The Ephemeral Museum - Vecchio Bridge Vintage Paper Model Preserved And Shared by Esben Rasmussen - Assembled by Vincent

My friend Vincent, from Holland, sent me some pictures of a beautiful old paper model from Ponte Vecchio, preserved and kindly shared by model maker and collector Esben Rasmussen. 

About this particular model, Vincent said: "Hi Papermau Model makers, When searching through the web, I came upon a Flickr album with scans from an old Danish magazine, the “Illustreret Familie-Journal”. From the 1930’s I think. 

And in that magazine you find quite a lot of old paper models, and they are quite nice. And even better: the images are in high resolution. I decided to make the Vecchio Bridge (Ponte Vecchio) in Florence, Italy. 

It is just one sheet with pieces, and if you print it on A4-format, the model will be 16 cm long. There are no instructions with this model, but the pieces have letter codes indicating where they should be joined, and building it is rather straightforward. And the pictures will help you."

Meu amigo Vincent, da Holanda, enviou-me algumas fotos de um belo modelo de papel antigo da Ponte Vecchio, preservado e gentilmente compartilhado pelo modelista e colecionista Esben Rasmussen. 

Sobre este modelo em particular, Vincent disse: "Olá modelista do Papermau, Ao pesquisar na web, encontrei um álbum no Flickr com scans de uma antiga revista dinamarquesa, o “Illustreret Familie-Journal”. Da década de 1930 eu acho. 

E nessa revista você encontra muitos modelos antigos de papel, e eles são bem legais. E melhor ainda: as imagens estão em alta resolução. Resolvi montar a Ponte Vecchio (Ponte Vecchio) em Florença, Itália. 

É uma única folha com peças, e se você imprimir em formato A4, o modelo terá 16 cm de comprimento. Não há instruções com este modelo, mas as peças têm códigos de letras indicando onde devem ser unidas, e a construção é bastante simples. E as fotos vão te ajudar."

The Ephemeral Museum - One Piece`s Going Merry Ship Paper Model by Paper-Replika - Assembled by Terrinecold

The talented French modeler Terrinecold was the one who assembled this beautiful paper model of the Going Merry, from the Japanese anime and manga series One Piece. 

He kindly posted some pictures on the great French paper modeling forum "Le Forum En Papier" (link below, at the end of this post).

The model was created by Indonesian designer and modeler Julius Perdana and is available for free download on his website, Paper-Replika (link below, at the end of this post).

I leave here my thanks to Terrinecold, for the beautiful work and to Julius Perdana, for his kindness in sharing his beautiful model.

O talentoso modelista francês Terrinecold foi quem montou este belo modelo de papel do Going Merry, da série japonesa de animes e mangás One Piece.

Ele gentilmente postou algumas fotos no ótimo forum de papelmodelismo francês "Le Forum En Papier" (link logo abaixo, no final deste post).

I "am in the paper modeling" since 2005, although I've had contact with paper models from my childhood in the 1970s, via magazines that were sold sporadically in newsagents. I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. With the advent of the internet what happened was simply a revival of the papercraft hobby for me and many other people of my generation. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. I would also like this to be a space where all modelers friends could show their work, so if anyone wants to participate in this "museum", just send photos of your work and a few words, if you want, to the e-mail:

Eu "estou no papelmodelismo" desde 2005, embora eu já tivesse contato com modelos de papel desde minha infância, nos anos 1970, via revistas que eram vendidas esporadicamente em bancas de jornal. Lembro que haviam revistas com casas para montar e dioramas/playsets de aeroportos, fortes-apache, presépios e coisas do tipo. Com o advento da internet o que houve foi simplesmente um renascimento do hobby do papelmodelismo para mim e muitas outras pessoas de minha geração. Hoje eu estou inaugurando uma nova sessão aqui no blog, o Ephemeral Museum, que é um lugar aonde irei mostrar alguns dos modelos que eu construí em todos estes anos. Também gostaria que esse fosse um espaço aonde todos os amigos modelistas pudessem mostrar seus trabalhos, sendo assim, se alguém quiser participar deste "museu", basta mandar fotos de seu trabalho e algumas palavras para o e-mail abaixo:

The Ephemeral Museum - Byodo-in Phoenix Hall Paper Model Assembled by Zenzenzenpurin

This beautiful paper model of Byodo-in Phoenix Hall was built by Zenzenzenpurin, or Grilled Pudding (やきプリン), a Japanese toy collector and modeler that I stumbled across on Twitter. 

Occupying 28 printed sheets, this paper model was created by designers S. Umekawa and PBS exclusively for Canon website. 

