Today we return to the work of Japanese designer Tanaka Masahiko, whose creative papercrafts have already appeared here on Papermau. This time, we have a lovely little collection featuring four familiar characters from the Pokémon universe: Eevee and three of its popular evolutions, Flareon, Umbreon and Glaceon.
Eevee is one of the most recognizable Pokémon, especially because of its unusual ability to evolve into several different forms. In this collection, we have the original little brown creature with its large ears and fluffy collar, Flareon with its orange body and bushy fur, Umbreon with its elegant black appearance and yellow rings, and Glaceon with its beautiful icy-blue colors.
One interesting detail is that, according to Tanaka Masahiko, all four papercrafts share almost the same basic structure. This makes the collection particularly appealing for anyone who enjoys building several related models, since becoming familiar with the assembly of one character may help when putting together the others.
The models have that distinctive geometric appearance typical of many Japanese papercrafts, with angular surfaces that give each character a charming handmade look while preserving its recognizable features. They would look great displayed together on a shelf, a desk or as part of a small Pokémon-themed collection.
As mentioned in our previous posts featuring his work, Tanaka Masahiko uses Art of Illusion, Pepakura Designer, Inkscape and some tools developed by himself to create his paper models. His collection includes not only Pokémon but also animals, dinosaurs, anime characters and famous Japanese monsters.
All four Pokémon papercrafts are available as separate PDF files for free download on the author's page at the Japanese platform Note. If you are a Pokémon fan or simply enjoy collecting cute paper toys, these four little characters are certainly worth adding to your collection.
If you want to build your own little Pokémon collection, all four printable PDF templates are available for free on Tanaka Masahiko's page. Each character has its own download, so you can choose your favorites or collect them all. You'll find the link right below:
