The Toy Maker’s Halloween Paper Collection - by Marilyn Scott-Waters

The Halloween section of The Toy Maker, created by illustrator and designer Marilyn Scott-Waters, features a collection of easy-to-build papercrafts made especially for children. All models share the Halloween theme and are available as free downloads.

Haunted Dimensions - Gothic Architecture And Horror In Paper by Ray Keim

Black Cat Garage Papercraft In 1/64 Scale - by Papermau Download Next Week!

This is the Black Cat Garage, a paper diorama I created in 1/64 scale, designed especially as a display background for diecast vehicles such as Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, GreenLight, Majorette, and other brands. 

The model represents an old roadside workshop, inspired by the classic American garages along Route 66. The façade is covered with vintage advertising signs from oil, tire, and gas brands such as Texaco, Esso, Kelly Tires, and Shell. 

On the main sign, the name Black Cat Garage appears under a full moon, giving the scene a nostalgic night-time atmosphere typical of the old highways. Inside the garage, shelves are filled with tools, oil drums, and workbenches. 

Next to the entrance, details like an ice machine, an old gas pump, and a side door marked Office add depth and realism to the scene, even though the entire model is made of paper. 

The diorama was designed to fit perfectly in display cases or bases used by collectors of 1/64 scale cars. It works great for photos or small exhibitions featuring classic or custom vehicles.

Este é o Black Cat Garage, um diorama em papel criado por mim na escala 1/64, feito especialmente para servir como cenário de exibição de miniaturas de veículos como Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, GreenLight, Majorette e outras marcas. 

O modelo representa uma antiga oficina de beira de estrada, inspirada nas clássicas garagens americanas da Rota 66. A fachada é coberta por placas publicitárias retrô de marcas de óleo, pneus e gasolina, como Texaco, Esso, Kelly Tires e Shell. 

No letreiro principal, o nome Black Cat Garage aparece iluminado pela lua cheia, criando um clima noturno típico das estradas norte-americanas. O interior da garagem mostra prateleiras cheias de ferramentas, tambores de óleo e bancadas de trabalho. 

Ao lado da entrada, há detalhes como uma máquina de gelo, uma bomba de gasolina antiga e uma porta lateral com a placa Office. Todos esses elementos ajudam a dar profundidade e realismo à cena, mesmo sendo totalmente construída em papel. 

O diorama foi projetado para caber perfeitamente em vitrines ou bases usadas por colecionadores de miniaturas na escala 1/64. É ideal para compor fotografias ou pequenas exposições de carros clássicos e customizados.

Squid Game - Chibi Style Pink Soldier Papercraft - by Pluck Design

On the Playcraft blog there is a papercraft of the Pink Soldier from Squid Game, the one with the triangle mask. 

The model was created by Pluck Design, the author behind several other small and fun papercraft projects shared on the same site. 

The papercraft is offered in two formats: PNG and PDO (Pepakura). It takes up two printed sheets. You can print the PNG files to cut and build the model, and use the PDO file as a visual guide in Pepakura Designer. 

With the 3D view in Pepakura, the builder can rotate the model, check folds and connections, and see how each part fits together before gluing. 

The design keeps the main features of the Pink Soldier: the hooded jumpsuit, the simple weapon, and the triangular mask. The style is simplified and stylized, which makes the model easy to build while keeping it instantly recognizable. 

Squid Game is a South Korean series released on Netflix, where people with heavy debts compete in deadly versions of children’s games for a big cash prize. 

The pink soldiers are the masked guards who control the contestants and enforce the rules. The triangle mask indicates a middle rank, higher than the circle guards but lower than the square ones. 

This papercraft captures one of the most iconic visuals from the series in a compact, printable form, perfect for fans who enjoy combining paper modeling and pop culture.

No blog Playcraft é oferecido um papercraft do Soldado Rosa da série Squid Game, aquele com a máscara em forma de triângulo. 

O modelo foi criado por Pluck Design, autor de vários outros papercrafts simples e criativos disponíveis no mesmo site. 

O papercraft é oferecido em dois formatos: PNG e PDO (Pepakura). O modelo ocupa duas folhas impressas. É possível imprimir os arquivos PNG para recortar e montar, e usar o arquivo PDO como guia visual no Pepakura Designer. 

Com a visualização em 3D do programa, o modelista pode girar o modelo, verificar dobras e encaixes, e entender melhor como cada parte se conecta antes da montagem. 

O design mantém as principais características do Soldado Rosa: o macacão com capuz, a arma simples e a máscara triangular. O estilo é simplificado e estilizado, o que torna o modelo fácil de montar e ainda assim facilmente reconhecível. 

Squid Game é uma série sul-coreana da Netflix em que pessoas endividadas participam de versões mortais de jogos infantis para tentar ganhar um grande prêmio em dinheiro. 

Os soldados rosas são os guardas mascarados que controlam os participantes e fazem cumprir as regras. A máscara triangular indica um nível intermediário na hierarquia, acima dos guardas de círculo e abaixo dos de quadrado. 

Este papercraft traz um dos visuais mais marcantes da série em uma forma compacta e imprimível, ideal para fãs que gostam de unir cultura pop e modelismo em papel.

Houdini’s Master Mystery Robot Paper Model - by Robothut via Alphadrome

Most of you have probably heard of Harry Houdini, the legendary master of impossible escapes and one of the greatest illusionists of all time. But few know that he was also the star of a serial in the early days of cinema, back in the silent film era. 

In 1919, Houdini starred in "The Master Mystery", and it is from this classic that the curious robot inspiring a modern papercraft originates. The serial was shown in fifteen chapters, with Houdini playing Quentin Locke, a government agent investigating a conspiracy involving technological inventions. 

The highlight of the story is “Q, the Automaton,” a mechanical figure used by the villains, considered one of the first robots in film history. 

At that time, cinema was one of the most popular forms of entertainment, with affordable screenings. Many people went to the cinema several times a week to follow the adventures chapter by chapter, creating suspense and keeping audiences coming back - much like TV series do today. 

The robot papercraft was preserved and shared by Robothut, a member of the Alphadrome forum. Based on an old promotional poster for the serial, the model adapts Q’s figure for paper cutting and assembly. 

It captures the automaton’s peculiar look very well, with its metallic body and almost human appearance. Beyond being a fun assembly project, it is also a trip back in time - a playful way to honor Houdini and the birth of science fiction on screen. 

Interestingly, the Houdini Paper Robot is also considered the first mass-produced robot toy in the world. Created by S. Louis Giraud and published around 1930 by Strand Publications, it was part of a series of automatic paper toys that moved through internal strips and levers. 

Unlike later metal or wooden models, the *Houdini* was made entirely of paper and accessible to the general public, marking an important milestone in the history of toys and automata. Its simple yet ingenious mechanism reflected the creative and experimental spirit of the era. 

The name “Houdini” likely referred to the famous illusionist, highlighting the “magical” aspect of the toy, which seemed to come alive when handled. 

Today, the model is a historical rarity and one of the earliest expressions of humanity’s fascination with machines that mimic the appearance and behavior of living beings.
