Magic, The Gatheing - Book Shaped Card Game Deck Box Papercraft
by Firebrand Creations
Created by designer and modeler Leo Firebrand, from Firebrand Creations website, here is a cool and unusual paper model of a Book Shaped Card Game Deck Box to your RPG and wargames acessories or just to decorate your shelf.
About this papercraft, Leo Firebrand said: "I have wanted to create a project that people could download and make themselves for a while now.
However creating the templates and instructions means you have to simplify the design significantly. I decided to do something that was not very complex and made a deck box for the card game Magic: The Gathering.
Not wanting to keep it too simple I made it look like an ancient tome. The finished product can hold 75 cards and is very solid. Make sure to read the instructions before printing.
This was a different approach for me than usual. I had to design the box so it would fit on 8.5 X 11 paper and I wanted it to use one sided printing. I went through about 5 prototypes before I found one I was happy with.
I then created the blueprints and textures for the project. This was a great deal of fun and allowed me to flex my Photoshop muscles for a change.
It's also unfortunate that most Papercraft projects have poor documentation, so I tried hard to make the instructions easy to follow. So grab the files and build yourself a new box to hold your cards for the next tournament."
Do site Firebrand Creations.

Eatcrow2 says: - "Downloaded this from "Pillpat's" site last night, and did a quick build. Printed it out on legal size card. Spray adhesive the base on some thick stock, and doubled up the figures on 65lb card. Hit it with a couple of light coats of "Future" to seal the pastel chalk touch-ups. Colors are a little faded, but still has a nice charm to it... Fun build, and thanks to Pillpat for making it available".

Antarctic Observation Ship Soya In 1/200 Scale - by Canon
The Soya is a Japanese ice-strengthened cargo ship which was built in 1938. It was originally constructed as a commercial ship, but its ice durability and sonar technology prompted the Japanese army to purchase it for use as a naval ship. Following the war it was used as a repatriation ship and a lighthouse supply ship, and from 1956 to 1962 it served as an Antarctic observation ship. After passing the Antarctic torch to its successor, the Fuji, the Soya became a patrol vessel for the Japan Coast Guard. After being decommissioned, the Soya was made a permanent exhibition in front of the Museum of Maritime Science in Tokyo and remains on display there today. This paper craft is a 1:200 scale replica of the Soya at the time of her first expedition to the Antarctic. Cooperation: Museum of Maritime Science. - Canon
The Hasegawa Soya - Glory Days - 3rd Corps Antarctica Observation Ship |
- Canon
