Paper Models I Want To Build - At Whale Hunting Diorama - by ABC

This really beautiful paper model diorama in a box, or Tatebanko, called At Whale Hunting - 1850, is from Polish publisher ABC Magazine. It was neatly assembled by designers Přemysl Kubela and Rudolf Baudis. I don`t have this model, but I will try to purchase this.

Este belíssimo modelo de papel em uma caixa, ou Tatebanko, chamado Caça à Baleia - 1850, é da editora polonesa ABC Magazine. Ele foi caprichosamente montado pelos modelistas Přemysl Kubela e Rudolf Baudis. Eu não tenho esse modelo, mas vou tentar adquirí-lo.

The Real Things Taking a Sunbath

Comissioned by canon website, the Japanese designer Youichi Wada created this photorealistic paper model of a Marine Iguana. The marine iguana is a large reptile distributed in the Galapagos Islands, a part of Ecuador, South America. Its body reaches 120 to 150 cm in length. It feeds mainly on seaweed, meaning it is suited to the ocean, a trait which makes the marine iguana unique from other lizards. A marine iguana will bask in the sun for a long time to raise its body temperature enough, before entering the sea. Its laterally flattened tail is well-suited to swimming, and it has glands near its nose to expel excess salt ingested from the sea water. On its head are rough bumps, and on its neck and back is a row of spine-like scales, known as a crest. All four of its legs feature sharp claws, which have evolved to allow the marine iguana to cling firmly to rocks in the ocean and feed on the marine plants, even in the rapid currents found around the Galapagos Islands. - Canon

O designer japonês Youichi Wada criou esta Iguana Marinho especialmente para o site de papercraft da Canon. A iguana-marinha (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) é o único lagarto do mundo com hábitos marinhos e é uma das muitas espécies extraordinárias que vivem no arquipélago das Galápagos. Vive em zonas rochosas à beira-mar e alimenta-se de algas. Pode passar até uma hora debaixo de água. Galápagos forma um arquipélago na costa da América do Sul. Este arquipélago é formado por várias ilhas vulcânicas que e nunca foram ligadas a uma massa de terra, por isso acredita-se que as iguanas atravessaram sobre a água, da América do Sul para essa ilhas há cerca de 10 a 15 milhões de anos. Um fenômeno curioso são as chamadas iguanas híbridas, nascidas do cruzamento de uma iguana-marinha macho com uma iguana-terrestre fêmea. As iguanas híbridas podem viver tanto na terra quanto no mar. Esta espécie foi um dos animais estudados por Darwin durante sua passagem Galápagos. - Wikipedia

This house really exists. It is located in São Paulo and is one of hundreds of old houses, with different features that make them unique. Unfortunately all of them are doomed to disappear, it is by abandonment and invasion of drug users, who steal even the pipes of the walls, or by real estate speculation. Esta casa realmente existe. Ela fica em São Paulo e é uma das centenas de casas antigas, com peculiaridades que as fazem únicas. Infelizmente todas elas estão fadadas a desaparecer, seja pelo abandono e invasão de usuários de drogas, que roubam até mesmo os antigos canos de cobre das paredes, ou pela especulação imobiliária. About Toys In The Attic by Papermau:

Toys in the Attic is the third album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in April 1975. Is also a name of a 1963`s drama movie with Dean Martin and Geraldine Page. Now, because this is a really nice name, this will be the name of a new session of Papermau`s blog. In this session I will share old original and exclusive paper models posted more than a year here in the blog. It's a way of not letting these models get lost among over 3,000 posts in a year and a half of existence of the blog.

Toys in the Attic (Brinquedos no Sotão) é o nome do terceiro album da banda norte-americana de rock Aerosmith, lançado em 1975. É também o nome de um drama para o cinema de 1963 chamado aqui no Brasil de Na Voragem das Paixões, que contava no elenco com Dean Martin (o parceiro do Rat Pack e de Jerry Lewis) e Geraldine Page. Agora, porque eu acho esse um título muito legal, Toys in the Attic será o nome de uma nova sessão do blog Papermau. Nesta sessão eu publicarei antigos modelos de papel originais e exclusivos postados há um ano ou mais. Esta é a maneira que encontrei para que estes modelos não fiquem perdidos e esquecidos entre mais de três mil postagens feitas em um ano e meio de existência do blog.
