A kibbutz is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. Today, farming has been partly supplanted by other economic branches, including industrial plants and high-tech enterprises. Kibbutzim began as utopian communities, a combination of socialism and Zionism. In recent decades, some kibbutzim have been privatized and changes have been made in the communal lifestyle. A member of a kibbutz is called a kibbutznik . In 2010, there were 270 kibbutzim in Israel. Their factories and farms account for 9% of Israel’s industrial output, worth US$8 billion, and 40% of its agricultural output, worth over $1.7 billion. - Wikipedia

The Real Thing

Um kibutz é uma forma de colectividade comunitária israelita. Apesar de existirem empresas comunais (ou cooperativas) noutros países, em nenhum outro as comunidades colectivas voluntárias desempenharam papel tão importante como o dos kibutzim em Israel, onde tiveram função essencial na criação do Estado judeu. Combinando o socialismo e o sionismo no sionismo trabalhista, os kibutzim são uma experiência única israelita e parte de um dos maiores movimentos comunais seculares na história. Hoje, em alguns kibutzim há uma comunidade comunitária e são adicionalmente contratados trabalhadores que vivem fora da esfera comunitária e que recebem salários, como em qualquer empresa capitalista. - Wikipedia

The European Space Agency's Mars Express was designed to study the geology, atmosphere, surface environment, history of water and potential for life on Mars. Mars Express was Europe's first mission to another planet. It provided subsurface measurements with the first radar instrument ever flown to Mars, and discovered underground water-ice deposits. It sent back mineralogical evidence for the presence of liquid water throughout Martian history and studied the density of the Martian crust in detail. The orbiter's unique orbit also has allowed it make up-closed studies of Phobos, the larger of Mars' two moons. The mission has been extended several times.

Here is a really beautiful and old paper model, preserved and shared by Pillpat, from Agence Eureka. This vintage farm is a colorful little treasure. The images you see at this post are from a virtual construction I made using Google Sketchup. I think this is a great way to test models before you decide to mount them. K-On! is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga written and illustrated by Kakifly. The manga was serialized in Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara between the May 2007 and October 2010 issues. It was also serialized in Houbunsha's magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat. The manga relaunched in April 2011 with two separate storylines published in Manga Time Kirara and Manga Time Kirara Carat. A 13-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation aired in Japan between April and June 2009. An additional original video animation (OVA) episode was released in January 2010. A 26-episode second season, titled K-On!! (with two exclamation marks), aired in Japan between April and September 2010, with an OVA episode released in March 2011. An anime film adaptation has been announced and was released in Japan on December 3, 2011. The title of the series comes from the Japanese word for light music, keiongaku , which in the Japanese context is similar to pop music. - Wikipedia

K-ON! é um mangá japonês escrito e ilustrado por Kakifly. Ele começou a ser publicado na revista Manga Time Kirara na edição de maio de 2007, também começou outra serialização na revista bimestral Manga Time Kirara Carat desde outubro de 2008. Foi feita uma adaptação para anime com 13 episódios, produzidos pela Kyoto Animation exibidos no Japão entre abril e junho de 2009. Um episódio de animação adicional (OVA) foi lançado em 20 de janeiro de 2010 e seguido pela segunda temporada que levou o nome de K-ON!! e iniciou-se em 7 de Abril, terminando em 28 de setembro de 2010. Após o último episódio da segunda temporada um filme foi lançado em 3 de dezembro de 2011. O título da série vem da palavra em japonês "música leve", keiongaku (軽音楽?), uma tradução mais precisa poderia ser música contemporânea ou pop. - Wikipedia