On the same site, there is also a very simplified miniature model created by designer Hanae Nozaka and which takes up only one printed sheet. Links to both are below, at the end of this post. 

About the model, Zenzenzenpurin said: - "Summer holiday Papercraft "Byodo-in Phoenix Hall" completed! There are many column systems in Japanese cultural heritage, and it was difficult because they are so detailed."

Este belo modelo de papel do Byodo-in Phoenix Hall foi montado por Zenzenzenpurin, ou Pudim Grelhado (やきプリン), um colecionador de brinquedos e modelista japonês que eu encontrei por acaso no Twitter. 

Ocupando 28 folhas impressas, este modelo de papel foi criado pelos designers S. Umekawa e PBS exclusivamente para o site da Canon. 

No mesmo site, há também um modelo em miniatura bem simplificado criado pela designer Hanae Nozaka e que ocupa apenas uma folha impressa. Os links para ambos se encontram logo abaixo, no final deste post. 

Sobre o modelo, Zenzenzenpurin disse: - "Artesanato de papel de férias de verão "Byodo-in Phoenix Hall" concluído! Existem muitos sistemas de colunas na herança cultural japonesa, e foi difícil porque eles são detalhados."

The Ephemeral Museum - The Old Stone House With Well Assembled by Tatasam

My friend from Poland, Henryk Tatasam, built the Old Stone House With Well and posted some photos of his nice work at Paper Modelers forum. 

He rescaled the templates for 1/4 of the original size and printed in B&W, giving this nice effect to the model. 

"Thanks, Henryk, is a nice feeling see one of my models assembled by a friend from a faraway country as Poland. Greetings from Brazil!" - Mauther

Meu amigo da Polônia, Henryk Tatasam, montou a Velha Casa de Pedra com Poço e postou algumas fotos de seu trabalho no forum Paper Modelers.

Ele reduziu a escala para 1/4 do tamanho original e imprimiu tudo em preto e branco, dando este belo efeito ao modelo. 

"Muito obrigado, Henryk, pelas belas fotos e pela montagem inspirada. É uma sensação muito boa ver um de meus modelos montado por uma amigo modelista de um país tão distante como a Polônia. Saudações do Brasil!" - Mauther

The Ephemeral Museum Meets Easter Celebration - The Easter History by Martin Didier & Tito Glorioso

This post was originally published here on the blog a few years ago and at the time I considered myself a theistic agnostic, that is, I assumed that I had no knowledge to prove the existence of God, but I believed in the possibility of the existence of one or more deities. 

Since then many things, none of them miraculous or incredible, have happened, but they made me see life differently. Today I consider myself a Christian and I try to live my life following the teachings of Christ. 

Here in Brazil today, Christians are seen as denialist, conservative and prejudiced idiots, but the truth is that being a Christian is like following a philosophy that preaches basic principles of coexistence: don't steal, don't kill, don't betray, live in peace, forgive and not judge. Help without expecting anything in return. 

That is, try to live in peace, if possible helping others and, when not possible, not getting in the way. I don't know if I expressed myself well, but that's it. 

I like good stories and some of the ones told in the Bible are really good. My friend Tito Glorioso, from Indonesia, built this beautiful Easter diorama created by French designer Martin Didier and kindly sent me some photos of his beautiful work.

Este post foi originalmente publicado aqui no blog há alguns anos e na época eu me considerava um agnóstico teísta, ou seja, eu assumia que não tinha conhecimento para comprovar a existência de Deus, mas acreditava na possibilidade da existência de uma ou mais divindades. 

De lá para cá muitas coisas, nenhum delas milagrosas ou incríveis, aconteceram, mas me fizeram enxergar a vida de forma diferente. Hoje me considero cristão e tento levar a vida seguindo os ensinamentos de Cristo. 

Aqui no Brasil atualmente, cristãos são vistos como idiotas negacionistas, conservadores e preconceituosos, mas a verdade é que ser cristão é como seguir uma filosofia que prega princípios básicos de coexistência: não roubar, não matar, não trair, viver em paz, perdoar e não julgar. Ajudar sem esperar nada em troca. 

Ou seja, tentar viver em paz, se possível ajudando o próximo e, quando não possível, não atrapalhando. Eu não sei se me expressei bem, mas é isso. 

Eu gosto de boas histórias e algumas das contadas na Bíblia são realmente muito boas. Meu amigo Tito Glorioso, da Indonésia, montou este belo diorama de Páscoa criado pelo designer francês Martin Didier e gentilmente enviou-me ontém à noite algumas fotos de seu belo trabalho.
