Trabant - East German Car - Carro da Extinta Alemanha Oriental

The Trabant is a car that was produced by former East German Auto Maker VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in Zwickau, Sachsen. It was the most common vehicle in East Germany, and was also exported to countries both inside and outside the communist bloc. The main selling points was that it had room for four adults and luggage in a compact, light and durable shell and that it was fast (when introduced) and durable.
The name, meaning satellite or companion in German, was inspired by Soviet satellite Sputnik.

O Trabant foi produzido na Alemanha Oriental pela extinta fábrica East German Auto Maker. Esse carro foi o "fusquinha" da Alemanha Oriental e exportado para os países do Bloco Comunista e para alguns vizinhos ocidentais. Os pontos altos deste carro: cabiam quatro adultos e bagagem em um modelo compacto, carroceria leve e durável e era considerado rápido para sua época.
O nome significa satélite ou companheiro, camarada, e foi inspirado no satélite russo Sputinik.
