MTV Logo Decorative Papercraft - by Papermau - Download Now!

MTV (Music Television) was launched on August 1, 1981 in the United States (it only arrived in Brazil in October 1990). 

Originally, the channel was dedicated exclusively to music videos, presented by "video jockeys" (VJs). 

The first song to be broadcast was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the band The Buggles. MTV quickly became a significant cultural force, influencing the music, fashion and behavior of young people around the world. 

The famous MTV logo, designed by Manhattan Design (Pat Gorman and Frank Olinsky), is known for its bold and changeable design. 

The original logo featured the letter "M" in a large, three-dimensional style and the letter "TV" written over it in graffiti. 

This design has allowed for countless variations and customizations over the years, reflecting the dynamic and innovative nature of MTV. 

The MTV logo, created by advertising agency Manhattan Design, debuted alongside the channel on August 1, 1981. 

This distinctive and adaptable logo featured the letter "M" in a large, three-dimensional style, with the letter "TV" written over it in a graffiti style. 

The original design was meant to be flexible and changeable, allowing for frequent variation and customization, which has helped MTV maintain a dynamic, contemporary look over the years. 

In 2009, MTV updated its logo to a more simplified version, removing the three-dimensional details and adjusting the style to reflect the brand's evolution and its focus on a wider range of content beyond music videos.

In 2000, small modifications and variations were made to the logo, maintaining the essence of the original design, but in 2009 a more significant update was made, simplifying the design and adapting it for the digital and high-definition world. 

I created this papercraft using the 1981 version as a base. The entire model takes up just one printed sheet and is not difficult to assemble.

Originalmente, o canal era dedicado exclusivamente a videoclipes musicais, apresentados por "video jockeys" (VJs). 

A primeira música a ser transmitida foi "Video Killed the Radio Star" da banda The Buggles. 

A MTV rapidamente se tornou uma força cultural significativa, influenciando a música, moda e comportamento de jovens em todo o mundo.

Pokemon Go Fest 2020 Papercraft Collection - by Pokemon Go Live

Offered by Pokémon GO Live official website to promote the Pokémon GO Fest 2020, here are some papercrafts that will delight fans of this famous anime, mangá and videogame franchise.

Pokémon GO Fest 2020 was a special event in the game Pokémon GO, developed by Niantic. Held on July 25 and 26, 2020, the event was adapted to be entirely virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Players could participate from anywhere in the world by purchasing a virtual ticket. The event included various activities and bonuses and was a great success, providing a unique and inclusive experience for the global Pokémon GO player community. 

Pokémon GO is an augmented reality (AR) game developed by Niantic, released in July 2016 for iOS and Android devices. Players use their smartphones' GPS to find and capture Pokémon in the real world. 

The game uses augmented reality to show Pokémon in the player's environment. Real-world locations, such as monuments and parks, are designated as PokéStops (for collecting items) and Gyms (for battles). 

 In summary, players encounter Pokémon that appear on the map, tap on them to enter capture mode, and use Poké Balls to catch them. These Pokémon can be evolved and used in battles at Gyms or against other players. 

The game holds regular events, such as Pokémon GO Fest and Community Day, which offer bonuses and rare Pokémon. 

Pokémon GO was released worldwide on July 6, 2016, with its first global event in October of the same year. In December 2018, an update introduced the ability to battle other trainers. 

Pokémon GO had millions of downloads in the first few weeks, generating enormous global popularity and becoming one of the most lucrative mobile games of all time, generating billions in revenue since its launch.

Classic G-Shock Watch Papercraft In 1/1 Scale - by Casio Japan

Here are two 1/1 scale (life-size) papercrafts of the famous G-Shock watches offered by Casio Japan's official website. 

The models, one of the G-Shock 5600 and another of the G-Shock 6900, can be assembled in real scale when printed on A4 paper (standard in Japan and Brazil). I believe that the Letter size (American standard), being almost the same size as A4, will have the same effect. 

Casio's G-Shock watches are known for their extreme durability and resistance. Created in 1983, they were designed to withstand mechanical shocks and intense vibrations, making them ideal for sports and outdoor activities. 

