Motorola DynaTAC 8000X - by Fibre Design - 1º Celular do Mundo

Photobucket

DynaTAC is a series of cellular telephones manufactured by Motorola, Inc. from 1983 to 1994. With several different models, plus newer models under the Classic and Ultra Classic names, it was the first line of cell phones commercially produced by Motorola, with the first member of the DynaTAC series, the 8000x, being the first cell phone to receive U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) acceptance in 1983. DynaTAC was actually an abbreviation of Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage. - Wikipedia

SRA/Ericsson MTA (Mobile Telephone System A)
Year: 1956
In the days before cellular phone networks, the world's mobile phones lacked a unifying standard. Instead, they used varying communication methods defined on a company-by-company basis.
The 88-pound MTA phone (in the photo below), shown here, is typical in size and weight of early mobile phone systems from the pre-integrated-circuit era. Most were so heavy and power-hungry that they required permanent installation in a car or other vehicle. Very few people owned, used, or even encountered such devices; for example, the service for the model shown here existed in only two Swedish cities and served a mere 125 subscribers from 1956 to 1967.
Notable qualities: The first automatic mobile telephone system (it didn't require a human operator to manually connect the user to an outside phone line)

Vinte Anos Da Telefonia Celular No Brasil

Leia a história abaixo:

Lotus Europa Paper Car - by Takumi

Very nice model of Lotus Europa, by Takumi, with detailed interior.

Photobucket

PhotobucketThe Lotus Europa was a two door mid-engined GT coupé built by Lotus Cars from 1966 to 1975. In 2006 Lotus began production of a totally new, Lotus Elise-derived design, a mid-engined GT coupé named Europa S.
The original Europa used Lotus founder Colin Chapman's minimalist steel backbone chassis that was first used in the Lotus Elan, while also relying on its fibreglass moulded body for structural strength. The Europa was based on a prototype built to compete for Henry Ford II's contract to build a Le Mans race car in the early 1960s.
The Europa was designed and built to be an embodiment of Chapman's oft-stated philosophy of automotive design: "Simplify, then add lightness."

PhotobucketThe four-wheel independent suspension was typical of Chapman's thinking; the rear suspension consisted of two relatively large trailing arms, one lower locating link per side, and the axles were used as upper locating links; very similar to Formula racing car designs of that era. Aside from the doors, bonnet (hood), and boot (trunk), the body was moulded as a single unit of fiberglass.
The car's handling prompted automotive writers to describe the Europa as the nearest thing to a Formula car for the road.
In all, Lotus built about 9,300 Europas. - Wikipedia

Photobucket

PhotobucketThe Curtiss R3C was an US-American racing aircraft built in landplane and seaplane form. It was a single-seated biplane built by the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company.
The R3C-1 was the landplane version and won the Pulitzer Trophy Race in 12 October 1925 with a speed of 248.9 mph (406.5 km/h).
The R3C-2 was a twin-float seaplane built for the Schneider Trophy Race. In 1925, it took place at Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore, Maryland. With 232.57 mph (374.274 km/h), pilot Jimmy Doolittle won the trophy with a Curtiss R3C-2. The other two R3C-2, piloted by George Cuddihy and Ralph Oftsie, did not reach the finish line. The next day, with the same plane on a straight course, Doolittle reached 245.7 mph (395.4 km/h), a new world record. For the next Schneider Trophy, that took place on 13 November 1926, the R3C-2's engine was further improved, and pilot Christian Franck Schilt won the second place with 231.364 mph (372.34 km/h). - Wikipedia

Halloween Special - Phantom Manor - by Ray Keim

Photobucket

I created this model for entertainment purposes only. It represents over six months of work, taking hundreds of hours to design. I am now offering it for free to any mansion fan who would like it, as a token of appreciation for all the phenomenal support I have received since starting this site, and also in the hopes that it will encourage others to share their art and ideas freely online. I hope it is enjoyed, and shared. All I ask is that my name and credit appear on the model and documents. And please do not repackage it, or try to sell it in a modified form. - Ray Keim

Halloween Special - Barbie Scale Guillotine - by Tektonten

Tektonten is a very nice blog about paper models and have some original models made by the author.

Here is my contribution to the collection of free Halloween papercraft on the Internet this year: a guillotine! I had downloaded a 3D model of a bloody guillotine by designer "Smirnoffka" earlier this year thinking I might do a papercraft of it sometime and finally decided it would work best as a Halloween papercraft. I chose to scale the guillotine to the size of a Barbie doll because there was something just so ironic and disturbing about associating smiling Barbie with a gruesome instrument of death. - Tektonten
