimed to put an end to three decades of rampant inflation. At the time it was meant to have approximately fixed 1:1 exchange rate with the United States dollar. It suffered a sudden devaluation to a rate of about 2:1 in 1999, reached almost 4:1 in 2002, then partly recovered and has been approximately 2:1 since 2006. The exchange rate as of January 22, 2012 is BRL 1.75 to USD 1.00. In Portuguese the word real means both "royal" and "real". The name of the historic real derived from the first sense. This peculiar little dude is a paper toy for children - and a great example of vintage advertising. "Le Pere Savon" is built of cubes of soap with "72%" embossed on them, indicating a composition of 72% olive oil - which is typical of the French soap savon de Marseille. I believe he is blowing a bubble out of a pipe. "Le Pere Savon" was later rebranded "Persavon," and I don't find any recent examples of this character in advertising. But you can still build your own personal creepy soap-man using this pattern from Agence Eureka. They've helpfully split the full-size original pattern pieces onto A4 size sheets, so you can print them off on a typical home printer. - original text by scienceblogs.com

"Le Pere Savon", ou Papai Sabão, é construído com sabonetes com "72%" estampado em cada barra de sabão, indicando a presença de 72% de azeite de oliva em sua composição - o que era típico dos sabões franceses de Marselha, na França. Eu creio que Papai Sabão está soltando uma bolha de sabão de seu cachimbo. O nome "Pere Savon" foi depois mudado para "Persavon" e eu não achei mais nenhuma referência à esse estranho homem de sabão em propagandas da marca. Mas você ainda pode montar o seu próprio Papai Sabão usando o modelo oferecido pelo site Agence Eureka. From K-On Japanese Anime, here is Akiyama Mio, one of main characters of this famous TV show.

K-On! is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga written and illustrated by Kakifly. The manga was serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara between the May 2007 and October 2010 issues. It was also serialized in Houbunsha's magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat. The manga relaunched in April 2011 with two separate storylines published in Manga Time Kirara and Manga Time Kirara Carat. A 13-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation aired in Japan between April and June 2009. An additional original video animation (OVA) episode was released in January 2010. A 26-episode second season, titled K-On!! (with two exclamation marks), aired in Japan between April and September 2010, with an OVA episode released in March 2011. An anime film adaptation has been announced and was released in Japan on December 3, 2011. The title of the series comes from the Japanese word for light music, keiongaku , which in the Japanese context is similar to pop music. - Wikipedia

K-ON! é um mangá japonês escrito e ilustrado por Kakifly. Ele começou a ser publicado na revista Manga Time Kirara na edição de maio de 2007, também começou outra serialização na revista bimestral Manga Time Kirara Carat desde outubro de 2008. Foi feita uma adaptação para anime com 13 episódios, produzidos pela Kyoto Animation exibidos no Japão entre abril e junho de 2009. Um episódio de animação adicional (OVA) foi lançado em 20 de janeiro de 2010 e seguido pela segunda temporada que levou o nome de K-ON!! e iniciou-se em 7 de Abril, terminando em 28 de setembro de 2010. Após o último episódio da segunda temporada um filme foi lançado em 3 de dezembro de 2011. O título da série vem da palavra em japonês "música leve", keiongaku (軽音楽?), uma tradução mais precisa poderia ser música contemporânea ou pop. - Wikipedia