Combining functionality and robust design, G-Shocks stand out for their advanced technology and unique aesthetics. 

The first G-Shock was created with the goal of surviving a 10-meter drop, withstanding water pressure up to 10 bars (approximately 100 meters deep), and having a battery life of 10 years. This concept was called the "Triple 10." 

One of the most iconic tests to demonstrate G-Shock's durability was conducted by the inventor, Kikuo Ibe. 

He threw G-Shock prototypes out of the bathroom window of Casio's building to test their durability. 

Later, he subjected the watches to even more extreme tests, such as being run over by a truck and frozen in a block of ice. 

Due to their durability and features, such as stopwatch, altimeter, compass, and shock resistance, G-Shock watches are popular among military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and extreme sports enthusiasts. 

Many models are specifically designed to meet the needs of these users in extreme situations. The name "G-Shock" means "Gravitational Shock." 

It was chosen to emphasize the watches' ability to withstand extreme shocks and impacts, including drops and intense vibrations, which are influenced by gravitational forces. 

Thus, "G-Shock" represents the durability and resistance of Casio watches against adverse conditions and harsh environments.

Aqui estão dois papercrafts na escala 1/1 (tamanho real) dos famosos relógios G-Shock oferecidos pelo site oficial da Casio do Japão. 

Os modelos, um do G-Shock 5600 e outro do G-Shock 6900, podem ser montados na escala real quando impressos em folhas de papel no formato A4 (padrão do Japão e do Brasil). Creio que o formato Carta (padrão americano), por ser quase o mesmo tamanho do A4, o efeito seja o mesmo.

Duel - 1956`s Peterbilt 281 Tank Truck And Chrysler Plymouth Valiant Papercrafts In 1/32 Scale - by Paper Model Studio - All Parts Released

This beautiful diorama inspired by "Duel", the classic suspense road movie directed by Steven Spielberg, was created by Japanese designer and model maker Masahiro Kushima, from the Paper Model Studio website. 

I published the first and second part of this diorama here on the blog last fortnight and I thought that Mr. Kushima would take longer to publish the rest, but he was quick like the film's vehicles and has already released all the missing parts, including a stand/scenario of a desert road with speed effects, to display the vehicles. 

Although nowhere in Mr. Kushima's original post is any connection made, the diorama was clearly inspired by the iconic Peterbilt 281 tank truck and the red Chrysler Plymouth Valiant that appear in the 1971 thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. 

The plot is simple and ingenious: an ordinary man, a salesman named David Mann, is driving along a deserted road and is chased by a tanker truck driven by a menacing driver who is never shown in the film. 

The growing tension is notable thanks to Spielberg's ability to create suspense with limited resources. 

The reason for the truck driver's fury against David is not explained at any point and if you search the internet you will see that there are several theories, the most common being one that argues that the truck driver is enraged by the fact that Mann overtook his vehicle, this being the cause of the entire escalation of violence, and another that maintains that the truck driver is a psychopath who takes the opportunity to terrorize Mann without a clear reason, just for the pleasure of exercising power and control over another person. 

I watched this film when I was six or seven years old, I think, in the early hours of the morning on a free-to-air TV channel (well, there were only free-to-air TV channels when I was a kid in the 1970s) and I remember being very impressed by the story. and, even though I didn't understand anything about cinema, I knew I had seen something special. 

After many years, as a teenager and with the advent of videocassettes, I watched this film again and found out that it was by Spielberg. 

Duel is often considered Steven Spielberg's first feature film, even though it was technically made for television rather than theaters. 

The film was originally broadcast as a "Movie of the Week" on the ABC television network on November 13, 1971. Due to its success, an extended version was released theatrically in some countries. 

I found the official trailer for the film on the Rotten Tomatoes YouTube channel and I took the liberty of publishing it in this post so those who have never seen the film can get an idea. The video is right above the papercraft download link.

