Italian modeler and designer Paperpino, author of this beautiful and very original paper model says: - "Petrus Plancius (Pieter Platevoet, 1552-1622) was a famous Flemish cartographer. He included new constellations in the austral celestial emisphere. In 1612, he drew 12 gores for a 14.5 cm diameter celestial globe, with eight new constellations inspired to the Bible. For the present model, the original gores published in 1649, were downloaded from the Bibliothèque nationale de France website. The colours of the original file were digitally converted in the “nocturnal” version here presented."

Ele incluiu novas constelações no Emisfério Celestial Austral. Em 1612, ele desenhou um globo celestial dividido em 12 gomos, com um diâmetro de 14,5 cm , com oito novas constelações inspirados da Bíblia. Para o presente modelo, os gomos originais publicados em 1649, foram baixadas a partir do site da Bibliothèque Nationale, da França. As cores do arquivo original foram convertidas digitalmente na versão "noturna" aqui apresentado."
