Shirley Temple Black (née Temple; April 23, 1928 – February 10, 2014) was an American film and television actress, singer, dancer and public servant, most famous as a child star in the 1930s. As an adult, she entered politics and became a diplomat, serving as United States Ambassador to Ghana and later to Czechoslovakia, and as Chief of Protocol of the United States. Temple began her film career in 1932 at the age of three. In 1934, she found international fame in Bright Eyes, a feature film designed specifically for her talents. She received a special Juvenile Academy Award in February 1935 for her outstanding contribution as a juvenile performer to motion pictures during 1934, and film hits such as Curly Top and Heidi followed year after year during the mid-to-late 1930s. Licensed merchandise that capitalized on her wholesome image included dolls, dishes and clothing. Her box office popularity waned as she reached adolescence, and she left the film industry in her teens. She appeared in a few films of varying quality in her mid-to-late teens, and retired completely from films in 1950 at the age of 22. She was the top box-office draw four years in a row (1935–38) in a Motion Picture Herald poll. Temple returned to show business in 1958 with a two-season television anthology series of fairy tale adaptations. She made guest appearances on television shows in the early 1960s and filmed a sitcom pilot that was never released. She sat on the boards of corporations and organizations including The Walt Disney Company, Del Monte Foods and the National Wildlife Federation. She began her diplomatic career in 1969, with an appointment to represent the United States at a session of the United Nations General Assembly. Já com mais de quarenta anos de idade, concorreu a cargos políticos, sem sucesso. Em 1974, foi nomeada pelo presidente Gerald Ford embaixadora dos Estados Unidos na extinta Checoslováquia, posto que ocupou até 1976. De 1989 a 1992 foi embaixadora no Gana nomeada por George H. W. Bush. Como atriz, não só foi a maior estrela infantil da sua época, como também é considerada a mais famosa de todos os tempos. Seus filmes continuam bem populares até aos dias de hoje, particularmente entre as meninas. Em 1935, durante a Grande Depressão, o presidente norte-americano Franklin D. Roosevelt agradeceu Shirley Temple por fazer a América atravessar aquele triste período com um sorriso. Ele declarou: "Durante esta Depressão, quando o espírito do povo está mais triste do que em qualquer outro momento, é uma coisa magnífica que por apenas 15 centavos, um americano pode ir ao cinema e olhar para o rosto sorridente de um bebê e esquecer de seus problemas." This beautiful paper toy representing a Tanuki was created by Brazilian designer Kleber Moraes. Tanuki statues produced according to the "Shigaraki ware" pottery style of Shigaraki City, Shiga Prefecture, are one of Japan's most well-known lucky charms. Believed to be bringers of commercial prosperity, they are often placed outside the entrance to shops. The standard tanuki has a good- natured face and a chubby, round body. He wears a braided hat and stands with his head slightly tilted, holding a traditional Japanese tokkuri (sake flask) and a promissory note (an unpaid bill) in his hands. Shigaraki ware tanuki are said to be the bearers of eight different positive traits. The tanuki's hat symbolizes protection from the elements, caution and awareness; the eyes represent looking at things with adequate attention and care; the face features a friendly, sincere smile; the belly symbolizes bold decisiveness; the tokkuri represents personal grace; the promissory note, trust; the money bag, economic fortune; and the tail suggests that true fortune comes from standing firmly and proudly. Este belo paper toy representado um Tanuki foi crado pelo designer brasileiro Kleber Moraes. As estátuas Tanuki são produzidos de acordo com o "Shigaraki ware", um estilo de cerâmica da Cidade de Shigaraki, província de Shiga, são um dos mais conhecidos amuletos da sorte do Japão. Acredita-se que eles possam trazer prosperidade financeira, por isso eles são muitas vezes colocados na entrada de lojas. O tanuki padrão tem uma cara bem-humorada e um corpo gordinho. Toys In The Attic - The Little Urban Diorama Paper Model

This is the Little Urban Diorama, the first one paper model posted here on the blog. It has been fully drawn and texturized using MsPaint. I reviewed the model and turned into PDF format, thereby removing printing errors, since all sheets are automatically the same resolution and size. This model was originally posted here in JUNE 22, 2011.

Este é o Pequeno Diorama Urbano, o primeiríssimo modelo de papel postado aqui no blog. Ele foi totalmente desenhado e texturizado usando-se o MsPaint. Eu revisei o modelo e o passei para o formato PDF, eliminando assim erros de impressão, uma vez que todas as folhas ficam automaticamente na mesma resolução e tamanho. Este modelo foi originalmente postado no dia 22 de junho de 2011.

About Toys In The Attic by Papermau:

Toys in the Attic is the third album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in April 1975. Is also a name of a 1963`s drama movie with Dean Martin and Geraldine Page. Now, because this is a really nice name, this will be the name of a new session of Papermau`s blog. In this session I will share old original and exclusive paper models posted more than a year here in the blog. It's a way of not letting these models get lost among over four thousand posts in two years of existence of the blog.

Toys in the Attic (Brinquedos no Sotão) é o nome do terceiro album da banda norte-americana de rock Aerosmith, lançado em 1975. É também o nome de um drama para o cinema de 1963 chamado aqui no Brasil de Na Voragem das Paixões, que contava no elenco com Dean Martin (o parceiro do Rat Pack e de Jerry Lewis) e Geraldine Page. Agora, porque eu acho esse um título muito legal, Toys in the Attic será o nome de uma nova sessão do blog Papermau. Nesta sessão eu publicarei antigos modelos de papel originais e exclusivos postados há um ano ou mais. Esta é a maneira que encontrei para que estes modelos não fiquem perdidos e esquecidos entre mais de quatro mil postagens feitas em dois anos de existência do blog.