Este belíssimo diorama inspirado em "Duel" (no Brasil entitulado "Encurralado"), o clássico road movie de suspense dirigido por Steven Spielberg foi criado pelo designer e modelista japonês Masahiro Kushima, do site Paper Model Studio. 

Eu publiquei a primeira e segunda parte deste diorama aqui no blog na última quinzena e pensei que o Sr. Kushima irira demorar mais para publicar o restante, mas ele foi rápido como os veículos do filme e já lançou todas as partes que faltavam, incluindo um stand/cenário de uma estrada no deserto com efeitos de velocidade, para expor os veículos. 

Embora em nenhuma parte do post original do Sr. Kushima seja feita qualquer relação, o diorama foi claramente inspirado no icônico caminhão tanque Peterbilt 281 e no Chrysler Plymouth Valiant vermelho que aparecem no filme de suspense dirigido por Steven Spielberg e lançado em 1971. 

A trama é simples e genial: um homem comum, um vendedor chamado David Mann, está dirigindo por uma estrada deserta e passa a ser perseguido por um caminhão-tanque dirigido por um motorista ameaçador que nunca é mostrado no filme. 

É notável a tensão crescente graças a habilidade de Spielberg em criar suspense com recursos limitados. 

O motivo da fúria do caminhoneiro contra David não é explicada em nenhum momento e se você pesquisar na internet vai ver que há várias teorias, sendo as mais comuns uma que argumenta que o motorista do caminhão fica enfurecido pelo fato de Mann ter ultrapassado seu veículo, sendo essa a causa de toda a escalada de violência, e outra que sustenta que o caminhoneiro é um psicopata que aproveita a oportunidade para aterrorizar Mann sem um motivo claro, apenas pelo prazer de exercer poder e controle sobre outra pessoa. 

Eu assisti esse filme quando eu tinha seis ou sete anos, acho eu, de madrugada em um canal de tv aberta (bem, só haviam canais de tv aberta quando eu era criança na década de 1970) e lembro que fiquei muito impressionado com a história e, mesmo sem entender nada de cinema, eu sabia que havia visto algo especial. 

Depois de muitos anos, já na adolescência e com o advento dos videocassetes, eu voltei a assistir esse filme e saber que era de Spielberg. "Duel" é frequentemente considerado o primeiro longa-metragem de Steven Spielberg, embora tecnicamente tenha sido feito para a televisão e não para os cinemas. 

O filme foi originalmente transmitido como um "Movie of the Week" na rede de televisão ABC em 13 de novembro de 1971. Devido ao seu sucesso, uma versão estendida foi lançada nos cinemas em alguns países. 

Achei o trailer oficial do filme no canal do Rotten Tomatoes no Youtube e tomei a liberdade de publicá-lo neste post para aqueles que nunca viram o filme terem uma idéia. O video está logo acima do link para download do papercraft.

Duel - 1956`s Peterbilt 281 Tank Truck Paper Model In 1/32 Scale by Paper Model Studio - Part 02

Here is the second part of the papercraft in 1/32 scale of a 1956 Peterbilt 281 tank truck created by Japanese designer and model maker Masahiro Kushima, from the Paper Model Studio website. 

In the first part published last week, Mr. Kushima shared the truck's body and today he presents us with some details of this body, such as rear-view mirrors, horn, trailer hitch, a type of air conditioning, fuel tanks and filters. 

As mentioned in the previous post, this model was clearly inspired by the iconic tank truck from "Duel", a thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg and released in 1971.

Aqui está a segunda parte do papercraft em escala 1/32 de um caminhão tanque Peterbilt 281 de 1956 foi criado pelo designer e modelista japonês Masahiro Kushima, do site Paper Model Studio. 

Na primeira parte publicada semana passada, o Sr. Kushima compartilhou a carroceria do caminhão e hoje ele nos apresenta alguns detalhes dessa carroceria, tais como espelhos retrovisores, buzina, o engate do reboque, uma espécie de ar condionado, tanques de combustível e filtros. 

Como já dito no post anterior, este modelo foi claramente inspirado no icônico caminhão tanque de "Duel", filme de suspense dirigido por Steven Spielberg e lançado em 1971.
