Chinese Phoenix - Lucky Bird Paper Model - by Ikuo Anazawa

This beautiful Lucky Item, a Chinese Phoenix, was created by Japanese designer Ikuo Anazawa, comissioned by Canon website. Known in Chinese as Fenghuang, the Chinese Phoenix is a mythological bird, that is said to reign over all other winged creatures. The males are known as Feng and the females as Huang. They are said to be similar in appearance to a peacock, but are about 130~170cm tall and colored in five vibrant shades. They sing a melody that spans five different notes. The Fenghuang is said to drink from sacred springs and feed on bamboo seeds, and nest only in wu t'ung trees. In the Classic of Rites, the Fenghuang is named as one of the four holy animals of Chinese mythology, along with the unicorn Qilin, the tortoise Gui Xian, and the dragon Long. With this papercraft you can create a bright, five-colored Fenghuang in flight position. The model measures approx. 65cm in length and 60cm across.

Este belo objeto da sorte foi, uma Fênix Chinesa, foi criado pelo designer japonês Ikuo Anazawa para o site da Canon. Conhecida em chinês como Fenghuang, a Fênix Chinesa é um pássaro mitológico, que reinava sobre todas as outras criaturas aladas. Os machos são conhecidos como Feng e as fêmeas como Huang. Diz a lenda que se parece com um pavão, mede cerca de 130 a 170 centímetros de altura e cores em cinco tons vibrantes. Ela canta uma melodia que se estende por cinco notas diferentes. O Fenghuang bebe de fontes sagradas e se alimenta de sementes de bambu, e faz seu ninho apenas em árvores de wu t'ung, uma tradicional árvore chinesa. No Clássico dos Ritos, o Fenghuang é apontado como um dos quatro animais sagrados da mitologia chinesa, juntamente com o Qilin unicórnio, a tartaruga Gui Xian, e o dragão Long. Com este papercraft você pode criar um brilhante Fenghuang em cinco cores e em posição de vôo. As medidas do modelo são aprox. 65 centímetros de comprimento e 60 centímetros de diâmetro.

The Pirate Cove Now Easily Downloadable At Google Docs!

Many friends of the blog write saying they find some difficult to download my models on Rapidshare, so it's been awhile that I've been reviewing some models, passing them to PDF format (they were all in JPG or BMP format, which caused errors of scale when printing), with that, all the sheets of a model are printed on the same scale without the need for complicated settings. Today I am posting here the Pirate Cove Diorama, in PDF format and easily downloadable directly from Google Docs. Enjoy!

Muitos amigos do blog escrevem dizendo que encontram dificuldades para baixar meus modelos no Rapidshare, então já faz algum tempo que venho revisando alguns modelos, passando-os para o formato PDF (todos eles estavam em formato JPG ou BMP, o que causava erros de escala na hora de imprimir), com isso, todas as folhas de um modelo são impressas na mesma escala sem a necessidade de ajustes complicados. Hoje posto aqui o Pirate Cove Diorama, em PDF e facilmente baixável direto do Google Docs. Boa montagem!

This coll paper model version of the iconic Converse`s Chuck Taylor All Stars Shoes was created by designers from Eat Sleep Work website. Chuck Taylor All Stars, or Converse All Stars, also referred to as "Converses" "Chuck Taylors," "All Stars," "Chucks" or "Cons," are canvas and rubber shoes produced by Converse. They were first produced in 1917 as the "All Star," Converse's attempt to capture the basketball shoe market. Chuck Taylor, a basketball player and shoe salesman for Converse, improved the shoe's design and became the product's spokesperson in the 1920s.

Chuck Taylor All Stars ou Converse All Stars, também conhecido como "Connverses" "Chuck Taylors", "All Stars", "Chucks" ou "Cons", são tênis feitos de lona e borracha fabricados pela Converse. Eles foram produzidos pela primeira vez em 1917 como o "All Star", a tentativa da Converse para capturar o mercado de calçados de basquete. Chuck Taylor, um jogador de basquete e vendedor de sapatos da Converse, melhorou o design do sapato e se tornou porta-voz do produto em 1920.
