IBM 5100 Portable Computer Paper Model In 1/12 Scale - by Ama

 photo download.ibm2_zpskhxbwfwl.jpg
The Real Thing
Created by Japanese designer Ama, from Axe Factory website, this is the paper model version of the IBM 5100 Portable Computer in 1/12 scale. The IBM 5100 Portable Computer is a portable computer (one of the first, if not the very first) introduced in September 1975, six years before the IBM Personal Computer. A single integrated unit provided the keyboard, five-inch CRT display, tape drive, processor, several hundred kibibytes of read only memory containing system software, and up to 64 KiB of RAM. It was the size of a small suitcase, weighed about 55 lb (25 kg), and could be transported in an optional carrying case, hence the "portable" designation. In 1975 it was an amazing technical accomplishment to package a complete computer with a large amount of ROM and RAM, CRT display, and a tape drive into a machine that small; it was two more years before the similar but much cheaper Commodore PET was released. Earlier desktop computers of approximately the same size, such as the HP 9830, did not include a CRT nor nearly as much memory. An equivalent late 1960s IBM computer would have been nearly as large as two desks and would have weighed about half a ton.

A 1975 Announcement

Matsuyama Castle Paper Model - by Yoshinaka & STpers

 photo matsumaya.Castle.paper.model.0045_zpsnw9ysqgj.jpg
The Real Thing
Created by Japanese designers Yoshinaka and STpers, comissioned by Canon website, here is a beautiful paper model version of the Matsuyama Castle, in Japan. Matsuyama Castle is a flatland-mountain castle that was built in 1603 on Mount Katsuyama, whose height is 132 meters, in Matsuyama city in Ehime Prefecture. This castle was originally built by Kato Yoshiaki in 1603. It had a large five-story tenshu, or keep, which was moved to Aizu Castle when Kato was transferred there in 1627. The next lord, Tadachika Gamoh, died in 1635, shortly after completing the ninomaru. After Tadachika, Matsudaira Sadayuki became the new lord. He completed a new Castle Tower (tenshu) in 1642. His heirs continued to rule the castle after his death. However, on New Years Day, 1784, this Castle Tower (tenshu) was struck by lightning and burned down. The current Castle Tower (tenshu) was built between 1820 and 1854. The castle survived the Meiji restoration, but parts of it were destroyed by bombing from American forces during World War II. Since 1966, the city of Matsuyama has been working to restore the castle.

Dinosaurs - A Triceratops Paper Model - by Yoshihiro Suzuki

Artistic Interpretation Of A Triceratops
Triceratops is a genus of herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur which lived during the late Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous Period, around 68 to 65 million years ago (Mya) in what is now North America. It was one of the last dinosaur genera to appear before the great Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. The term Triceratops, which literally means "three-horned face," is derived from the Greek τρί- (tri-) meaning "three", κέρας (kéras) meaning "horn", and ὤψ (ops) meaning "face". Bearing a large bony frill and three horns on its large four-legged body, and conjuring similarities with the modern rhinoceros, Triceratops is one of the most recognizable of all dinosaurs and the best known ceratopsid. It shared the landscape with and was preyed upon by the fearsome Tyrannosaurus, though it is less certain that the two did battle in the manner often depicted in traditional museum displays and popular images. - Wikipedia

Triceratops Skeleton
- Wikipedia

A Power House Paper Model In 1/72 Scale - by Projekt Bastelbogen

This Power House paper model in 1/72 scale was created by my friend from Germany, the designer and engineer Boris Voigt, from Projekt Bastelbogen, educative website

Boris said that this type of construction is something rare to be found in Germany nowadays, as the power lines are now buried in the ground

I think it will be useful for Train Sets, Dioramas, RPG and Wargames. You will find many more great paper models there, Like the ones in the last image of this post.
