The Ephemeral Museum - Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station Paper Model - Assembled by Pascal Lesage

My friend from France, Pascal Lesage, aka Paskal, built the Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station paper model and kindly sent me some photos your your really nice work. He created a lot of details, such as the grass and some clumps that were very convincing. I can only thank Paskal for the photos and for giving me the honor of being able to present his work here on the blog. I really appreciate this. I ask him to write something and you can read these words right below:

"About me ? I'm 56 years old and I have made my first paper model kit when I was 8/9 years old I remember it was a typical French house printed onto 1 sheet wich my teacher gave to me because I did good work !This is a long story : the wife's teacher worked in company called Limpidol. Limpidol was a famous French brand of glue, it no longer exists anymore. In the end of the 60's, this company created and printed a wide range of paper models to be used with their products: typical houses of the French regions, castles and even cathedrals with 30 cm high! So, our teacher got them for free from his wife, and gave them to us 1 sheet as gift after 10 good jobs. For a larger model, this costed 50... very rare... Then I have built all types of plastic models, then dioramas, I paint 28mm figures and I like to create sets with styrofoam and parts from "Hirst Arts" plaster molds, cardboard, else... Sometime I built paper models for fun and I also tried to create some models. I have no special technic exepted I use felt-tip pens to color the edges and to alter some of printed parts. Meu amigo da França, Pascal Lesage, aka Paskal, montou o modelo de papel do Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station e gentilmente enviou-me algumas fotos o seu ótimo trabalho. Ele adicionou vários detalhes, tais como a grama e algumas moitas que ficaram bem convincentes. Eu só posso agradecer ao Paskal pelas fotos e por dar-me a honra de poder apresentar seu trabalho aqui no blog. Eu realmente aprecio isso. Eu pedi a ele que escrevesse algumas palavras para a postagem e você pode lê-las logo abaixo:

"Sobre mim? Eu tenho 56 anos e montei meu primeiro modelo de papel quando eu estava com 8 ou 9 anos. Lembro-me de que era uma típica casa francesa impressa em 1 folha que o professor me deu porque fiz um bom trabalho! Essa é uma longa história: a esposa deste professor trabalhava em uma empresa francesa chamada Limpidol. Limpidol era uma famosa marca francesa de adesivos, que já não existe mais. No final dos anos 60, esta empresa criou e imprimiu uma ampla gama de modelos de papel para promover seus produtos: casas típicas das regiões francesas, castelos e até catedrais com 30 cm de altura! Então, nosso professor os obtinha gratuitamente e nos dava um modelo como presente a cada dez lições bem feitas. Para um modelo maior, o custo eram 50 lições... bem difícil... Então eu comecei a montar todos os tipos de modelos de plástico, depois dioramas, gosto de pintar figuras de 28mm e crio cenários com isopor e peças de gesso da marca "Hirst Arts", papelão e outros materiais ... eu monto modelos de papel por diversão e também tentei criar algumas coisas. Na montagem, eu não tenho nenhuma técnica especial, eu uso canetas de feltro para colorir as bordas e alterar algumas das peças impressas. About the Ephemeral Museum:

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:

Star Wars - Hand Drawn T-65 X-Wing Starfighter Paper Modelby Maquettes Hautetfort

Here is a very well done hand drawn paper model in 1/66 scale of the T-65 X-Wing Starfighter, from Star Wars universe. 

This model was created by French designer and modeler Sebastién, from Maquettes Hautetfort website and he recommends, for a better result, which print the templates on sheets of 100 grams.

Aqui está um modelo de papel muito bem feito e todo desenhado a mão na escala 1/66 da T-65 Starfighter X-Wing, do universo de Star Wars. 

Este modelo foi criado pelo designer e modelista francês Sebastién, do site Maquettes Hautetfort e ele recomenda, para um melhor resultado, que se imprima os templates em folhas de 100 gramas.
