This is the Ferry Inn, the second building in this incredible series of architectural paper models entitled "Kellogg's UK Paper Village". Mr. Ed "ICE" Berg, from Toy Connect, is a collector of antique toys and, luckily, his interest goes beyond plastic and metal toys, including papercrafts and paper toys usually printed on breakfast cereal boxes. These paper toys were very common since the 1950s and were relatively successful until the mid-1980s, when the first video game consoles and the internet came, and children seem to have lost interest in anything that cannot be manipulated virtually on a high resolution screen.
As I said, luckily for us, old-fashioned boomers, Mr. Ice preserved the original models of this rare series of architectural papercrafts originally printed by Kellogs in the 1960s, I believe, which feature a picturesque British village.
I had already posted this series here on the blog in the distant year of 2012 and today, eight years later, I start posting them again. Papermau blog already has more than 11,300 different posts and I think it is kind of difficult to pan the entire site, so a lot of good stuff is hidden in this vast compilation. Gradually I will be reposting one thing here, another there, so that more people can get to know the work of all these people, from literally all parts of the world, who keep this archaic hobby alive.
Este é o Ferry Inn, o segundo prédio dessa incrivel série de modelos de papel arquitetônicos intitulada "Kellogg's UK Paper Village". O Sr. Ed "ICE" Berg, do site Toy Connect, é um colecionador de brinquedos antigos e, para nossa sorte, seu interesse vai além dos brinquedos de plástico e metal, incluíndo aí papercrafts e paper toys usualmente impressos em caixas de cereais matinais. Estes brinquedos de papel eram muito comuns desde a década de 1950 e fizeram relativo sucesso até meados da década de 1980, quando vieram os primeiros consoles de videogames e a internet e as crianças parecem ter perdido o interesse em qualquer coisa que não possa ser manipulada virtualmente em uma tela de alta resolução.
Como eu disse, para nossa sorte, boomers antiquados, o Sr. Ice preservou os modelos originais dessa rara série de papercrafts arquitetônicos originalmente impressos pela Kellogs na década de 1960, creio eu, que apresentam uma pitoresca vila britânica.
Eu já havia postado esssa série aqui no blog no distante ano de 2012 e hoje, oito anos depois começo a postá-las novamente. O blog Papermau já está com mais de 11.300 posts diferentes e eu creio que seja meio difícil garimpar o site todo, então muita coisa boa está escondida nesse vasto compilado. Aos poucos eu irei repostando uma coisa aqui, outra ali, para que mais pessoas possam conhecer o trabalho de toda essa gente, de literalmente todas as partes do mundo, que fazem com que esse arcaico hobby permaneça vivo.
