Well, a week today ... how many more weeks? Some local news: here in São Paulo the flu vaccination drive-thru is taking place in large open spaces, such as public parks and large parking lots. You arrive at your car with the documents in hand, you are vaccinated and go out, with as little contact as possible. The idea is good, but the vaccines run out soon and people are impatient to spend hours in a line of vehicles and have to come back another day. Alcohol Gel is not found anywhere and, as expected, there are many people taking advantage of it to earn a lot of money from it, mixing low percentage alcohol (which does not kill the virus) with hair gel and selling in 50 or 100 ml bottles for abusive prices. If here in Brazil gasoline is adulterated and cancer medicine is falsified, do you really think they would not fake alcohol gel?
Official government numbers indicate 2,201 cases of infection and 46 deaths. The roads to the North Coast are closed. I just read that several small towns in the interior of São Paulo and Brazil are in a panic, closing all access routes and preventing both the entry and exit of people. In Minas Gerais, a 38-year-old guy was caught in the act selling drugs that promised to cure COVID 19. In Rio de Janeiro, drug dealers imposed a curfew in the favelas, saying that if the government fails to maintain order, they, the traffickers will do that. This is Brazil!
I think I already said that I live in a slightly dangerous region here on the outskirts of São Paulo and, as the streets are increasingly empty, the nights are never peaceful. I have been up all night and I hope the day is light to relax and sleep. Thefts from businesses and home invasions have increased, as expected. No news.
Here at home we keep trying to stay calm. Reading, movies and series, playing with dogs, everything helps. My daughters are doing better than I expected. They are very friendly and stay up all night too. Studies continue, now online. Today I'm going to watch one or two movies with the girls (Rocky 4 and Fright Night, the 1985 original and not that crappy 2011), or maybe I'll watch The Lighthouse alone or some series (Band of Brothers, Better Call Saul) or The Witcher).

Bem, uma semana hoje...quantas semanas mais? Algumas notícias locais: aqui em São aulo está havendo o drive-thru de vacinação contra a gripe em grandes espaços abertos, como praças e grandes estacionamentos. Você chega no seu carro já com os documentos em mãos, é vacinado e vai embora, com o mínimo contato possível. A idéia é boa, mas as vacinas acabam logo e as pessoas ficam impacientes por ficar horas em uma fila de veículos e ter que voltar outro dia. Álcool em gel é coisa que não se acha em lugar nenhum e, como era de se esperar, tem muita gente aproveitando para ganhar muita grana com isso, misturando álcool de baixa porcentagem (que não mata o vírus) com gel de cabelo e vendendo em frascos de 50 ou 100 ml por preços abusivos. Se aqui no Brasil se adultera gasolina e falsificam remédio para tratamento de câncer, você acha mesmo que não iam falsificar álcool em gel?

Acabei de ler que várias cidades pequenas do interior de São Paulo e do Brasil estão em pânico, fechando todas as vias de acesso e impedindo tanto a entrada quanto a saída de pessoas. Em Minas Gerais um cara de 38 anos foi preso em flagrante vendendo medicamentos que prometiam a cura do COVID 19. No Rio de Janeiro os traficantes impuseram o toque de recolher nas favelas, dizendo que se o governo não consegue manter a ordem, eles, os traficantes, farão isso. Isso é o Brasil!
Acho que já falei que moro em uma região um pouco perigosa aqui na periferia de São Paulo e, como as ruas estão cada vez mais vazias, as noites nunca são tranquilas. Tenho ficado acordado toda a noite e espero o dia clarear para relaxar e dormir. Roubos de comércios e invasão de residências têm aumentado, como era de esperar. Nenhuma novidade.
Aqui em casa continuamos tentando manter a calma. Leitura, filmes e séries, brincar com os cães, tudo ajuda. Minhas filhas estão se saindo melhor do que eu esperava. Estão muito amigas e passam a noite toda acordadas também. Os estudos continuam, agora online. Hoje assistirei um ou dois filmes com as meninas (Rocky 4 e Fright Night, o original de 1985 e não aquela porcaria de 2011), ou talvez eu assista sozinho The Lighthouse (O Farol) ou alguma série (Band of Brothers, Better Call Saul ou The Witcher).
O importante é manter a mente ocupada, se cuidar e pensar positivo. Nos vemos amanhã. Como sempre, cuidem-se e fiquem bem!
