Created by Indonesian designer and model maker Julius Perdana from the Paper Replika website, this Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379 papercraft in 1/72 scale faithfully represents the long and robust semi-truck that appeared in the 2007 film Transformers.
With an imposing and stylized look, it stands out with its iconic red and blue flames on the hood, one of the signature features of this version of the character.
Director Michael Bay aimed for a more modern and striking design for the big screen, choosing the Peterbilt 379, one of the most iconic trucks in the United States.
The selected model featured a long, curved hood, setting it apart from the boxy appearance of the original 1980s Optimus Prime.
To make it even more distinctive, stylized flames were added, giving it a dynamic touch and setting it apart from conventional truck designs.
During filming, three identical Peterbilt 379 trucks were used for different scenes: one for road shots and others adapted for special effects.
The truck also underwent several customizations, including taller chrome exhaust pipes and an extended chassis, enhancing its on-screen presence.
Additionally, its wheels were fitted with special lighting, highlighting details in night scenes.
The model in the first image of this post was built by model maker Mido's Vibes from Egypt.
He also recorded a one-hour tutorial video, detailing each step of assembling the Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379.

Com um visual imponente e estilizado, ele se destaca pelas icônicas chamas vermelhas e azuis no capô, uma das marcas registradas dessa versão do personagem.
O diretor Michael Bay buscava um design mais moderno e impactante para as telonas, optando pelo Peterbilt 379, um dos caminhões mais icônicos dos Estados Unidos.
O modelo escolhido possuía um capô longo e curvado, diferenciando-se do visual quadrado do Optimus Prime original dos anos 80.
Para torná-lo ainda mais marcante, foram adicionadas chamas estilizadas, conferindo um toque dinâmico e afastando-o da aparência tradicional dos caminhões convencionais.
Durante as filmagens, três Peterbilt 379 idênticos foram utilizados para diferentes cenas: um para tomadas de estrada e outros adaptados para efeitos especiais.
O caminhão também passou por diversas customizações, como escapamentos mais altos, cromados e um chassi alongado, reforçando sua imponência na tela.
Além disso, suas rodas receberam iluminação especial, destacando os detalhes em cenas noturnas.
O modelo da primeira imagem deste post foi montado pelo modelista Mido's Vibes, do Egito. Ele também gravou um vídeo tutorial de uma hora, detalhando cada etapa da montagem do Optimus Prime Peterbilt 379.
