Kikansha Yaemon D51 No Daibōken - Kikansha Yaemon D51 Locomotive Paper Model - by Toei Animation

Offered by the official website of the production company Toei Animation, this is the Locomotive Kikansha Yaemon D51, from the acclaimed Japanese anime series Kikansha Yaemon D51 no Daibōken. 

Kikansha Yaemon D51 no Daibōken is an anime series that first aired in 1974 and continued until 1975. 

Between 1995 and 1996, the series was reissued with the same characters living new adventures. The series features captivating and developed characters, whose exciting journeys and interactions provide valuable lessons about teamwork, friendship, and overcoming challenges and was one of the first to highlight steam locomotives and historic railways, offering a nostalgic and educational view of railway transportation in Japan. 

Kikansha Yaemon D51 no Daibōken has garnered a dedicated fan base and influenced other subsequent works that explored similar themes of adventure and railway history. The English series Thomas & Friends, which debuted in 1984, likely falls into this category.

1946`s ZIL-110 Limousine - A Sovietic Vintage Papercraft by Tatyana Mavrina - via Sergej Manit

Originally printed in the extinct Soviet Union in 1946, this papercraft of a ZIL-110 Limousine was created by Tatyana Mavrina. 

I would like to thank three blog friends who contributed to this post in the comments. 

To Shadree for making a restored version, but only of the first sheet, because at the time I published this model I only had the first sheet, as I didn't know that the model was made up of two sheets. 

I'm also working on a restored version of this car, and I'm even fixing some of the original designer's mistakes, like the body that isn't aligned. If Shadree sees this post and restores the second sheet, I'll post it here, okay?

I would also like to thank my friend Papercraft Maker for informing me that this vehicle is a "ZIL" and not a "ZIS", as I had published. He informs that ZIS and ZIL are distinct and completely different brands.

Transformers - Optimus Prime Articulated Robot Paper Toy by Paper Transformers

Directly from Transformers universe, this ingenious articulated paper toy of Optimus Prime was created by a Japanese designer, and unfortunately, I couldn't find any information about it, not even its name. 

Their website is simple and straightforward, and the homepage leads us directly to the links of the models. 

There are no texts, or rather, there is only a small text stating that "if you have just a pair of scissors and a rubber band, you can do it." 

What it means is that the models are easy to assemble and do not require any special tools. With just a pair of scissors, some rubber bands (and glue, it can be school glue), you can, following the provided instructions, build your own articulated Optimus Prime. 

As you can see in the images, once assembled, you have an Optimus Prime that transforms into a truck and vice versa.

Diretamente do universo dos Transformers, este engenhoso paper toy articulado do Optimus Prime foi criado por um designer japonês e infelizmente eu não consegui nenhuma informação sobre ele, nem mesmo seu nome. 

O seu website é simples e direto e a página principal nos leva diretamente aos links dos modelos. 

Não há textos, ou melhor, há apenas um pequeno texto informando que "se você tiver apenas uma tesoura e um elástico, você consegue." 

O que ele quer dizer é que os modelos são fáceis de montar e não exigem nenhuma ferramenta especial. Com apenas uma tesoura, alguns elásticos (e cola, pode ser do tipo escolar), você pode, a partir das instruções fornecidas, construir seu próprio Optimus Prime articulado. 

Como vocês podem ver nas imagens, depois de montado, você tem um Optimus Prime que se transforma em caminhão e vice-versa.

Templates For A Cardboard House For Dioramas And Wargames by Papermau - Download Now!

I created these templates of a medieval-style house with the idea that it could be useful for dioramas and wargames. 

I named and numbered the pieces and, with the images that illustrate this post, I believe it will be enough for those who venture into building their own medieval house. 

As you can see, the model has a ground floor and a staircase that leads to the upper floor via a balcony. Maybe later I will publish a version with textures, but that will be for the future. 

In addition to the templates to print, I will leave another link to the 3D version that can be viewed in Sketchup and another link for anyone who wants to download an old, free version of Sketchup. 

