Chicago Cultural Center Paper Model Build Contest - by Matt B

Matt B, designer of this really nice paper model, says: - "I designed a new paper model for an exhibit by artist Jan Tichy at the Chicago Cultural Center (called "Aroundcenter"). If you are in Chicago you can stop by the exhibit to pick up a free 1/1000 scale model of the building printed in the exhibit brochure. Or you can download two different versions of it here: Build Your Own Chicago Cultural Center. We just announced a build contest for the model. To participate, post photos of your completed model to the Build Your Own Chicago Facebook Group, or email them to me at "buildcontest@buildyourownchicago.com" and I will post them. You can build the model as-is, or customize it however you like.Winners will be chosen on April 27, 2014. The prize is a set of Build Your Own Chicago cards and other postcard paper models by Jan Tichy."

Here some more progress in the assembly of the Medieval Stand Paper Model For Mini Figures. Below you see all parts of the model, with the exception of the lateral wall.

The door consists of two sheets, each of which was laminated with paper cardboard thickness of 1.5 mm. The hinges were also rolled with the same cardstock.

During World War II, GIs decorated their barracks with morale-boosting snapshots of dazzling pin-up girls. This beautiful Dress Up paper doll is part of a very popular papercraft series of that era. The girls sent letters to the editor, I believe they were published in a Sunday supplement of a newspaper. In these letters they sent ideas of clothing for your favorite dolls. the chosen were published, with the appropriate credits to the authors. This model was designer by Stan Lee. If you don`t know, he co-created Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, X-Men, and many other fictional characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. In addition, he headed the first major successful challenge to the industry's censorship organization, the Comics Code Authority, and forced it to reform its policies. Lee subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation. I don`t remember where I take this model, I have this in my HD a very long time, so I hosted it at Google Docs for those who want to download.

Stan Lee - The Man!

Durante a Segunda Grande Guerra, os fuzileiros norte-americanos decoravam suas barracas com fotos de deslumbrantes garotas em estilo Pin Up, para, como vamos dizer, levantar o moral. Esta bela boneca de papel em estilo Dress Up, faz parte de uma série muito popular em sua época. As garotas escreviam cartas ao editor do jornal que  publicavam essa bonecas e nessa cartas enviavam idéias para novos vestidos e trajes, que seriam publicados aos domingos, com os devidos créditos às escolhidas. Esta boneca foi desenhada por Stan Lee, que para quem não sabe é o co-autor do Homem-Aranha, Hulk, Quarteto Fantástico, Homem de Ferro, Thor, X-Men, e muitos outros personagens de ficção, introduzindo, personagens de natureza complexa e um universo completamente compartilhado em histórias em quadrinhos de super-heróis. Além disso, ele foi o primeiro a desafiar a censura na indústria dos quadrinhos, o Comics Code Authority, e obrigou-a a reformar suas políticas. The Real Thing

My Polish friend, the designer and modeler Bartek "Godai" Biedrzycki created this really beautiful and very well done paper model of a real Polish tower, the Water Tower In Konstancin (since 1969 the town is called Konstancin-Jeziorna). He uses real life photo textures of the actual water tower. I liked the model so much that as soon as I received via email, I decided to print and assemble it. The result can be seen in the series of photos that illustrate this post. Godai says this water tower was built in 1899 by Edward Lilpop and it exists till this day, though it is not used as a water tower anymore. Currently it just stays closed, but in past years it used to host a restaurant. - Many thanks, Godai, for this really nice model! Greetings from Brazil to Poland!

Meu amigo polonês, o designer e modelista Bartek "Godai" Biedrzycki criou esta belo e muito bem feito modelo de papel de uma torre de água polonesa, a Torre de Água em Konstancin (desde 1969 esta cidade é chamada Konstancin-Jeziorna). Godai usou textures tiradas de fotos da construção verdadeira. Eu gostei tanto do modelo que assim que o recebi via e-mail, decidi imprimir e montá-lo. O resultado pode ser visto na série de fotos que ilustram este post. O resultado você pode ver na série de fotos que ilustram este post. Godai diz que esta torre de água foi construída em 1899 pelo engenheiro Edward Lilpop e ainda continua de pé, apesar de estar desativada. antigamente ela servia à um restaurante da cidade. - Muito obrigado, Godai, por este belo modelo!
