Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station - First Building

Here is the first building of Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station diorama. It seems that all the parts go to incase with perfection, without necessity of many adjustments. I am using the new version of Pepakura Design 3, the High Resolution Version, and it saves a lot of time correcting little bugs.

Aqui o primeiro pedaço do diorama Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station. Parece que todas as peças vão se encaixar com perfeição, sem necessidade de muitos ajustes. Eu estou usando a nova versão do Pepapkura Design 3, O High Resolution Version, e isto me economizou um bocado de tempo com pequenas correções.

Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station - Walking Dead`s Custom - by Dave Winfield

Dave Winfield picked up the Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station paper model, and has been far beyond anything I could have imagined. He just reinvented the model. Let's hope he can share these improvements with us. Amazing job, Dave! For while, download the original model (link at the end of this post) and make your own diorama!

The Ephemeral Museum - Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station Paper Model - Assembled by Pascal Lesage

My friend from France, Pascal Lesage, aka Paskal, built the Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station paper model and kindly sent me some photos your your really nice work. He created a lot of details, such as the grass and some clumps that were very convincing. I can only thank Paskal for the photos and for giving me the honor of being able to present his work here on the blog. I really appreciate this. I ask him to write something and you can read these words right below:

"About me ? I'm 56 years old and I have made my first paper model kit when I was 8/9 years old I remember it was a typical French house printed onto 1 sheet wich my teacher gave to me because I did good work !This is a long story : the wife's teacher worked in company called Limpidol. Limpidol was a famous French brand of glue, it no longer exists anymore. In the end of the 60's, this company created and printed a wide range of paper models to be used with their products: typical houses of the French regions, castles and even cathedrals with 30 cm high! So, our teacher got them for free from his wife, and gave them to us 1 sheet as gift after 10 good jobs. For a larger model, this costed 50... very rare... Then I have built all types of plastic models, then dioramas, I paint 28mm figures and I like to create sets with styrofoam and parts from "Hirst Arts" plaster molds, cardboard, else... Sometime I built paper models for fun and I also tried to create some models. I have no special technic exepted I use felt-tip pens to color the edges and to alter some of printed parts. Thanks again for your wonderfull models and I hope see you very soon. Best regards! - Paskal"

Meu amigo da França, Pascal Lesage, aka Paskal, montou o modelo de papel do Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station e gentilmente enviou-me algumas fotos o seu ótimo trabalho. Ele adicionou vários detalhes, tais como a grama e algumas moitas que ficaram bem convincentes. Eu só posso agradecer ao Paskal pelas fotos e por dar-me a honra de poder apresentar seu trabalho aqui no blog. Eu realmente aprecio isso. Eu pedi a ele que escrevesse algumas palavras para a postagem e você pode lê-las logo abaixo:

"Sobre mim? Eu tenho 56 anos e montei meu primeiro modelo de papel quando eu estava com 8 ou 9 anos. Lembro-me de que era uma típica casa francesa impressa em 1 folha que o professor me deu porque fiz um bom trabalho! Essa é uma longa história: a esposa deste professor trabalhava em uma empresa francesa chamada Limpidol. Limpidol era uma famosa marca francesa de adesivos, que já não existe mais. No final dos anos 60, esta empresa criou e imprimiu uma ampla gama de modelos de papel para promover seus produtos: casas típicas das regiões francesas, castelos e até catedrais com 30 cm de altura! Então, nosso professor os obtinha gratuitamente e nos dava um modelo como presente a cada dez lições bem feitas. Para um modelo maior, o custo eram 50 lições... bem difícil... Então eu comecei a montar todos os tipos de modelos de plástico, depois dioramas, gosto de pintar figuras de 28mm e crio cenários com isopor e peças de gesso da marca "Hirst Arts", papelão e outros materiais ... eu monto modelos de papel por diversão e também tentei criar algumas coisas. Na montagem, eu não tenho nenhuma técnica especial, eu uso canetas de feltro para colorir as bordas e alterar algumas das peças impressas. Agradeço novamente por seus maravilhosos modelos e vejo você em breve. Saudações!- Paskal"

I remember magazines with houses to build and dioramas/playsets of airports, western forts, nativity scenes and the like. Today I am opening a new session here on the blog, the Ephemeral Museum , which is a place where I will show some of the models that I built all these years. Abandoned Gas Station Interior - by Darwin - A Work In Progress

Darwin, a friend from Paper Modelers, an American forum, is creating an interior for the Abandoned Gas Station. It`s just the beginning, but I can see that it will be a great work. Below two images of the main building. The link to the original thread is in the end of this post. A bad news is that you get to register in the forum to view the images, and the good news is registration is free and Paper Modelers is one of the best foruns about paper model of all the net.

Abandoned Barn Paper Model In HO Scale - by Jean Pierre Larouze

This is the Abandoned Barn, a paper model in HO scale (1/87 scale) that is part of the La Petite Cite (The Little City), a very nice architectural papercraft collection created by French designer Jean-Pierre Larouze, from Decoupages Faciles website. A perfect model for Train Sets, Dioramas, RPG and Wargames.

Este é o Celeiro Abandonado, um modelo de papel na escala HO (escala 1/87) que faz parte de La Petite Cite (A Pequena Cidade), uma coleção bem bacana de papercrafts arquitetônicos criada pelo designer francês Jean-Pierre Larouze, do site Decoupages Faciles. Um modelo perfeito para Maquetes Ferroviárias, Dioramas, RPG e Wargames.

Brazilian Abandoned House - Assembled by Bosco

I`m very happy because I saw this nice build of Brazilian Abandoned House , in Forum Em Papier, a great French forum. The assembly is from Bosco, and I think he did a great work, with the light in the small light pole. This little Led lamp is what was missing in the diorama.

Eu estou muito contente por ver a Velha Casa Abandonada postada no grande forum francês "Forum Em Papier". A bela montagem é de Bosco e eu penso que ele fez um grande trabalho, com a iluminação no poste e tudo o mais. Essa lâmpada de Led era o que faltava para dar vida ao diorama.
Muito obrigado, Bosco, pela bela montagem e por partilhá-la conosco.

The Rusty Lady -1949`s Abandoned Willys Jeep Station Wagon Paper Model In 1/35 Scale - by Paper Diorama

Offered by Paper Diorama, Italian website, this is the paper model version in 1/35 scale of the "Rusty Lady", an abandoned 1949`s Willys Jeep Station Wagon. 

This model occupies only three sheets of paper, including the base/stand.