I will also leave one more link to another cardboard house with downloadable templates that I published here on the blog in 2019. 

In this post you will see some photos of the model assembly and some tips on what type of cardboard and glue to use, etc. Have fun.

Eu criei estes templates de uma casa em estilo medieval com a idéia que pudesse ser útil para dioramas e wargames. 

Eu nomeei e numerei as peças e, com as imagens que ilustram este post, eu creio que será o bastante para aqueles que se aventurarem em construir sua própria casa medieval. 

Como vocês podem ver o modelo tem um andar térreo e uma escadaria que leva ao andar superior por uma varanda. Talvez depois eu publique uma versão com texturas, mas isso vai ficar para o futuro.

A Baby Giraffe Miniature Paper Model - by Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart

Created by Japanese designer Katsuyuki Shiga Pinoart exclusively for the Canon website, this is the paper model of a baby giraffe.

The entire model only occupies two printed sheets and is not difficult to assemble, though the legs require attention to ensure they align. 

Now the family is complete, as Mr. Katsuyuki Shiga had previously created the male giraffe and the female giraffe (image below). The links for the entire family will be provided below at the end of this post. I will also leave a link to a stand created by Mr. Makoto Shiki that mimics an African savanna, so you can create a complete scene. 

If you intend to use these papercrafts for school projects, below I provide some information and curiosities that may be useful. 

Giraffes are herbivorous mammals known for their long necks and legs. They live in social groups, where males tend to form loose groups and females with their offspring form stable groups. 

Females are responsible for raising their offspring, caring for them from birth. Giraffe females give birth to a single calf after a gestation period of about 15 months and nurse the calves for several months. 

Giraffe calves are known to be born already capable of standing and walking within a few hours after birth. This is crucial for their survival, as it protects them from predators and allows them to follow the group quickly. 

When a giraffe gives birth, the calf falls from a height of about 2 meters to the ground. This impact helps to rupture the amniotic sac and stimulate the calf's breathing. Despite appearing to be a dangerous fall, calves are prepared for it and generally are not injured. 

During the first months of life, giraffe calves spend most of their time resting in areas protected by their mothers and other members of the group. They are very vulnerable to predators in this initial stage and depend heavily on the group's protection to survive. 

In terms of physical differences, males tend to be taller and heavier than females. An adult male can reach between 4.5 to 6 meters in height and weigh between 900 to 1,400 kg, while females are slightly smaller, with an average height of 4 to 5.5 meters and weight between 700 to 1,200 kg. 

Additionally, males generally have more prominent dark spots and thicker ossicones (the "horns") than females.

O modelo todo ocupa apenas duas folhas impressas e não é difícil de mnotar, emboras as patas exijam atenção para que fiquem alinhadas.

Se você pretende usar estes papercrafts para trabalhos escolares, abaixo deixo algumas informações e curiosidades que podem ser úteis. 

As girafas são mamíferos herbívoros conhecidos por seus longos pescoços e pernas. Elas vivem em grupos sociais, onde os machos tendem a formar grupos soltos e as fêmeas com os filhotes formam grupos estáveis. 

As fêmeas são responsáveis pela criação dos filhotes, cuidando deles desde o nascimento. As girafas fêmeas dão à luz a uma única cria após uma gestação de cerca de 15 meses e amamentam os filhotes por vários meses. 

Os filhotes de girafas são conhecidos por nascerem já capazes de ficar em pé e caminhar em poucas horas após o nascimento. Isso é crucial para sua sobrevivência, pois os protege de predadores e lhes permite seguir o grupo rapidamente. 

Quando uma girafa dá à luz, o filhote cai de uma altura de cerca de 2 metros para o chão. Esse impacto ajuda a romper a bolsa amniótica e a estimular a respiração do filhote. Apesar de parecer uma queda perigosa, os filhotes estão preparados para isso e geralmente não se ferem.
